Thank you!! Do you keep them at your house or do you pay for livery and if you do how much does it cost, because I don’t have enough room at my house unless I destroy my mums car ha
magpiebald hahaha!!i keep them at my own house , we actually live on a farm so I am very lucky!! I also work at the weekends because my parents hate the fact I’m in love with them so much , they make me pay for everything!!! (Except shows) I am 13 and I really recommend posting to a Facebook group for yard jobs, you might not get a lot but it’s showing your parents your responsible! I’ve make £20 a week! ( and if you work on a yard you still get to be around horses) let me know if you have any other questions ahaha!!!xxx
horses cost and take up everything. idk what a personal life is anymore... no longer do i spend money on stupid stuff because my horse is dressed better then i am😂😂
Most important is to make sure they can actually afford a horse and a lot of kids don’t understand the concept of money and lease are hard to find a Lot of places don’t do them. I end up paying for my horse but it was worth its because you’re parents can’t say anything now or hold anything against you.
I’ve been riding for 5 years and obsessed with them forever. I may have found the perfect horse, though it’s still very new. I’m at the barn all day working at the horse camp. My trainer thinks I’m ready, and I’ve basically outgrown all of the school horses skill wise. So owning is the next step, and my parents still so no. I can pay for show fees, most tack, and lesson. I can even pay for the initial horse, but the board is what stops them. I know it’s because of money, but it’s still hard to see all my friends buying horses and advance through the show circuit when I’m stuck being their groom.
Eliza May I’m in the same situation as you! My mom has said yes but my dad refuses to because of the boarding price. It is tough watching your friends own and show but eventually you will get one! 🐴😀
I'm 16 years old and even though I'd really love to have a horse I wouldn't buy one right now even if I had the money (which is not the case XD)I feel like I simply don't know enough about horses to be able to own and properly take care of one (I've only been riding for around 2 and a half years). But this sport and people like you showed me what I really wanted to do as a job and has gave me interest in the future when before I was just scared because I had no idea what I wanted to do. So, I have to thank you for giving me some hope for my future and making me feel like I have something to live for here. Thank you
I worked at a barn a few days a week for fun. I would spend my whole day helping the stable hand, tacking up, grooming horses, cleaning school horses tack... I did that all for free and it was amazing lol
Girl, this is an awesome video. I worked my butt off to have horses. I have loved horses my whole life. Fortunately my mom loved horses too. She made it easier but I had to prove myself. I mucked a million stalls, I earned extra lessons through hard work at the barn. If it got me on the back off a horse, I did. I had no free time. I owned a horrible pony named Mr MacGregor when I was small. He dumped me over and over but I never gave up. I did several leases. I took lessons. I owned and then my mom died and I stepped back for a while. I got married and had kids and finished college and along the way I would go to a Ranch to do trail riding. You are right, it is great therapy. Then the Navy transferred my family out west and I only agreed to go if I could own horses. He agreed and I have had as many as 8 and now I am down to 3. My girls, even though I loved horses, I made them show responsibility and commitment. They learned everything the way I did. I sure do hope that this video helps another “horse crazy” girl’s dream come true. ❤️❤️❤️
Yes!! I love this video. Anyone wanting a horse should see this! I didn't get my first horse until I was 18, now 20. But I worked for my horse and still do, whether it's feeding to deduct board costs or other chores. I'd been riding my whole life and finally my dad bought the horse I was leasing and he is now happily mine now for 3yrs! He was a Christmas surprise❤
I have 5 horses and I am getting a baby pony and I am so excited! You inspired me to go to jumping and dressage because I was doing barrel racing and now I do all three! You inspired me Claire you are a gorgeous human keep up all the great work you do -Love Addison
Omg this worked! I have been leasing my 12 height pony for 3 years and for my birthday I really wanted to buy him and I used these tips and today for my b day my parents took me out to ride my leased pony like normal and when I got there there was a bow on him and he is completely mine now🙏
I was going to buy my first horse (I have been riding for 3 years) and she is GORGEOUS and only 1,500$ and so well trained. I am getting a deal because my trainer REALLY wants me to buy her. Me and Marron bonded instantly and I love her so so much. MY parents don't have alot of money but we just got enough to take care of her. We are able to borrow tack and stuff, but feed is so expensive. How should I get my parents to understand this horse holds my whole heart, I connect with her so so much and she connects with me.
This was helpful because now I am going to make a slideshow about all the reasons I want a horse and all the things you need and all the benefits of having a horse. If all goes well, maybe my parents will allow me to at least lease a horse. Thanks Claire!
the thing is, my parents think that i'm TOTALLY not responsible but i actually am. it looks like im not because me sister makes us take turns because WERE TOTALLY 6 years old!! so we argue about who's turn it is.. lol. Tbh i love taking care of horses and my mom knows that :D. I might help my moms friend with chores for her horses
I am so that wierd horse girl too. All my school things that i can choose the topic or the book for a novel study or somthing like that it always has something to do woth horses. I love these tips and i am so going to try these to hopefully get my own horse.
I have started schooling this past fall and have loved it! It is my goal to own a horse of my own by next year. I’m just going through training and evaluating how I could get a horse.
I’m really happy you made this video , I have been riding with my trainer and she said I can help her brake in a horse 🐴 and she also said I could lease him so I was over the moon it’s just proving to my parents x
I have been researching so many different ways of how to convince my parents to buy me a horse. One way I am doing is a paper of which I did for my dog that I now have. This horse is everything I love him so much and I truly believe he is my heart horse.
I know how to walk trot and canter but my canters not the best😬I’m only 12 and I’m saving for a horse and I have about 500 dollars which is obviously not enough I go to lessons once a week and know more about care than riding. So I was thinking about getting a miniature horse next year or maybe later as I wouldn’t be riding it so yeah I hope to get one soon
Sophie's Diys's i think you should try leasing a horse instead of getting a miniature one, as you could just as well take care of it and ride :) especially that if you get an experienced horse, it can teach you a lot :)
But if you get a mini u can prove your responsibility 😏 I think if you jump u should fully know how to do it before u buy/lease bc there won’t be a trainer always helping u
My parents won't let me anyways. Even though I ended 1st place in 6 cross country competitions, 2 races and 4 showjumping competitions. Any more tips you got under your sleeve?
So i started lessons about 4-5 months ago and i’ve always been into horses..just like my mom she grew up with horses when she lived in New York and then she moved and she just lost interest and had kids..anyways my sister used to do horse lessons and turns out it was just a phase so i have talked about it with my mom and she said that she really needs a barn😂 so we have joined so many groups on Facebook that have horses for sale and we look every day..then one day i saw this gelding and he was stunning and i thought that he was the one so i screen shotted a picture of him and sent it to my mom and she was amazed and then we asked for the price and t was reasonable but then we came across a rescue page and all the horses were way cheaper so we have been looking on that Facebook page for awhile but we realized that every horse on that page is a western horse so we went on a website today and found three horse we liked but here’s the thing..there’s a girl that my mom works with that train. and sells horses and she is training this one horse named Cooley and she is willing to sell her to us after she is done training her and i’m very excited about that but it might be another year or so but that is fine because i know that i have to be patient
I have only had a few lessons and my trainer has not let me tack up or get the horse from the stall but she has already told my mom about horses for sale lol
I’ve been riding for 8 years and Im still waiting for the right time to get a horse and I’m cool with it. Right now I’m 16 and I have a lot of other stuff I need first but me and my dad are set on getting horses eventually just waiting for the right time. Everything you said in this video was perfect and I agree completely! I’m always learning from my trainer!
This video was very helpful because I have been trying to convince my parents to get me a horse that I fell in love with while I was volunteering at a horse rescue. They said I could have her if we had a place to put her and they don't think we have enough money to board it and afford a vet bill if it got seriously injured. this sucks!
I’ve been riding a while and had a break and got back into it early last year. I quickly learned everything again and got a lot better. In winter I started loaning a horse but they didn’t work I got stepped on a LOT and got bucked off in the first month so I was made to stop my loan (the pony was basically unbroken) but that didn’t stop me going to the yard, doing chores and doing everything on the yard; feeding all the horses, mucking out all the stables, taking the horses into and out of fields, and if I got time groom them. I’m going to ask my mum for a pony, I’ve seen a perfect one but I’m going to save up for one, I only have £200 at the moment but I can sell things I don’t use, do jobs around the house and just anything. If my mum is willing to pay for a full loan (paying for the horses upkeep and everything) I don’t know why she wouldn’t let me pay for the horse and for her all it would be like is a full loan which I did anyway
My bill for shots and coggins for show season was 218.00+ 100.00 for a trim on his hooves then 50.00 for trailering to my upcoming show in June plus another 80.00 for classes plus 475.00 for board
When you try to convince your mom to get a horse and my moms a veterinarian and every time I bring it up she brings up a horse can colic and other problems 😂😂
I’ve been riding for two years now and I’m actually obsessed with this one horse at my barn but the only issue is, that my sister rides too and we both need to start leasing first. My parents are just worried about the cost im very nervous because we have a meeting tonight! It all determines after tonight!
Me and my Mum were talking about moving since we are going to move somewhere in the country with her boyfriend and my mum said we can get a horse down the track :D
I know a lot about horses but my dad still says “ your brother ruined it for you “ and I’m like “ just cause he ruined it for me dosent mean I’m not responsible enough “
I was bullied for liking horses so I pretended to not like them anymore, now I really really like them again but no one knows because I'm scared ill get teased but I really want one, especially a foal or just a young horse I can spend time with and have fun then bring my riding back in shape and see if I can break it myself.. but I don't know if that's a good idea especially because by the time it'll finally be broke it won't be long till I go to college and my parents would definetly not want a horse to take care of when I'm not there
THE THING IS my parents say I dont have enough money for a horse, I tell them I will work for my money, and do the work myself. Then they say that I CANT have a job and get money, and I say I will help, they still say no. And I say for them to do anything, and then they say I have to get a job and work for it! I ask for lessons, still NO! Like- WTF?!
I’ve been begging for a horse of my own for 11 years I’m giving up on hope. I was so close to getting a horse one time, however we lost A lot of money due to reasons I can’t say... my mum hasn’t got the money and it’s impossible for us to even get a loan or a share and I’m distraught.. I don’t know what to do. The horse I need would cost up to around £6,000 for me 😫
Sadly a lot of parents simply can’t afford even a lease for their kid no matter how much they’d love to fulfill that dream. I was one of those kids. I’m an adult now and I fully plan on fulfilling that dream when I can afford it. I have faith that you will too. Don’t lose hope! (I still put a pony on every birthday, Christmas, and grocery list though. Hey you never know! 😄)
I’m about to volunteer at the barn I take lessons at and that is also where the horse that I want is thanks for the tips I’m hoping that I can convince them
My mom and dad already promised me a horse and my dad and I are going to start fencing soon and he's looking for the type of horse I want so let's hope 🤞🏻I want a girl haflinger and riding english but I don't know if I can do english so I might have to train my horse Edit: I also took riding lessons from the time I was 5 to 8 and I love horses and riding them
It takes time. Work hard for it. If you don't have the money, get a job at a stable or even iHop. If you're too young for that, really have a sit down with them and talk with them. Things you need to do, things that are physically impossible for you to do... Stuff like that. Basically everything she said in the video lol. Good luck!
i have been asking my parent for a horse for a 2 years now :( and been helping my neighbours horse poo picking and feeding EVERYDAY! FOR 1 YEAR FOR FREE but my parents are STILL not letting me get a horse and its not like they cant afford it as our house is 2M AND WITH FIELDS that would be for the horse but i am still not allowed a horse for NO REASON AT ALL! HELP ME ANY IDEAS ON WHAT TO DO!?
I’ve been trying and the reason my parents said no is because my gram has a horse and we live next to her and walk to her house, she had horse her whole life she had 12 when my mom was a kid, the reason is cause the horse she has is old and not able to be ridden she kicked another horse back in the day but I’m trying to convince them what should I say....? Plus I thought of splitting the pasture in half for them both and have the barn in the middle but, what should I say?
right now i'm looking to just full lease a pony. i have tried everything, writing letters to my mom, begging her! What can I do to finally convince my parents to let me full lease a pony? Please help me Clair!
If I’m wanting a horse where should I look and how should I tell my parents if I’m interested in buying one? And I’m in grade 12 last year and I won’t be going to college or uni so I’ll have plenty of time to spend time with ridding I’ve had 7 years of ridding and I love it! Can you help? And lol my name is Claire too haha
I rlly want to quite cheer but my mom doesn’t want me too cause we spent like $500 on uniforms and stuff and I just want to lease a horse and I’m just not sure how to approach the topic
I’m currently leasing a horse until January and I love him so so much but I feel like he’s not The Horse for me if you know what I mean... and I would like to have my own horse one day. Leasing as proved that my parents can afford like the monthly fees and all but they still won’t consider buying one... what do I do to convince them??♥️
I’ve ridden horses since i was 3 years old and had lessons for 2 years. My mom used to be an experienced showjumping rider and grew up with 24 horses. She knows the price of horses and the price of what they need. But she says we don’t have the money for a horse and then she goes and spends 6000$ on clothes a year even tho we don’t need it. I know what im doing around horses and i am experienced so i don’t understand what the problem is. If mom stops buying things we don’t need i could guarantee that we’ll have enough money to buy a horse and everything it needs. and we have a place to have the horse so there isn’t any issues. Nothing makes sence
Thank you so much Claire! My mum says that no barn will let me volunteer, because of the risk and stuff like that and I’m really not sure if they will let me have lessons for work, so do you think that could be an option?? This is really helpful though and next year I’m going to try ask my parents to let me quit all the other stuff because horseriding is so much more expensive than everything else!! Love your videos!! ♥️♥️
Wish me luck! x I'm going to try and convince my parents to let me save up for the expenses of a horse, and then next year looking at getting one! My parents love horses and I volunteer as a stablehand on sundays so I hope it goes well
I have leased a horse for a little over a year. And I really want my own horse and my parents won’t let me until i can help pay for it. I found a job but haven’t talked to the place about it yet, but I already found one and I really want it. We do chores every Sunday night and that will be the time that I will get to have with him if I get him. I also go to the barn every Tuesday. I am hoping that I can get a job and get this horse that I really want. I ha r been riding horses for 4 years
when i started riding lessons my dad said he was never ever getting a horse so i should not even talk to him about it but i did and eventually i convinced him to let me lease then hopefully we will buy me one
I really want a horse but my parents don’t like them my aunt was nearly killed by one but she understands that it wasn’t the horses fault and sometimes brings me horse riding my dad keeps saying I will never get a horse and my mom doesn’t like them so I have no chance but it’s my dream and whenever I can I talk about horses to show them how much I want one
Hey Claire! Can you do a video on how to convince your parents to let you jump? Basiclly I take lessons and my dad just won't let me learn how to jump what so ever. When I ask him why he tells me "because I said so".Please help and I would appreciate help from other people,I'm desperate. Please Claire help me
I really don’t like these videos because a lot of kids don’t understand that if they do all these things they still won’t be guaranteed a horse. So many people truly just cannot afford a horse, or board, and vetting and everything else that comes with it. Most can’t even afford a lease.
Agreed, parents don't enjoy disappointing their kids by telling them no, but most people just cannot afford the purchase and upkeep of a horse no matter how responsible the kid is or how many Powerpoints they make explaining why they should have a horse.
Horses are very expensive. Very very expensive. Like Topaaz said most families can’t even afford a lease, where really for many families it might be difficult just to pay rent and have food on the table at the same time.
@@lgilbert40 Was that sarcastic because that is... No. Ponies usually aren't trained and are VERY difficult for beginners to ride. Also delivered? A horse? You have got to be joking.
I am hopefully 🤞going to be getting a Ottb that my trainer is training he is a dappled grey and his name is breach I am getting him in six months I’m soooooo excited
Yesterday I had my first jumping show this year! And I got a 1st place!!!
Congrats
Alannah Zen Thanks!
Well donee!!!

Robert Equestrian Wow! Congrats that's amazing!!!
I have three horses right now and I love them all so much! Good luck to anybody looking for a horse!!❤️

Jo Jo Cocking I would just like 3 five seems like allot but yeah just my opinion
How can u even look after 5 horses??!! 😂

I already have a horse so I don’t need to watch this, but I’m watching it anyway because I love Claire’s talking videos 🤷♀️😂

U have to add Owen to your Intro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a deal with my mom. She pays the extra vet bills (about $5,000) and pay for the horse and tack ($3,000)
I’m 13 and I can’t remember a time I didn’t want a horse but I’ve always lived In town,We finally moved to the country and now I’m researching
Thanks I need this 😍 I love Horseriding it’s my life I train in Ireland grogan
I quit being a level 7/8 gymnast that I trained for a long time, to do stuff with horses and going to own a horse soon!
Me and my Mum were talking about moving since we are going to move somewhere in the country with her boyfriend and my mum said we can get a horse down the track :D
I love you Claire. Your the best TH-camr in the world 🌍 💖
"But that's fine" *throws the ball dog runs off* 😄
He was sold. I checked equine now and it said sold from Illinois! :(
I know a lot about horses but my dad still says “ your brother ruined it for you “ and I’m like “ just cause he ruined it for me dosent mean I’m not responsible enough “
I was bullied for liking horses so I pretended to not like them anymore, now I really really like them again but no one knows because I'm scared ill get teased but I really want one, especially a foal or just a young horse I can spend time with and have fun then bring my riding back in shape and see if I can break it myself.. but I don't know if that's a good idea especially because by the time it'll finally be broke it won't be long till I go to college and my parents would definetly not want a horse to take care of when I'm not there
I'm not sure if you're in college right now or not, but if you are, how do you manage college and owning a horse?
Tanks because of this vid my parents are getting me a horse a shire horse im so excited i love shire horses im 11
Like-
WTF?!
Lexie Madz good luck! And thank you ☺️
I’m about to volunteer at the barn I take lessons at and that is also where the horse that I want is thanks for the tips I’m hoping that I can convince them
It's hard bc I live on a wild farm and I can't do work for money do you have tips for me
My mom and dad already promised me a horse and my dad and I are going to start fencing soon and he's looking for the type of horse I want so let's hope 🤞🏻I want a girl haflinger and riding english but I don't know if I can do english so I might have to train my horse
Edit: I also took riding lessons from the time I was 5 to 8 and I love horses and riding them
I want a horse I’m crying because I want one so much
It takes time. Work hard for it. If you don't have the money, get a job at a stable or even iHop. If you're too young for that, really have a sit down with them and talk with them. Things you need to do, things that are physically impossible for you to do... Stuff like that. Basically everything she said in the video lol. Good luck!
I am going to use these to convince my parents!
Same
Did it work?
clydesdale lover No sadly i don’t but i am planing on asking next year since i feel like i am not ready yet...
clydesdale lover Do you?🤗
clydesdale lover good luck✨ And Happy Birthday⚡️💛
I'm ten and I cant get a job what would you recommend and there is no barns that i could work at so what could I do???
I LOVED this video so much it was very helpful and I can tell you really love what you do and that is really important.
Any tips on finding a barn? I have been all around my area and cant find anything that fits
i have been asking my parent for a horse for a 2 years now :( and been helping my neighbours horse poo picking and feeding EVERYDAY!
Claire you are awesome! Love your videos!!
Love the beginning of the video!!
Thank youu girl! I loved the video, it was so helpful! love youu so much xoxo
I’ve been riding since I was 11 and have been working at a barn every week for 5 years and proved everything but I’m still waiting ha .
I have a serious question if I am 160lbs what horse should I get?????
I rlly want to quite cheer but my mom doesn’t want me too cause we spent like $500 on uniforms and stuff and I just want to lease a horse and I’m just not sure how to approach the topic
When are you going to post again
will this still work if i want a companion horse, not a riding horse or anything
I had thought about quitting all my sports and then I watched this video and now I'm quitting all my sports to try and get a horse
IM SO HAPPY YOU POSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yasssssssssss
My grandad was a farrier and my dad grew up with horses but he won’t let me get one and I’m starting lessons xx
My parents love horses and I volunteer as a stablehand on sundays so I hope it goes well
I can do modeling last time I did I got about 85 dollars but I can’t go to it anymore because when your a second late they have a new model
well trying to find a position as working student is also a great option!
Love you and your horses🐴
i met owen :) cause they went to my stable before i switched
I’ve had horses before and one got a disease called cushions so she died and now my mum says horses are too much money, anyone got advice x
can you do a video of what horse breed to get 🐴
I have leased a horse for a little over a year.
Cassidy Smith How is it going i wish you so much luck🤞🏼

I really want a horse but my parents don’t like them my aunt was nearly killed by one but she understands that it wasn’t the horses fault and sometimes brings me horse riding my dad keeps saying I will never get a horse and my mom doesn’t like them so I have no chance but it’s my dream and whenever I can I talk about horses to show them how much I want one
Thank you, thank you! This really helps
I already have a horse but I NEED another one 😭😭😂
Your make up is really nice x
Is it better to have 1 or more?
Good tips! I'm just curious, did you do a PPE on either River or Owen?
thoroughbredhunter610 yes I did on both
Hey Claire! Can you do a video on how to convince your parents to let you jump? Basiclly I take lessons and my dad just won't let me learn how to jump what so ever. When I ask him why he tells me "because I said so".Please help and I would appreciate help from other people,I'm desperate. Please Claire help me
Claireee you are perfect!!!!!! ❤️❤️😍😍 but seriously Owen needs to be included in your intro!!!!
everytime i ask my mom she keeps saying no but i know were to put it and she still wont let me get one.
Why can’t kids go on the existing thing called craigslist and look for a cheap pony or lease one or get it delivered and seeing it themselves 🙄
@@lgilbert40 Was that sarcastic because that is... No. Ponies usually aren't trained and are VERY difficult for beginners to ride. Also delivered? A horse? You have got to be joking.
The intro got me tho 😝
AHHHH MADDY IS SO CUTE 🙈🙈❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am hopefully 🤞going to be getting a Ottb that my trainer is training he is a dappled grey and his name is breach I am getting him in six months I’m soooooo excited
Thx I'll try it's very hard bc my parents always say no and I'm also 12
Loved listening to this video 💕❤️💜💙
