- This video shows you all of Terraria Calamity Mod summoner weapons. Calamity Mod adds a variety of new minions that can be summoned with weapons, accessories or armor sets. Summon weapons are weapons which summon a minion to fight for the player. They act similarly to magic weapons in that they consume mana, but while magic weapons deal damage directly from the weapon, summon weapons attack autonomously from the player's input and targets can be manually switched with the Interact (defaults to right click) key to a different target. All minions will do 50% less damage if the player is holding a weapon belonging to a different class. Tools and Classless weapons will not inflict the penalty when held, and certain armor reduces the summoner penalty altogether. However, while holding a summon weapon, all minion damage is increased by 10%.
The mod currently adds 19 Pre-Hardmode, 23 Hardmode, and 21 Post-Moon Lord summon weapons along with 1 Pre-Hardmode, 6 Hardmode, and 3 Post-Moon Lord sentry weapons.

Fun Fact: The Abandoned Slime Staff is a scaled down Astrageldon Slime which was replaced by Astrum Aureus 2 years ago, that's why it's called "abandoned".

My first playthrough was as a summoner and I wished I had whips the whole time
eh i really only think it'll affect pre hm in hm you have better stuff to do than use whips although kaleidoscope + god probe thing or something would be good. Basically anything that inflicts lots of damage numbers will be worlds stronger with whips.

Well, they are on the lower side, but you no longer need to kill at least 1 boss for a early summon weapon anymore.

I never knew calamity had such cool minions in post moonlord. I’m glad I got to see a sample of what’s to come for me. I have to say one of my favorites had to be the mechworm cause it just looked awesome in its movements.

Edit: I've heard from other people that the Calamity discord is "stuck in 1.3", so they might just completely ignore whips.

Maybe they do the same as the vanilla whips but the post moon lord whips aline with the different armors you get. (For example, apon hit of what I call the godslayer whip will cause a explosion of God energy and it will buff your minions to do x3 damage or something.)

Fun fact about Flamsteed ring: Depending on what weapon you use will give you different stats, ex. When holding the Titan arm, you get a 100% crit chance. The ring also cannot consume rogue stealth, so when paired with endgame armor and the eclipse mirror will grant the highest damage of any build

Theres some who use summoner accessories while being a different class. You can use Nucleogenesis, Statis Curse, and Dark Sun Ring. BAM! 10 minions slots(with non summoner armor)

@@froggie610 nah, a friend of mine is making a thing for Calamity called Insanity mode. I can’t remember much, but the biggest thing about it is that any boss from any point in the game can spawn in their respective biome. So for example, say you’re trying to get jungle armor in the start of prehardmode, and all of a sudden, Plaguebringer Goliath shows up out of nowhere and beats the shit out of you

Magical conch is one of the most underrated calamity mod weapons, like seriously, it will easily last you until skeletron only because it has a hard time hitting fast moving bosses.

one think that i think you should have done, is to use armour sets scaling with the stages of the game. because in endgame, it’s very unrealistic to have 4 elemental axes, you would have 3 or 2 times as much actually. other than that, amazing video.

Few ideas that might be cool, whip that is really large forwards but not to it's sides, whip that increases minion attack speed, whip that gives summons stupid amounts of tag damage and crit chance but has a really low normal damage, and a sort of mix between a chain knife and a whip.

I played summoner only with one of my friends once in our calamity playtrough, and the few summons that take up 1/2 of a summon slot..

Hey zen, whenever you decide to fight Skeletron prime I would suggest to use the igneous exaltation, I used it on Skeletron for my second mech boss and killed him first try

You can get Profaned Soul Crystal pre-SCal if you ONLY use the Profaned Soul Artifact in one of your accessory slots and defeating Providence in expert mode with singleplayer.

The plane summons looked like they were doing less damage because you weren't using special bullets, their gimmick is that they can fire any type of bullet that you have, like holy fire or terra bullets.

I think you gave the Magical Conch the wrong description, you wrote the same thing as you did for the seabound staff.
The summoning class looks fun in Calamity. In Vanilla it's just summoning them, run and whip that's it.
thats why i didnt continue my 1.4 summoner playtrough, most of them were boring
the reason tmodloader hasn't updated to 1.4 is because summoner will be op with whips
we're at pre-moon lord and idk what to use between resurrection butterfly/godspawn helix and spikecrag staff/hive pod. Ressurection butterfly deals more damage, as shown in the video, and spikecrag also seems to deal more when placed correctly. What should I use?
