    I dont think Palpatine or anakin/vader knew about grogu. Knowing yodas strength, they would have surely wanted grogu eliminated. To ensure that there wasn't two of yodas species in existence after the empires rise.

    Seeing how quick and efficient Grogu’s escape was, I think the Jedi must have had an escape plan. That would suggest that the Jedi protecting him were in fact a security detail. Because no one was expecting the attack on the temple, they would’ve had a just-in-case plan.

      @@Fuzzmo147 That one sentence is big. I wonder who was supposed to escape. The female Jedi that died in the elevator with Grogu also says "Get him to Kelleran!" which means the escape plan included Beq. At this point in time the Council does suspect that at the very least Palps has some sort of dealings with the secret Sith Lord. I imagine suspecting that would motivate them to make an escape plan, I just find it weird how they went with Naboo seeing as that's Palps homeworld too. I know Padme was doing something politically with Bail and Mon to try and remove Palps from power so that's likely where the connection is being drawn rather then SIdious but I like to think part of this contingency was working with Jar Jar and the Gungans rather then Padme
      I hope Palps had nothing to do with this and it is Jar Jar or Padme. Would be a massive slap to Palps to find out his Homeworld aided in securing the one asset he would have really wanted out of the Temple (something connected to the Grand Master himself as they're both the same species)

Those that were not deployed for the current war were trapped inside the temple when it was besieged from all sides by hundreds of troopers. Realistically unless they had anticipated and evacuated prior there was little they could do given the numbers while being surrounded. While more troopers could easily pour into the temple there wasn't anyone coming to save the Jedi, and any stragglers were picked off by Vader.

      @@nickyson4life My two cents: after the bombing of the Temple and knowing there was a Sith Lord around, the Jedi implemented an evacuation protocol for the younglings, and it definitely involved someone from the Senate, perhaps even Naboo specifically. Of course, a betrayal by one of their own and full-fledged attack by hundreds of clones with no warning was something they did not really prepare for. Perhaps Beq was supposed to "save the younglings" but since most younglings were caught off-guard during their lessons, only Grogu (the most powerful of all the younglings) could be saved.

    (Spoilers on Jedi fallen order and Obi-wan)
    Well grogu wasn’t the only youngling to survive. I assume this because 1 we know of others and 2 I’m pretty sure Kal wasn’t the only young padawan that wasn’t being trained on Coruscant. From the flash backs in game, and if we use Clone wars as an example as well, some youngling padawans seemed to be trained on war ships. Yes technically they weren’t younglings anymore because they were starting padawan training but still they were young. But now also knowing that Reva survived who’s to say that other children didn’t do the same and or were able to make it out of the temple and live underground and in hiding like other jedi? Which is the main reason why Inquisitors were so important because there were still many younglings/panadwans that could have survived the purge. As for Grogu, I think that yes he was separated because of his race. Mostly due to his age as he was still considered a baby. But also that if fallen into the wrong hands Grogu could be killed and or twisted into something awful. Especially knowing that if Yoda had turned it to the dark it would have been devastating. Imagine if Grogu was turned to the dark side. With how strong he is now as just a child within his race. It could have been detrimental to the galaxy. And since the council obviously knew a sith was behind everything keeping Grogu a secret from EVERYONE would have been the only way to keep him safe. But his mind going dark does make me wonder that perhaps he was stored in carbonate like others were saying or something like that. Maybe a deep sleep meditation? Where he was cut off from the world/the force and protected till imperial forces found him? Either way I’m excited to learn more about our little friend.

    As cool as that scene with Kelloran Beq was, one thing that bugged me was despite being so skilled as to take out dozens of Clone Troopers with ease and escape with Grogu, he didn't bother to try and save anyone else. Sure, maybe it would have been risky to go deeper into the temple and be overwhelmed by Clones or even Vader, but I would have liked to see him at least TRY. I[m sure a young Reva would have appreciated his help.
    I also wonder if Kelloran saw Anakin slaughtering the other younglings and thus knows Vader's true identity. If he survived Order 66 and went into hiding after taking Grogu somewhere safe, I wonder if he'll show up again in Kenobi Season 2.
    Another thought occurred to me... In Empire Strikes Back, as Luke takes off in his X-Wing to rescue Han and Leia, Obi Wan's Force Ghost says "That boy was our last hope." And Yoda replies "No...there is another." Originally this "other" was meant to be Leia...but I wonder if Yoda might have ALSO been thinking about Grogu in that moment. Sure, Grogu was too young to fight Vader and Sidious, but he still represents a future for the Jedi since his species is so long-lived.

    Grugu's parents must be Yaddle and Yoda. Keep in mind, she had left the Jedi council prior to the Clone Wars. Yoda was the most powerful of all the Jedi, while Mace Windu was the only Jedi that could never be beaten in single combat.

    The force always tries to find balance. Maybe the force knew Anakin would turn to the dark side eventually and so Grogu was born the same year, knowing he would be more of a light side force user, for balance? 🤷🏼‍♀️ The force works in mysterious ways.

    I got a quite odd theory about the species it self, like there can only ever be 2 or 3 of them at once, no more no less, so if one dies, a new starts instantly, but this new one has the knowledge of the one who died, this meen Grogu most likely have the knowledge of Yaddle but not yoda, this would also meens that when this all his happening, there is one other out there somewhere also, who most likely have the knowledge of yoda

    Grogu is yodas son (he is his spiritual successor if not directly, Yoda was originally designed as a meeting of the minds of the greater will like a boddhistava or something and not a species) but biologically probably asexual and lay a egg or something which is why he launches the assault on Vader and Sidious so his son can escape (his child would not be kept among the other younglings who were in training since youth but I imagine yodas species would be masters since birth)

    Some observations:
    - if Grogu was born around the same time as Anakin, this could be a way for writers to turn Grogu into “the chosen one” as opposed to Anakin or Rey carrying that title. Who knows?
    - Obviously this wasn’t part of George Lucas’ story, but with Grogu in the mix now, it could be Sidious told Anakin to kill the younglings cause Sidious wanted Grogu dead specifically and only thought Anakin was up to the task. He didn’t specify it, Anakin said he took care of it and Sidious thought that meant Grogu too. Sidious could have feared Grogu. This is great material for writers to work with.

  • @supermoviebros.847
    @supermoviebros.847 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Simply put. To have Grogu in the show. They had to explain how he survived 66. So they wrote this into the story. I always thought Anakin killing the younglings was ordered to further indoctrinate Anakin further towards the Darkside. If he’s given a task that is too horrific to be forgiven he would be more likely to continue down a dark path rather then resist. Many cults have implored a similar tactic.

    Grogu may have been so strong in Force when he was born, Yoda's people may have contacted him in secret to examine the Child. Yoda probably saw in the Force that Grogu had a great destiny with Jedi along with Galaxy at large and that it was the will of Force. But also saw that Grogu would be endanger as a youngling. So Yoda decided to have Grogu brought to the Jedi Temple to safe, sequestered and trained in secret. With a group of Jedi teachers/protectors around him at all times. Though Jedi were not prepared for Order 66, the preparations already made for Grogu probably helped save him. Even if his Jedi protectors didn't see the threat coming until it was right on top of them.

    I suspect that various people wanted him saved. All the signs are that there were various people at work (good, bad, pragmatic) who wanted his DNA and this has already been a big feature of the Mandalorian plot previously. I imagine they will use Grogu's escape as a means to bring in other villains etc. who were a bit more sophisticated/nuanced than those we saw in the prequels. Presently, there is no real sense of peril in Mando and I am sure they will start to build this back into the story ...

    Weird thing I just thought of, if grogu and Anakin are around the same age. And Darth Sidious helped create Anakin for dark side purposes. Maybe the Jedi helped make Grogu for their own purposes. Maybe that’s why they were so doubtful that Skywalker was the chosen one. Idk, just a theory.

    • @longshotfilms1
      @longshotfilms1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hold up. Just thought about it, in that time of the galaxy (birth of Anakin) the Force was being balanced by the father. If the Jedi were to get a chosen one, maybe the sith got a powerful user as well to offset the Jedi. Of course there are holes to this theory. The chosen one was a Jedi prophecy after all.

    • @pilzner1118
      @pilzner1118 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@longshotfilms1 the chosen one is not just a Jedi prophecy, the father son & daughter have no affiliation with the Jedi order, and the father himself confirmed that Anakin was the chosen one. That prophecy came from the Wills and got passed down, but it’s not strictly a Jedi prophecy

    A common trope among sci-fi is that the longer species lives the slower they reproduce. It's possible the Yoda species has a very small population due to their longevit, if that's the case Yoda and yaddle keeping him a secret regardless of their potential relationship would make perfect sense. It would also explain why so many Jedi we're protecting him. Just my personal head canon, but food for thought nonetheless.

  • @gbrad1409

    He was 50 and was still a child. If he was put with younglins, then by the time he graduated those same younglins would of grown old and died. It wouldn't of been practical to be trained with them as he's training would of been much slower then that of a human. He might even of out lived he's master before he's training was complete

    Sidious had Anakin kill the younglings for two reasons. 1, To prove his loyalty and turn him more to the dark side. and 2, to eliminate future threats from the Jedi younglings when they grew up. It's possible that Anakin and Sidious had no idea about Grogu's existence.

    The Grogu stuff was interesting and moving, I kinda teared up a little when the armorer put that rondel on him. But... I'm getting a little tired of those monster fights. Another poor creature gets whacked for following its natural impulses to feed and protect its young... but hey, its babies get to be foundlings in the tribe of their mother's killers, so hurrah. Seriously though, what do the creatures on that planet eat when they can't get Mandalorian. The whole place looks arid and mostly lifeless. Just like Obi-Wan in _A New Hope,_ this show is starting to make me feel "too old for this sort of thing". I often find myself wanting to enjoy it, but unable to ignore the silliness. I mean come on, the Ragnar kid is still alive after a night with all the rescuers camping out at the foot of the cliifs? And the helmets-on rule gets harder and harder to take seriously. I was actually thankful the armorer wasn't making a little one for Grogu.

    Vader killing the young Jedi was supposed to cement him to the dark side as an unforgivable act, the Jedi would never take him back or forgive him. But motives matter and palpatine miscalculated anakins heart.
    Anakin viewed it largely as a mercy killing. They would have been tortured and killed worse off by the empire. Or turned to sith and forced to fight each other. And his confidence in the Jedi had just been shattered. He was saving them from being miserable Jedis like he was. And he was temporarily insane from his grief with padme. Life is pain sort of thing. He was sparing them from life. This is how even years later luke sensed some good in Vader still. Even after this horrible crime and more obtrocities later.
