Xabi Alonso Was So Slow, He Became UNPRESSABLE

  • Xabi Alonso is a true maestro of the game.Though his touches may have been fewer, their impact was seismic. Alonso dictated the tempo of the game wherever he went, bending the match to his will and forcing the game to be played at his pace
Because despite being one of the slowest midfielders we’ve ever seen, Xabi Alonso is one of the most unpressable playmakers of all time - standing as a solid rock for his squad as both a shield and a weapon.
Today, we're going to look at Xabi Alonso’s career and remind you all of how great he really was.

The fact that Xabi averaged 0.6 dispossessions a game… on average the guy wouldn’t even lose the ball a single time. Truly unpressable. Leave a like if you enjoyed ❤️🙏 really supports the channel
Also to all Bayer supporters, apologies I didn’t mean it that way 😂🙏 I meant more along the lines of they have a long way to go from where they were last season, but Xabi Alonso has what it takes

Massively underated due to who he played alongside. Just looking at the clips used in this video, he made things possible for Gerrard and Torres, then for ozil and Ronaldo. Then allowed ribery and robben to thrive the way they did.
So many great players owe this man so much. His natural intelligence in the game means it's not over for him yet. As a manager we're going to hear allot of him, where he might get the credit he deserves.

Alonso is doing an amazing job for Bayer Leverkusen - he took over when they were last in the table after 7 matchdays iirc and almost managed to still reach the CL qualification. He's already considered one of the best trainers in the Bundesliga. Hopefully he'll stay another year, but after that he'll probably take over Real when Ancelottis contract runs out.

As a Man Utd fan, I actually admire Alonso when he was at Liverpool because I play in that position. His passing and awareness was just sublime. His reading of the game in terms of defence was also at another level. He knew when to be physical and when to intercept. Definitely underrated due to the peers he played alongside him throughout his career.
