And there were certainly no sunken ruins at that time, so getting started would have been extremely painful. Edit: Although, did you even end up using the chest loot? You can still force the game to spawn you in water by using the right seed and turning generate structures off. Probably not very practical for several reasons: A. Mining underwater is slow cuz the treasure can be underwater or the map itself is underwater. B. Slow mining means drowning, and this is especially bad for Bedrock since there way more waterloggable, so Door strat wouldn't work for example. C. Finding the treasure map is risky since you gotta do A. and you can potentially touch the floor of the ship or being bombarded by Drowneds in Ocean Ruins.

3:18 imagine living your best life in the village when some mute guy puts boats on the ground. Gets from one to another. Stays in your house for a night. Robs you and then leaves.
The reason this challenge even works at all in Bedrock is because of how Bedrock designates a world spawn point. On Java, it picks a chunk and designates it as a spawn chunk. Each time you die, you spawn on any block within that chunk. I guess the spawn chunk has to be solid blocks. On Bedrock, there is no spawn chunk. Instead, the spawn is a specific area between four blocks, and a radius outside of those blocks. If the spawn radius is compromised, say someone chucks lava down, it will spawn you in the nearest safe point - even outside the designated area if necessary. I guess being in water is considered safe enough for a spawn point on Bedrock. I only figured any of this out because, while I don't tend to stray far from the world spawn zone, I don't tend to set up permanent base on it. I have the habit of setting up a little habitat on the spawn zone on any long-term world as a fallback in case I die with no bed spawn, and realised Bedrock's spawning logic behaved differently to what I was used to because I would constantly lava-respawn myself on the spawn chunk, and dig a trench to figure out the exact dimensions of the spawn chunk.
this is a nice proof of concept. i wish you would've framed it as such, because as an explanation of how it COULD be done, this video would've been great! but claiming you HAVE done it isn't the way to go here.

To be able to retrace steps, he needed to have previously intentionally placed extra boats just in case he died. Maybe he did, but he didn't mention it.
Not saying it's definitely cheating, just that I'd like more explanation that just "I made it back"
@@Benw8888 he boated off camera
I'm almost convinced the whole run is cheated, his bow magically regains durability multiple times throughout the video, and unless it's just weird editing magic, it's really suspicious. I doubt the clips are for some reason out of order, or he swaps to a different bow multiple times. There's the issue that you mentioned as well of him getting back to previous death points without extra wood being really weird, and there's also the part where he doesn't have enough eyes in the stronghold. Him suddenly having enough after a jump cut isn't even the issue here, it's more the fact that he couldn't have gotten his horse out of the stronghold. Fairly sure there's a part of the video near the beginning where he accidentally exits the boat and gets back in it, because the "press space to get out" text is visible
@@_xgreex_ These are all valid points! I myself wouldn’t have noticed since I tend to miss extremely obvious things easily. I’ll have to go back and look for myself! I suppose the run was a proof of concept kind of thing anyways, but claiming it as legit when it might not have been is scummy.
5:09 yeah us on bedrock have some slow horses but you got crazy unlucky with those two. usually they're at least faster than sprinting.
I haven't tested in newer versions but you definitely can spawn in the middle of an ocean on java 1.16
If you wanted to improve this run, diamonds can also be found in buries treasure in stacks of 1-3 (at least in java)
bedrock too but honestly digging up a treasure might just be worse
Probably not very practical for several reasons:
A. Mining underwater is slow cuz the treasure can be underwater or the map itself is underwater.
B. Slow mining means drowning, and this is especially bad for Bedrock since there way more waterloggable, so Door strat wouldn't work for example.
C. Finding the treasure map is risky since you gotta do A. and you can potentially touch the floor of the ship or being bombarded by Drowneds in Ocean Ruins.
you disgust me
@@user-tzzglsstle585e38 It's quite commo for treasures to spawn under dry land, but that opens up a whole new can of worms
This would not at all be practical because you can’t find the treasure with f3 in bedrock
When I saw the title it read "Turns Out You Can Beat Minecraft Without Stepping on..." I assumed that this was stone or grass while contemplating clicking. Eventually I clicked, not because I was interested, but whether to see if it was grass or stone. Damn I was wrong. Blocks? How.
0:12 then there is martin, i mean he wouldnt able to beat minecraft skyblock with only one tree if he didnt have the mod to make villagers give him a lava bucket.
There's actually possible way of doing this in Java. You can't spawn in liquids but you can spawn on blocks like bed ladder which are insanely rare
Beds and ladders are both blocks though
"on blocks" so, not possible then
You can start in liquids. Whenever i try playing hardcore i spawn in middle of giant ocan and i give up.
@@sprousprou
Beds yes.
But just like water blocks, ladders can be used without being stepped on.

@@riverwater6969 Bedrock does have really good optimization, and I'm glad they added an option to fix the delay that the game had. it definitely feels better than it used to.
Have you tried running the Fabulously Optimized modpack for the Java version? Gives an insane performance increase. It's one of the most downloaded packs for the game. I highly suggest it. Not saying that it'll work 100% for you, but it's something to at least try. I also suggest an older version (maybe 1.19.2), because older versions have more mods for better optimization. But there is the newest versions out as well, just not as optimized.
@@BigFry9591 yeah it is better than it used to but I much would prefer to run Java but my brother spent almost 1500 dollars on his pc and monitor and I think that's insane I have like a 200 dollar hp computer and it is ghetto but if I could try all that out I so would I played on a computer once at nemesis (a gaming place in my town) and it was difficult with the controls but i would get used to it. Well, bedrock is the main version of Minecraft.
Or alternatively, you just do a creative any% and fly over literally every single block
I would like to see the full run because this feels cheated with a lot of editing. and he didn't show the stats table at the end. So I am not convinced at all rn. Props for finding the strategies though.
bedrock doesn't have a stats table
@@chri-k Thanks for letting me know
Even without the stats table, I think it’s not exactly legit due to the editing. Yes I know creators want to shorten their videos for convenience, but having raw footage of the entire thing as a separate video would prove if it was or not.
@@alfoes101 does this even really matter?
The point of the video was to prove that it is possible, not to actually do it.
@@chri-k In the video he claims to have done it, so this does not aline with your thought exactly. And this does indeed matter because living in a world without legitimacy would be cruel. Thus I seek evidence. As far I know it matters to me.
The slow hardy horse was actually the perfect build for this run! The faster horses have less health and probably would’ve died in the End
That’s not how horses work

I've beaten minecraft without stepping on any blocks before!
You just need to use creative mode or the no blocks mod!
Ive never played bedrock and I remember spawning in watter, theymust have change it someday.
