I saw her in concert in the late 70's with John Conlee. It was a fund raiser. There wasn't many people there. So they just pulled up the chairs and talked and sang and it was like sitting in your living room. She was so funny. I never forgot it. Great person.

Truly, a powerhouse of a vocalist. Her phrasing is wonderful and unique. I met her back in the 90s. Very sweet lady. She was well under five feet tall, but her energy, and genuine attitude, filled the room.

Ok, the film is blurry, but this is old school singing that you just can't get these days ~ Brenda was a true natural - this video proves that she still had what it took, right from childhood. My dear Nan was born in 1905 and she had had a hard life - in the workhouse aged 6 and never saw her mother and brother again (her father had died) - I remember buying her a tape of Brenda Lee when I was 15 when I had got my first Saturday job and she didn't know what to do with it! But she told me, she loved Brenda's music and she would never forget it - so keep the tape and enjoy her beautiful songs for myself. Love you Nan xxxx
