The rule for stem-changing verbs (which mean turning a stressed “ae”, “e” “o” from a Latin word into a diphthong) also goes for nouns and adjectives. Here are some I know: bien (from Latin “bene”) bueno (from Latin “bonus”) ciego (from Latin “caecus”) cuerpo (from Latin “corpus”) diente (from Latin “dēns”) fuerte (from Latin “fortis”)
1. Tú siempre acuestas en el piso. ¿Por qué no "Siempre te acuestas en el piso."? 2. Nosotros empezamos la clase a las nueve en punto. 3. El profesor siempre piede silencio antes de empezar. 4. Juan y Luisa nunca cierran la puerta al salir. 5. Yo no puedo ir, pero Luis y Ana sí pueden. 6. Yo pagué con trajeta en la tienda ayer. I noticed how you slipped the word "vocalic changes" in the lesson. Would that be the same as "orthographic changes"? Also, you posed the phrase "¿ tú qué pides? Should it not be "¿Qué pides tú?", because in spanish to ask a simple question in involves placing the conjugated verb in front of the subject? As always, it was a very informative video.
Perfect! You did notice that we need to use a reflexive pronoun 😉... About the order of the pronoun in questions, both are correct! 🤭 And of course, if you don't want to get in trouble, you can simply omit the pronoun and say "¿qué pides?".
