Got to say, with all these weapons I would have thought there would be at least some feeling of “it’s just x but stronger.” But honestly all seemed unique enough (at least as someone watching someone else use them) that there wasn’t that type of feeling.
Yeah all of them are very cool and unique
Yeah it seems calamity might get out of the view of samey weapons and a million basic ai bosses
Violence reminds me of the flying knife, but that’s as close as it gets.

@@ChicoDaChina not really, no. It's even less like the zenith than violence is like the flying knife, and one could argue it is worse too, being way less powerful in comparison to the stage in progression you get it.
The people who made calamity are insanely good at it, i can see why they're one of the best mods for terraria, their works are just beautifully done and detailed.

For me, Gruesome Eminence is the coolest weapon in the *WHOLE* calamity mod, and duck yeah I'm maining Gruesome Eminence from now on, like i mean, just imagine a *horrifying shadow serpent* that eats anything on your path, how cool is that?
And imagine the look on your friends' faces when you just deploy a literal embodiment of darkness to fight monsters.

Summoners literally use Calamitas' brothers and minions, why they didn't rework the Vehemence and Demonshade is beyond me

Early-game weapons: Sprites are not so complex and mechanic is simple

The metastasis is absolutely amazing. The new sepulcher design is so damn good and the fact that I can now fight with it is just god-tier.
Also, the tooltip saying that the Devourer of Gods could become a sepulcher should they continue their quest for power is insanely awesome.
I just wanna say, damn these weapon sprites are so colourful. Also, the photon ripper is literally looks like a gaming chainsaw with the rgb. Lel
I mean, it actually CAN chop trees.

I know this is a hard and annoying request, but can you add the stage of the weapon / their source? Sometimes we wanna know which stage we can get these weapon (although idk is all weapon origin is found)
Gruesome Eminence seem like a summoner weapon imo, but I can see why the dev decided to make it a mage weapon instead. Weapon that requires holding attack using minion slot sound super tricky.
Neat idea for a multi class. Channels beasts of great power but are incredibly vulnerable in the process. Think of the accessories it'd have. Maybe like an evoker or a conduit.
@@BlightedLight like a warlock, man that would be neat, a Summoner that can sacrifice their minions for more raw magic power or lose health to empower them temporarily, his last tier would summon a bunch of extreamly cute critters that deal no dmg but consuming them give you absurd power and the hate from all the NPCs

The gruesome eminence is probably the best weapon put of all its super cool and super good at dealing with large amount of enemies and worms
I love how some of the weapons could also attack you, nice new mechanic. I also love the new SCAL themed weapons, which also can attack you
The Starbound music just makes me fall back to 2013, back when the game has potentional.

I hate what they did with it. Was a beta tester for the game. Its in a better place then it was when you required a golden ducky to progress tho.

Idk why but i love the Rancor also it looks way cooler than the prism weapons that also fire a beam

Photon ripper is just a calamity version of the zennith and I love that.

gruesome eminence and rancor have probably my favorite looking effects and animations out of any calamity item
My beloved Scarlet Devil was buffed, and now it's clearing off Scal much much faster than it used to be. And i love it :)
I love the idea that some of these summons aren't fully under player control as they will actually try to kill you, implying that they still have some level of their own sentience and will

i really like how they added the option of your weapons also damaging you
These are really sick. They're visually incredible and the effects are stunning, although I'm a bit alarmed by the fact that a lot of them are self-damaging. Also, I wish they'd fix the sprite positioning on ranged weapons; it's just kind of bizarre.
That's the specifics of SCal's weapons: one cannot use the great power without facing some concequences.
Damn the weapons from becoming more and more original and interesting to use

Ngl I was really disappointed when the Illustrious Knives and the Mage Hammer stopped being both rogue and melee, but the atom splitter makes up for it

The greatest loss for me was the removal of Nanoblack Reaper's melee version ngl. It would make fights soo much easier for me...
Sacrifice makes up for the “sacrifice” of illustrious knives as it’s a post scal rouge life-steal weapon

Deathstare’s a pretty good weapon for pre hard mode due to its decent damage output
I thought of the idea of Apotheosis getting a rework to just summon a full size DoG, and now seeing it in actuality feels even cooler than how I imagined
I feel like it would be funny if the apotheosis Makes a few remarks towards the player upon its first summoning
I like how Summoner is actually expanded upon as like... This strange magick, rather than just a class, with the addition of some summons actually being able to outright *attack you* . Like, this isn't just a controller class now, summoning's about creating monsters to fight for you, but even then, they're still monsters of chaos and destruction; to the point where, even if you put them under your control, not even *you* can stop their tendencies.

With summoner being my favorite class I'm glad to see that they got the coolest weapons in the new update. I still prefer the thorium experience tho lol.
I literally drew something very, very similar to the surge driver in a notebook and it even fired the same as I didn't know that the calamity mod existed
It should also be worth noting that the Scarlet Devil got a big rework that makes it even better than before

with the right gear I was able to get rancor to deal around 25000000 DPS, though I was using soul of eternity and other stuff from Fargo's mod
