Watching this in 2022 lol. Just having a spring clean and found my Arc S, my Ray and Z1 Compact (without a screen). The Arc S was my first android device and loved it and had Xperias ever since. Theming android was so much easier back then :)
I have this phone and it has, by far, been the best phone i have ever had!! I highly recomend this phone, even though it isnt as amazing as the iphones or other better phones, it still is a very attractive and affordable phone!! Its great!!
I was told Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S would no longer be in stock cuz this is the final one for the Sony Ericsson company. Thank god I did not sell mine.
Commenting via experia arc :] seriously this phone is amazing people iv had it for 2 months and still finding new things to do, very thin and stylish bright screen it makes a blackberry look like a post 50s dile phone, if you get one expect compliments.
You are in exactly the same situation as me. I had an HTC Desire HD and am planning to get a One X successor at the end of this year so i ended up using the ARC S as a temporary backup phone while i sold my DHD. The timescape UI can never be compared to sense in terms of looks, animations and seamless linking the Sense 3.0+UI has...but that said, the arc S is definitely a much better looker externally than DHD
@XclusiveAaron I think the sony UX interface shell is the thing that DOES make it look elegant just like on the other xperia's neet and nice elegant graphics such as the liquified icons when you drag them.
@CoSaBaZy I was faced with the same question. Eventually I went with the SE ARC S. It's slightly smaller, more comfortable to hold and is cheaper by about €100. It's also arguably more directed towards video/photo functionality with the physical camera button and panoramic shots and has a better music player, two things I was definitely looking for.
@moonlight0123456 actually I'm almost positive theres a front and back camera. I know you can use the front for some sort of video calls. Not sure if you can take pictures, but i know its a camera.
@DuudeWhatDoesMineSay there is no "look" to android. u can customize it and make it look like whatever you want. the arc uses a sony skin so it looks like that.
S-TFT-LCD is not most advanced LCD. it was developed by samsung back in 2004. (its tech i meant). most advanced LCD is AH-IPS-LCD. anyway. sony could use s-lcd cuz they co joint with samsung (what Sony used to use was called L-LCD), AUO also produce slcd cuz they cross licensed with samsung. sharp too cuz they co joint with sony.
@blinblinthing I don't see any Windows Phones lag though, they all ran extremely smooth... On Android only some handsets remain smooth. On iPhone... there are occasional lags, but not much.

Ik heb zelf recent een ipod touch aangeschaft, dat is leuk, maar die extra's van de Arc s, met bijvoorbeeld die bravia engine, die super camera en timescape vind ik toch een meerwaarde hebben over de degelijkheid van ipod/phone
arc s because it alreadu has an ICS update while among all the SE phones released last year, the only phone that wont get an ICS update would be xperia PLAY. :))
@FeatEM sony doesnt even have own OS. y try to argue on bada?? xperia arc is android phone, so is galaxy phones. they use their own custom UI, like blurr, sense, touchwiz, xperia.
@Juliaker Hoi, ik heb de telefoon bij the phone house besteld. Ze liggen nu ook in de winkel. Ze worden momenteel alleen nog maar simlock vrij aangeboden, dus je hebt ruime keus uit abbonomenten je erbij wilt hebben. Alleen winkels vinden is lastiger, dus: phonehouse!

The place of the audio jack on the left side (not on top or bottom) is odd, especially at this size of a phone. Somebody who use this phone please tell me how you manage this "problem" when listening music with the phone in your pocket?
Hey guys, I just bought the phone but I have a problem with connecting to the WIFI it is connected it has signal but it is unable to do any browsing, or open the market or what ever. Do you have this problem the phone is brand new bought from an authorised dealer.
im mainly a HTC user. the reason behind that is the sense UI, which is simply beautiful... does anyone know if i would be disapointed if i get this one? i currently own a Desire HD, but i kinda want to breath fresh air and get a new brand for a change. I may buy this and give as a gift to my wife, but i just wanna know if the UI will live up to HTC sense, since my wife likes sense as well. so, any HTC users around to give me a hint?

It's supposed to be an International Review so that anyone can watch it not wondering what the heck is that guy saying. As i just hate when i come across a good review of some gadget i like to check out, and as it turns out it's in french. I don't have any problems with other languages as my native is not english but if you're gonna do a review, at least respect other nationalities by assuming they too know english or you do this brilliant idea. Everyone understands what has been shown.

I hav to admit, after having the galaxy s2, i still think this phone has a sexier and sleek design than the galaxy s2
