If's she's anything like Lobo in my experience, then I'll get every other Pretender before getting her (I got him before Kama and Ranmaru were in NA, but after my Spishtar was np 2, Gorgon np 3, Mango at np 3 I think, and every other avenger at np1)

They were most likely lovers, Macedonian culture was pretty much the same as the Greek one so that kind of thing wouldn't be a rare occurrence (not saying it doesn't happened in other cultures, just that the Greek were specially notorious for it)
Case Files spoilers but….. The Hephastion we summon in game is the fictional twin of the real life Hephastion who, in the world of Fate, acted as a body double for Iskander (somehow) and the target for any curses that others sent his way. This is why her third skill acts the way it does.
Probably a way to explain why Alexander's portrayals are all normal-sized instead of gigantic or something, haha. At least, that's how it makes sense to me.
Surprisingly fate's depiction of Hephaestion only comes in second for most liberties taking by an anime. That honor goes to the version of Hephaestion that is literally a split personally of Alexander brought about from Olympias (Alexander's mother) being well Olympias.... This comes from a manga called Historie and despite the above description its a real good history manga about one of Alexander's main generals.
Mind you, Fate actually does have a male Hephaestion. Faker doesn't even really have a name of her own. (Though the Pretender class is the class of taking liberties with source material.)
These history segments are genuinely so good. I've never heard the stories relating to Hephaestion before, so it's nice to learn some actual history with Fate 😂 And I feel like having the historical context can add a lot to enjoying the game's story as well.
It never feels like a waste to learn about any of the fate characters since they are pulled from real(ish) history. And it's easy to be introduced to since we all know at least a little history, but with a story like geshin impact I have no familiarity with it's lore.
Nice story time! Blessing of the Nameless should give her the same poison niches that Molay and Gogh. At the very least she needs to deal bonus damage to poisoned enemies. And she can then synergies with poison damage CEs and CCs. Her Camouflage skill is basically a unique version of Presence Concealment. So this fits the poison niche perfectly.
While the history lesson is interesting and much appreciated, I feel it necessary to mention, THIS Hephaestion isn't the actual Hephaestion. It's explained in El-Melloi II's Case Files, this Hephaestion is a fate-original character, the real Hephaestion's sister. She wasn't born with a name (but was later named "Faker" by Doctor Heartless), and was groomed by Iskandar's mother to act in his stead, as well as be a redirected target for any curses aimed at Iskandar. This is the reason her third skill has the name and effect it does. It's also why, in Fate/Zero, the historical descriptions of Iskandar are so inaccurate; his mother worked to create much discord around his physical appearance so it could be reasonably believed that Iskandar could be female, and Faker's lie could work. Iskandar himself, perhaps feeling quite guilty, tried to give Faker a name several times, but she always declined due to her fierce loyalty to him. At least... she was loyal, until she died, went to the Throne of Heroes, got the info-dump on what happened after her own death when Iskandar used the Ionioi Hetairoi, and declined in anger because of it. And yes, that is the reason she didn't appear in the Ionioi Hetairoi in Fate/Zero. Hephaestion did, but Faker didn't.
I swear they made her perfect for 90+ nodes and gave her insane value by making her, especially for camelot due to all the knights, and she can somewhat deal with the odd caster enemies
Faker is what I am going to originally pick the free SR ticket for, but Pretender Liz Welfare is there in the future, so I'm going to pick the other Story Lock Servants that have a lot of Buffs and Interludes that I don't have for maximum Saint Quartz acquirement.
I like that she has a well-rounded, cohesive kit that also has a unique and useful gimmick. It's almost like lazdongle actually knew what they were doing with her. I also like her design. Even in her origin series, I already thought she was hot. Ascension 2 is particularly tasty with dem gams.
Iskandar is one of my favourite Riders and I loved him on Fate Zero. Unfortunately, I only have his 3 star version on my Chaldea. So I will honor the King of Bros by Summoning Hephaestion.

a fun comp you can do with hephastion is with double habetrot hephastion on the highest qp node, as long as both habetrots have append 2 maxed, you can do 6ce on that node
I’m still baffled at getting her from a single, I was going to go for some ces for the event but instead got her so I just decided not to roll anymore :p. So far she is quite fun and that 2nd skill for instant np is nice.

@castergilgamesh5588 If it helps, it is implied in both Case Files and pretender Hephaistion's servant profile that the her brother, the real Hephaistion, still exists in the Fate universe and had the same relationship with Iskandar that he had in real history. He just hasn't actually shown up as a servant yet.

@@arkaua because his demarits are way too steep for me, like, I get if you pair him with double Koyansya and him, you get easy 10 mil dmg but the fact that I just lose a character and all of there buffs the next turn after, is what pushes me away, especially his np where it makes all of the enemies immune
@@yamiliashirosia This works perfectly for 3-turn 90++ farming. Swap him in on the third turn, fire off your 10M damage, and it doesn't matter if your main attacker freezes. The fight is over. That honestly seems to be his main job. Alternatively, use him for boss raids. Anything with stupid high HP and no break bars (or when the boss is down to the last HP bar). Mothboi is the definition of go big or go home one and done. He's not built for slugging matches.

@@arkaua it still doesn't change the fact that you have to play very meticulously just for him to be good, I like servants that are brain dead op, aka beast nero and ruler méusine, with ruler méusine, all I need to do is get her np and loop until everything is dead and with beast nero it's hit it till it dies, which most of the time, they will cause she has so much crit dmg
