The outside of most needle- nose pliers might work for stretching that seal without hurting it.

If you don't have any bubbles in your fluid that means no leaks right?

Means pump is not leaking internally.

Aerated fluid makes a lot of noise in hydraulic pumps. When it all dissipates out it gets quiet.
