This video makes me feel so old.. There's an old concept that the moon was made of cheese. The concept started in the 1500's with a proverb: "The moon is made of greene cheese" which was synonymous with "a big hoax". So, it's fitting that they'd go for this in the April Fools update. It was still a widely popular idiom when I was a kid. Regarding the cows; "Hey, diddle diddle" was really, really well known when I was a kid. If you've ever heard of mother goose or the term "over the moon" it's all related. It goes: "Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, The cow jumped over the moon; The little dog laughed, to see such a sport, and the Fork ran away with the Spoon." It's from the 1500's from what I remember of it, and quite silly. But even in the 1990's it was widely read to children for entertainment. You mix the moon is made of cheese (which was also part of nursery rhymes!) and the cow jumped over the moon.. and bam. Aerated cows. As others have mentioned, the 3D update was very much a reference to old shooters. You can see this concept in modern days making a comeback as well; like Iron Lung, Cruelty Squad, etc. The cheat codes were a nice touch though. They were mostly old codes and references from 1980's-1990's media. POWEROVERWHELMING was a Starcraft cheat that grants invincibility and gives you some extra mobs on your team. Pigs on the wing is a Pink Floyd song, but when you put it in there's a text prompt that says "FLYING = VERY YES". This is a very very old internet meme reference from a guy named Strongbad. The guy used to make videos about answering his emails in flash, and one episode started a silly few silly memes. The name of the episode? "FLAGRANT SYSTEM ERROR VIRUS = VERY YES." FLASHAAAAA was another code in this that's more of a media reference. Flash Gordon! IDFKA was the weapon cheat in the original doom game, fitting! MOREDAKKA is a Warhammer 40k reference, as others have stated. HOWDOYOUTURNTHISON was a code to spawn a car in the old Age Of Empires games. Finally "There is no secret cow level" is from Diablo 1. There was also a code in this snapshot for "NEEEERD" which, well. A few of us have heard that term of endearment for a long time. The code spawned a creeper with a coat and glasses. Interestingly with the "Doom" update you also had a straight-title screen text that calls it Doom. "Doom 2 - Completely not related to other games named Doom. This one is about gardening." Which is a huge inspiration for this update. You can really see it with the barrels which were a staple. Funny enough, there's a title/loading screen that says "LOADING MINECRAFT.WAD" which is how old Doom levels were stored. On launch of the game for the 3D shareware update, it had a splash screen with the Mojang name being said aloud just like the really old game splashes. Back in the day when you launched a Sega game, it would sing "Sega" at you. Same concept. You can actually see this still in Project Diva games. It's so iconic when Sega stopped doing it, modders put it back in. There's a "Thank you for playing!" reference as well-- which came from a ending screen in Wing Commander. It was actually a converted error message. Yoko Taro still uses this in almost every game he makes for beating it 100%. Really good video. This took me back.

*cries in a corner when you tried to describe everything in the 3D update* I'M NOT OLD! FUCK!
no because love and hugs is so cute 😭😭
i need that heart wand.
omfg the heart particles when it rains 😭😭
the smart watch being annoying is so real of you LOL
i love the trendy one 😂
the 3D one is giving me a headache
0:12 ha wouldnt it be funny if in the future Microsoft added micro transactions to the game
NOT FUNNY
They did…

Ankle monitor: "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING IN A FOREIGN DIMENSION?? YOU'RE ON HOUSE ARREST"
17:30 IIRC, this was a bug, where if nether portals were built “sideways” they would not light! It was based on world rotation and how the blocks looked for the obsidian frame or something silly.

So I'm essentially **Invincible title card**
"So, after about 30 attempts-"

"So, after about 31 attempts,"
You're telling me for the heart one he didnt just try to hit them with any tool other than the heart tool?
I was thinking that too lol
At 10:00 forwards we see that using any tool give hearts...
Tips for one block at a time
1. You have to slots just press F
2. To beat the game ride the dragen and the portal will appear
YOOOO NEW TREYOVARD VIDEO LETS GOOOO
Giving alias to the april fools updates.
Minecraft 2.0: If Rain World's ???* was playable in Minecraft.
Love & Hugs: The Almighty Sex Update.
Trendy: Gen alpha exists yk?
3D: Minecraft before beta.
Ultimate content: Minecraft for children.
One block at a time: Patience Simulator.
Vote: Shitpost.
*???, also known as Inv, is a joke character that's also a pain to deal being as for similar reasons to what Trey suffered.
You had an axe, axes do more damage than a sword anyway so you could've attacked in the love and hearts update. Did you even try
what i was thinking
He already replied to other comments saying it doesn't work....
Are U thick in the head?
In the vote update you can actually drink empty air bottles for air, that way you can survive infinitely on the moon
legends said only the strongest krork can have enough dakka
This video is incredibly well put together, great editing and succint commentary AND the drama????!!? I was on the edge of my seat the whole time LOL great stuff!!
Poisonous potato update:allow me to introduce myself
Ahh the days where the dragon would personally attack you
This is so good! Best video yet! Seriously professional editing and you are hilarious btw ❤
Makes sense you beat the love and hugs update by bedding the ender dragon. Also, dude, not knowing what Dakka is negatively impacts your gamer credit. It means firepower, it's something from 40k to do with orkz and the sound their shootahs make
19:35 "Moredakka, which i don't even know what that means"
I'll tell ya what it means, ahem...

Fun fact: The one block at a time Endermans at the end, They can get stuff that COULDNT be obtained in every verson of normal minecraft
bro really thought of tnt first before water to hurt the enderman
They would teleport out....
How will you trap them?
The ENTER gimmick in 3D is trying to mimic old DOS games where you had to insert Floppy Discs to load different sections of the map.
April Fools has become more update than recent updates ever have been.
Probably cause they put all that effort into the April fools updates instead of the 'big' updates
@@hatter10880 No its because the april fools updates don't effect the game in the long term, so, so Microsoft doesn't over-moderate them like normal updates
Also because nobody cares if stuff is broken, unfun, useless, or dumb in an April fools update, so the devs are just allowed to make whatever without bugfixes and probably minimal quality control
“ONE OF THOSE KIDS WHO WEAR A FOX TAILS” IM CRYINNGGG💀💀
THE COOKIE FOOT LONG IS BAAAAAACCK
In the love and hugs update, you should've just pushed the endermen into water
this guys style makes me feel like im watching a
gen alpha small attention span vid
?
They put more effort into the April fools updates than real ones.
“and was one of those kids who wore a fox tail”
I FEEL SO CALLED OUT RN 😭😭
The strung narrative of Minecraft 2.0, foreshadowing, and humor of this video is 👌
7:53 water would’ve been simpler
Fun fact: the cheese block in the Vote update is the closest we can get to vertical slabs
bro you had a axe why didnt you used the axe when love and hugs
That’s a good point
It doesnt work, trying to do any damage doesnt work, even with fists
Y̺e̺a̺h̺
more dakka is a warhammer 40k reference DAKKA is the noise a specific species that is constantly looking for a good fight makes when they do practically anything they find cool but also whenever they shoot basically it gets them pumped up
Me at 7:29 be like: JUST USE WATERRRRRRRR-

Hate to say it, but you could have built the end portal frame successfully in the Nether!
Though i didn't know it worked like that in the stronghold!
ok so I'm generally not that much of a fan of fast paced content, and I mean, that's a preference, but I genuinely don't know why viewers would care that you're gonna make yourself by your brother subway for a year.
It's the youtuber equivalent of a kid saying "Hey do you dare me to eat that bug?" because they wanna eat a bug and have someone watch them do it.
well aren't you a ray of sunshine
@@poppythomas8498 the brightest light in a forest of dark baby
Unlimited Dimensions is such a cool concept that it's strange how it's just an April Fools update, I know it's really broken but I also feel like something like that has a lot of potential with procedural world generation.
the vibrancy on some of these versions is so cool, if there is one, what shaders were you using???
Great video! I liked the way you formatted it with Minecraft 2.0, Great stuff!
ah yes completely forget about water existing in "love and hugs update"
Minecraft 2.0 is like Minecraft on Dark Souls difficulty.
You have an axe
That was what I was thinking😭
You can see him hitting some mobs with his shovel, the hearts still appear. I’m assuming the heart thing applies for everything.
Man, what a fun video! And it was really fun seeing all the classic areas like the old villages, Nether, etc. I do like the changes they've made to make Minecraft more dynamic but I'll always have a sweet spot for the originals. :')
IF YOU USE THE COD HITMARKER ONE MORE TIME I SWEAR
Dude , this video feels like you get a sponsor moment every seconds when you play minecraft 2.0 😂

You could also... Eat the cheese... Which replenishes oxygen... eh nvm
wait it does??
@@Mariajuice_official "Cheese, which makes up almost the entirety of the Moon, restores both hunger and oxygen, allowing the player to survive here."

19:38 "MOREDAKKA" is a warhammer 40k reference to orks,in which it means "more firepower"
4:51 "aww :(" lol
This was such a cool video! I love how you had to really think outside the box on some of the updates!
This video is HELLA underrated
You can never have enough DAKKA!
You disliking an April fool’s update because it is just trying to mess with you is very confusing. Trying to mess with you is kind of the point of April fool’s.
My theory: each of the April Fools updates are just Steve having a lucid dream
the ad at 12:16 is everything lol
I've been trying to beat love and hugs for two years, suffocating spiders to craft fishing rods, collecting snowballa to kill enemies, and enchanting them in hopes of defeating the ender dragon and it took WAY too long.
3:56 use your axe😂
That’s exactly what I thought too…
But if you look at 10:04, even hitting entities with stuff besides the "heart sword" doesn’t work…
we all just got reccomended this 6 months later? nice
Да 🤎
In the love and hugs update why didnt he just use his fucking axe to kill the blaze
I don't understand why people trade with piling for ender pearls. Killing endermem is more efficient because they have a fat better chance of dropping ender pearls
