    So glad that you are doing this review. It's important you cover regular phones too, your opinion is important even though you might feel that you only want to do foldables.

    • @TheMrMobile
      @TheMrMobile  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +148

      I definitely only want to do foldables, haha - but I skipped last year's OnePlus and changes over two generations (instead of just one) make it easier to stay interested. Thanks for the feedback!

    • @PhantasmXYZ
      @PhantasmXYZ 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +20

      Even if they're "boring," I usually do prefer slabs over foldables (though I'd also welcome another cheeky curved phone like the LG Flex 2; that felt PERFECT in the pocket and hand.) Yet I trust this channel's expertise over any other tech reviewer, so it is definitely appreciated whatever MrMobile opines upon.

    • @strayiggytv
      @strayiggytv 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +11

      @@PhantasmXYZ Same. Also foldables are still more delicate and don't have that many use cases if you aren't a world galavanting TH-camr.

    • @chubbyjohnson5480

      I believe foldables are doomed to the same future as curved displays. They'll be seen as yet another gimmick.

    • @jcfawerd
      @jcfawerd 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      @@chubbyjohnson5480 Foldables can be a thing if the price going down, unfortunately it's not a thing. And another component (display) which is doomed to fail after a period of use doesn't help to justify the price hike.

    "You look out to sea in any direction & you see nothing and that prompts you to look inward to make sure you see more than nothing"!! Well that's one of the reason I love Mr Mobile videos as he keeps dropping gems like these & sometimes some wordplays!! Also they are very comprehensive & extremely well narrated as well (I don't think lot of tech-tubers have noticed the special feature he mentioned towards the end)!!

  • @CrazedCreative

    For what it's worth to you! You are SINGLE HANDEDLY the reason I got into reviewing shit. It started as comic books, then it went stagnant. However, I've never stopped, and you are one of the best to have ever done it. Appreciate you. Always happy to watch a video from you! Blessings!

  • @simply90

    Superb script as usual. It really goes to show how much thought was put into crafting the entire message you're trying to get across in the review, not just vomitting out numbers and soundbites to draw in viewers. This is certainly the USP of your videos! And what a joy to listen to you enunciate every word with your radio voice. Can't wait for the next video coming from you.

      Imho it has something to do with the fact at some point people stopped to care about new phones as they got boring. Michael's channel is my favourite when it comes to phone channels but I don't really watch it anymore, as all phones are the same and nothing really has changed since 2019 except minor year to year upgrades and it's been already half of a decade since then.

    One of the silliest things all reviewers fall short on is that cases are the absolute norm. I cannot remember the last time I saw someone using a phone without a case. So this begs the question why put the magnets in the phone. I don't see naked iPhones either.. and they are in the phone.

    • @Techno4more
      @Techno4more 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +29

      That's actually a very good point. It doesn't really make much sense to have the magnets on the phone itself I mean you're also putting another layer if you have a case on it which most people do have a case

    • @dumbpup
      @dumbpup 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +28

      I do see people not using a case occasionally, and with a design as beautiful as this I would be tempted to go caseless as well.

    • @Samsonfs

    In short: I have OP 12 16/512 and OP 13 hasn't gone far, meaning not a leap, in order to consider the upgrade. OP 12 is simply great, OP 13 is good upgrade if you have money and OP 11 or lower, else 12 is better option all-in-all. Will wait for OP "next" to make an upgrade and hope it will have Elite 2 along with substantial camera modules upgrades. Yes, please make it lighter along with smaller camera bumps. Just my thoughts.

    A way to contact my family members and make necessary calls without needing access to cellular data?
    Sounds amazing!
    …A shame the actual feature is undercooked at launch. ^^’
    Alas, this is one feature I hope OnePlus refines in later updates. And more importantly, I hope other manufacturers (or app developers) take notes and make similar features available for other non-OnePlus users.

    I think 1+ has moved so far away from its starting point that the original fan base is almost completely gone. I have a 12 now in for RMA as the battery life was not anywhere close to what it should've been.
    And having used said phone since April of last year, one thing these reviewers don't tell you about is how updates more often than not end up causing more issues than improvements.
    And if you live in a country where you have to deal with 1+ directly for customer service, you may find that it's not a good experience.

    Hey how are you Just finished watching your comprehensive review of the OnePlus 13, and I'm seriously blown away by both the device and your meticulous breakdown. 🌟
    The inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite processor is a real game-changer-it’s like having a mini supercomputer in your pocket! The integration with Hasselblad for the camera system takes mobile photography to another dimension. Your sample shots truly showcased the camera’s ability to capture vibrant, detailed images even in challenging lighting conditions.
    The 100W charging speed is another highlight-being able to juice up the battery in such a short time is incredibly convenient for users with hectic schedules. Your step-by-step guide on how the charging technology works was enlightening and will help many understand the benefits.
    I also appreciated your attention to the enhanced display technology. The higher refresh rate and improved brightness levels you demonstrated will undoubtedly make a difference for gaming and media consumption. And let’s not forget the battery life-longer lasting power without compromising on performance is always a winning feature.
    Your balanced review, highlighting both the pros and potential cons, sets you apart from many other tech reviewers. It’s this honesty and depth of knowledge that keeps me coming back to your channel for reliable insights.

    I can't believe Palm came up with magnetic wireless charging too. That phone was definitely from the future, it was so far ahead of its time.

    I wouldn't mind a genuinely waterproof phone.
    A couple weeks ago I accidentally submerged my Pixel 6 Pro (IP68) in 2 feet of water in a pool for a couple minutes, noticed, removed it from the water and toweled it off, tested it and it seemed to still work fine, and figured the waterproofing did its job and didn't think anything of it.
    But then over the next day it progressively got worse, first the fingerprint sensor disappeared from Android (with enough time in between the incidents that I didn't connect it with getting wet), then the phone started to boot loop, then finally the screen died with a strange green wash, though it still responded to touch inputs even if I couldn't see anything.
    Looks like water got in through the SIM cart slot, even though I've only ever swapped SIM cards once with it.
    Was able to get the screen replaced a week later and the fingerprint scanner still doesn't work (I figure it might require a factory reset) the rest of the phone seems functional. Still, an expensive mistake.

    After switching to a Pixel Fold 1 a week or so ago, I just cannot go back any more. I just think it's the best of both worlds as I can have a phone that's small enough for one handed use, but then fold it out to a big screen and the aspect ratio being square makes it a lot better for actual productivity use. Makes me want a Surface Duo 3 now, Microsoft should bring back Windows Phone and make one as it would be perfect for the ARM tablet version of Windows.

    I generally enjoy OnePlus devices (splurged for the McLaren Edition 7 Pro 5G on T-Mobile years ago), but it says quite a bit that the company still can't figure out proper magnetic charging with already existing standards and tech available. It's nice to see that the Hasselblad collab is finally paying off, but I don't see myself picking this one up if the one compelling feature is an undercooked peer-to-peer communication service, even though I would love such a capability on my phone without needing to download a third-party app. As always Michael, your reviews and context are greatly appreciated, and I hope we can cross paths soon.

    A good filter makes a photo more memorable for me; it makes it stand out in my gallery. Phone cameras are at the point where I don't really want to spend hours pixel peeping and compare different phones, I just want something that will bring memories of that moment. I am glad more and more phones come with 'interesting' filters. Kudos to OnePlus

    Can attest to the battery - like Boris the Blade, it's apparently impossible to kill it. I've gone out of my way to drain the OP13 and I still end up with a third of the battery left.
