He &SD are Largely unknown and under appreciated by my generation. But IMO they play straight ahead hard rock, and the punk is not overstated,they should be played on indie radio so old people can hear them while they drive

I got to meet these dudes back in '81 shared studio with them. I was a drummer in a band called ANTI. In Hollywood on Sunset bl or nearby. Just remember we partied hard and slam danced on our breaks. Lots of Budweiser and Coors Light and spliff. I have never forgotten that fun time. Got elbow I think on back of me 'ed from slammin with Mike and our lead singer Dexter Chaos brutal but so freaking cool. It was a gas man really a gas! I still treasure the memory.

Social Distortion is one of the best punk bands in the USA. What I like about this band is that they don't talk too much and Mike Ness is calm and he is very different compared to other punk band vocalists who like to use imagery to increase the prestige of their band.

As I grew older I always loved Rockabilly but I always loved having the punk rock mentallity and growing up not giving and shit living my life how I feel like I should live, just like Cash and Presley did there own thing, but I think our generation Mike Ness really embodies every kid that wanted to do there own thing and not give a shit how they were looked at but lived there own way.
Another great & fantastically original band from the early 90s that helped pull much of the musical firmament of that groundbreaking epoch deep into the late 90s such was the amazingly cutting edge transcendence of Social Distortion, with this superlative masterpiece being finely emblematic of that early 90s pioneering hybridization of Hard Rock, Alt Rock & Punk, 3 different styles that Social D could weave together seamlessly & skillfully, seminal as that super band was. I love them. They burst the dam. When I was a young kid about ‘89 the Johnny Cash stuff was Granddad’s music. The old stuff was Old. Social Distortion shattered all that and really opened our musical horizons😊
I wasn't a punk, I was a metalhead but Social D always got the nod of approval especially this song. Even at the tender age of 16 this song resonated with me, the sentiment was like an old comfortable jacket that I'd had for years. Still does. Well done Mike.

I first started listening to Social Distortion somewhere between 89-92 when I was stationed in Germany. Now 32+ years I finally got to see them in concert Bad Religion and Love Crimes opening in Des Moines, Iowa! GREAT PERFORMANCE!!! THANK YOU🤘🤘🤘

Mike Ness makes me feel things that I can't even put into words.
As I grew older I always loved Rockabilly but I always loved having the punk rock mentallity and growing up not giving and shit living my life how I feel like I should live, just like Cash and Presley did there own thing, but I think our generation Mike Ness really embodies every kid that wanted to do there own thing and not give a shit how they were looked at but lived there own way.

Timeless!

I love them. They burst the dam. When I was a young kid about ‘89 the Johnny Cash stuff was Granddad’s music. The old stuff was Old. Social Distortion shattered all that and really opened our musical horizons😊

I wasn't a punk, I was a metalhead but Social D always got the nod of approval especially this song. Even at the tender age of 16 this song resonated with me, the sentiment was like an old comfortable jacket that I'd had for years. Still does. Well done Mike.

Pragmatic, Down to Earth, tried and proven, Mike Ness is beyond great, he's legendary!! I love this band so muuuuuuuch!!! I listen to down here with the rest of us, and the lyrics make me teary eyed, I just relate to these lyrics so much, my life has sucked so bad before, and Social D understood perfectly. My favorite band of all time hands down.
