It worked! I thought it didn't for a minute, but then realized I missed your step of copying and pasting the image over the top of itself in the preview window, then copying that second image and pasting it into PDF. If anyone is having an issue getting this to work for yourself, make sure you don't miss that step.

Is this for older versions of Mac OS? I can't seem to get it to work. Edit: I got it to work. You must physically resize the image (make it smaller) before you cut. After that, you can cut and paste successfully.

If you miss a step, you won't be able to paste the image. I've tested this technique on multiple operating systems, including macOS Ventura, and haven't encountered any issues. Keep in mind that the pasted image may appear at the bottom of your PDF document, so you may need to scroll down to see it. Additionally, if the image is too large, it may not be possible to paste it into the PDF file. For example, I tried to paste an image with the following dimensions, but it didn't work. Width: 7900 Pixels Height: 4688 Pixels Resolution: 300 Pixels/Inch I changed the image size to the following dimensions and I could paste it. You can rotate an image in the preview application by using a trackpad. First, ensure that the ‘Rotate’ option is checked in the preferences. Go to System Preferences, click on the Trackpad icon, click on the ‘Scroll & Zoom’ tab, select ‘Rotate’ and close the preferences window. Next, make sure your pasted image is selected in the Preview application. Put your index fingers (left & right) on the trackpad and move them in a rotating manner. It worked! I thought it didn't for a minute, but then realized I missed your step of copying and pasting the image over the top of itself in the preview window, then copying that second image and pasting it into PDF. If anyone is having an issue getting this to work for yourself, make sure you don't miss that step.

Is this for older versions of Mac OS? I can't seem to get it to work.
Edit: I got it to work. You must physically resize the image (make it smaller) before you cut. After that, you can cut and paste successfully.

It's important to follow all the steps when copying and pasting an image into your PDF file. If you miss a step, you won't be able to paste the image. I've tested this technique on multiple operating systems, including macOS Ventura, and haven't encountered any issues.
Keep in mind that the pasted image may appear at the bottom of your PDF document, so you may need to scroll down to see it. Additionally, if the image is too large, it may not be possible to paste it into the PDF file. For example, I tried to paste an image with the following dimensions, but it didn't work.
Width: 7900 Pixels
Height: 4688 Pixels
Resolution: 300 Pixels/Inch
I changed the image size to the following dimensions and I could paste it.
Width: 5000 Pixels
Height: 2967 Pixels
Resolution: 300 Pixels/Inch

Please try the following solutions:
1. Go to System Preferences, click on the ‘Displays' icon, and under the brightness slider, uncheck ‘Automatically adjust brightness.’
2. Go to System Preferences, click on the ‘Battery’ icon, and next click on the ‘Battery’ in the left pane; you might have to enter your password and uncheck “Slightly dim the battery while on battery power.”
3. Go to System Preferences, click the ‘Display’ icon, and uncheck the box next to ‘True Tone.’

2. Open your screenshot in the Preview Application by double-clicking on it or dragging the screenshot over the preview icon to open it.
3. Press Command + A to select the screenshot.
4. Press Command + C to copy the screenshot to the clipboard.
5. Press Command + V to paste the image into the SAME WINDOW over the screenshot. You should see eight resizing handles around your image.
6. Press Command + C to copy the image, which has eight handles, to the clipboard
7. Click on your PDF document to bring it forward.
8. Press Command + V on your keyboard to paste the image into your PDF document
You must scroll down to see the pasted image if your PDF is long.
If the Paste option is greyed out, return to the image with EIGHT HANDLES, copy it again, and paste it into your PDF.

Hey how do I rotate the image that I inserted
You can rotate an image in the preview application by using a trackpad.
First, ensure that the ‘Rotate’ option is checked in the preferences.
Go to System Preferences, click on the Trackpad icon, click on the ‘Scroll & Zoom’ tab, select ‘Rotate’ and close the preferences window.
Next, make sure your pasted image is selected in the Preview application. Put your index fingers (left & right) on the trackpad and move them in a rotating manner.
If you don’t have a trackpad, you need to use another application such as Pixelmator or Affinity Photo, etc.
