Hey everyone! When I wrote the review, the TV was on sale for $700. It is, as I write THIS, $800. Adjust the calculus accordingly. Aside from that, what are your thoughts?
Just to let everyone know, the 75” U8K version of the Hisense TVs uses the ADS Pro panels that are not like the older generation IPS panels. ADS or Advanced Plane-to-Line Switching: The infrastructure of the ADS panel is the same as PLS or Plane-to-Line Switching. In this, the liquid crystals lie along the same plane always, like IPS displays. ADS is different from IPS because it uses a longitudinal electric field and a transverse electric field for parallel liquid crystal movement.
Echoing my comment below, I paid $999 for the 75" and as a "casual enthusiast" who watches mostly HDR/Dolby Vision content and games I have very little issues with the set. Your complaints are accurate but true AV enthusiasts are already likely locked on to an OLED or a miniLED.
This reminds me of the time a friend came over and just stood there staring at my tv while rattling off all the specs of the tv he had. I said “yeah I went in Best Buy and picked the one that looked the best.” He looked at me like I was crazy.
Just got my Q7 65" at my local Best Buy "open box", but mint for $449.99. Love it. For that price it was a no brainer for a huge upgrade over my 10 year old LG LCD. My PS5 at 120hz looks incredible.
Well as a 70 year old who will be upgrading from an almost 10 year old Vizio 1080p TV, this sounds like what I need. I mean, my eyes aren't what they were and the upgrade will be so significant that by comparison this will seem great. Thanks for the review.
This will blow that old Vizio 1080p TV away. You'll see colors and contrast you never saw on a tv before. Get it while you can still enjoy it! I'm 71 myself and appreciate your situation. My previous HD TV was a Vizio 1080p also. I've got a 2019 TCL 55 inch 4K 6 series still going strong. Hope to move up to a QM8 next year if my vision holds out.

I was waiting for your review before I bought it. I went ahead and bought it. I love it so far. Nothing to complain about. I just bought it cause it's 4k 120 HDMI 2.1 price was good I got the 55 inch for 600 after tax For my room. The negatives you mention don't bother me cause I upgraded from a 4 or 5 year old regular tv. So it looks perfect to me .
Excellent! I was keeping folks like you in mind when I did this review - I don’t want to scare everyone off from a potentially great TV match, but I have to call out stuff when I see it as well. It’s a thin tightrope to walk! I’m glad you’re enjoying the new TV!
How is the upscaling of lower quality content? Is it really that bad or is it tolerable? I want to use the set as a monitor and use my Nvidia GPU with VSR to pre-upscale TH-cam content then let the TV upscale the rest of the way.
For the price and the overall incredible value this TV provides, I can live with the flaws. I would say I'm somewhere in between the average consumer and a tech nerd. I'm willing to compromise if I can get most of the features I need from the QM8 series baked into the Q7. For under $1000 for the 75 inch Q7 you're getting more features and performance than the comparable older 6 series 75 inch that used to be between $1300 - $1500. Those flaws that you are pointing out is TCL trying to really aggressively lower the cost of the product so they can have something to attack the market with. I can live with the flaws. So I'm going to target the Q7 for a November Black Friday purchase.
@@jeseramirez9852 Get the Q7 because it's 2024 now and the new...NEW products are already rushing to market. The Q7 will become even more discounted. In fact, don't wait. Just get it. Me however, I've decided to take a different path....dun dun dahhhh!
I’ve been watching your reviews for a long time. Based on this review and the sub $1000 sale price, I just ordered the 75” model for my new home. Thanks!
"If you don't know your nits from your arm pits..." delivered with such a straight face...go sit in the corner, Caleb and think about what you just did. You made me laugh out loud. How dare you!!!🤣
I originally purchased the Samsung Q60 since it was on sale for Black Friday. My Hisense QLED from a few years ago developed some sick screen burn. My hope was to get an upgrade or at least equal value to that TV. After a week with the Samsung and doing more research, including reviews like this one, I returned it for the TCL. I was worried since I figured Samsung is the best, and perhaps they are in some areas. I am so glad I got this TV so far. After some calibration, the picture is amazing! For the value, it’s an excellent choice and I would recommend it for sure. I certainly like the picture more than the Samsung. Features are easy to use and the remote has a backlight which is pretty dope. Don’t sleep on this one!
Thanks for the really honest review, Caleb. I bought a 55" Q7 a couple of months ago (replacing a 7-year-old TCL P605) and I'm happy with it overall for the price I paid. Despite working in post-production, I'm thankfully not a nit nerd in my spare time, but I still appreciate a decent picture and I do think the Q7 is good value for a mid-range budget TV. Contrast, as you said, is very impressive for a FALD set, and its gaming features are a nice bonus. However, If I had space for a 65" in my living room, I probably would have gone for a QM8. To be honest though, most of the issues I have with the Q7 center around the vagueness of some of the menu settings for picture control in terms of what they do - which I'm guessing is going to be mirrored on the QM8 as they share the same image processor, as well as Google TV OS. I'm also disappointed in Dolby Vision IQ mode forcing motion smoothing to be on, a shame as it actually does a pretty good job of enhancing darker areas of picture in some House Of The Dragon-type scenarios.
Thanks for the awesome feedback. I am also frustrated by motion smoothing being on by default in IQ. You can turn it off I believe. But I’m starting to hear that some Q7’s out there aren’t holding on to user settings, which is worriesome. Give it a try, though. It might stick!
@@Caleb_Denison Cheers for the reply, Caleb! Sadly, as far as I know you can only turn off the motion smoothing in the Dolby Bright/Dark modes, not IQ. The option just isn't there when you bring up the picture settings under IQ. Whether that's by TCL's design or Dolby's insistence, I have no idea. It could even be a combination of the two - I'm not sure what other manufacturers are offering a Dolby IQ mode? Dolby sees it as an "auto" mode , which could be why they think the average consumer would prefer (or not care about) motion smoothing being on. Any idea if the QM8 is the same way?
I have the Q7 in 65 and this TV its a beast , i love it , movie on netflix and disney are perfect , in dolby vision wow its the best budget TV for 2023 ❤
I purchased a 55” TCL Q7 a few days ago and so far so good. Picture quality is decent although color accuracy out of the box is mediocre like Caleb mentions in his review. I have calibration settings below per another reviewer on TH-cam. As of now the picture looks better after these picture settings are implemented. I do have a few other gripes so far like watching 4K UHD movies on my Sony UHD player not looking great when using Dolby Vision. I use HDR 10 instead and prefer it right now when watching my UHD discs. Also my soundbar doesn’t turn off when powering off the TV and sometimes doesn’t turn on when powering up the TV. Also not a fan of the motion on this TV for movies but I’ve noticed that most newer TVs have the same issue with motion handling by stuttering on pan camera shots. I just messed with the motion settings and changed it to Blur Reduction: 1 and Judder Reduction: 3. I might lower the Judder to 2 bc I hate the Soap Opera effect and sometimes the 3 Judder setting might be too smooth for motion handling. Some things that I really like about this TV is its remote. Buttons light up when you pick up the remote so no more fumbling with the remote in the dark. Little things like this go a long way. Also another plus is that the HDMI (E)ARC input is a HDMI 2.0 input so you truly get 2 HDMI 2.1 inputs (Inputs 1 & 2) for 120hz gaming. Unlike my Sony OLED that annoyingly takes up the HDMI 2.1 input as also being an (E)ARC input. Another great perk is having actual storage capacity like 24GB compared to some of these TVs only giving you like 5GB (which is ridiculous). And last thing is it’s a Google operating TV which I love. I highly recommend TVs that utilize Google because you get more app control settings like Force Stop for example. Plus its user interface is clean and simple or at least it is in my opinion.. Overall I’m happy with this TV especially for the sale price of $448 (as of today at Best Buy). Below are the calibration settings I mentioned earlier. Calibration settings are not universal and don’t work the same for each TV (so every user will probably have to make some more fine tunings to get their preferred picture) but I’m more happy with the color accuracy now. Also I’m not experiencing the picture settings issue with them resetting like some users have stated but it’s only been about 5 days so we’ll see.. Calibration settings for “Movie” 2 points: R Gain -2 G gain 0 B gain -16 R off set -2 G off set -2 B off set -3 20 points: Interval 4 Red -3 Green 1 Blue -4
Now that you mention it, that sounds familiar. I’ll look into it on the QM8, which is coming back to the test bench for a vs. against the X95L. Might have to go on a rant about that.
Always love your reviews! I got the Q7 right after it became available. Like you said, Im not a video enthusiast, and for me the tv is performing great! And i think most average consumers would agree.
Picked up the 75" for $1000. I have been very happy with it. Best TV for the price IMO. If you are looking for a 75" for $1000 or less, I don't think there is a better choice out there. The only possible rival I see would be the U7k.
While you await the full review on 65u7k, let me summarize the features: The Hisense 65U7K is a great all-around TV that offers excellent picture quality, a wide range of features, and a competitive price. It has a 4K UHD resolution, a Quantum Dot LED display, and Dolby Vision HDR support. It also has a built-in Google TV operating system, which gives you access to a wide range of apps and streaming services.
I bought this TV a couple months ago on sale for like 650 after tax. Out-of-the-box is terrible. I can't even hire a calibrator here. So, coming from an LG C9, I'm pretty disappointed. The Rtings settings for the white points seem to help a lot. Most users would rather have vibrant colors so they won't care, but this TV is capable and after calibration, it could be fantastic. Honestly, not super disappointed because price was good in comparison, but without substantial calibration equipment and several hours of work, it does a decent job. Someone really needs to put pressure on companies to have a standard calibration at the factory. They leave so much on the table by not doing it. The technology in this price range is at the point where anyone could have a great TV and experience amazing performance, but the average consumer won't calibrate this TV and that's where this TV fails for me. I'll still keep it because I needed a cheap large TV, but disappointed in how much potential it has that I, personally, am unable to unlock. Great review and thanks for your honesty. Maybe TCL will adopt new factory calibrations in the future.
I got this tv as a replacement for my x800d. Definitely good for the value. It took a lot of tweaking to get look right but then again I got for $500. You can’t beat that price compared to the $1000 I spent on the x800d and the image I’m getting out of the newer tech.
Went from a 7 series Samsung 82 inch tv that lasted just over 2 years and now a anchor for a boat after LCD went .. to this 85 inch 2023 model TCL tv QLED and no comparison.. TCL this far blows Samsung out of the water for clear audible sound .. amazing without the need of a soundbar . Picture has bright colours . Very impressed after 24 hrs lol I’ll write another review after months .. I did learn my lesson and bought a 4 year waranty to at least get my money back if unrepairable but by then I’ll trade up to a 98 inch to 100 inch for same price lol
Great to hear you are enjoying your new 85-inch 2023 model TCL tv QLED! It sounds like a fantastic upgrade from your previous TV. The picture quality and sound are truly impressive, and it's great that you don't need a soundbar to enjoy great audio.
How does the 65" Q7 compare to my 13 yr old Sony XBR-46HX909. I want to upgrade to a 65" and I am considering either the 65" Q6 ($699 CAD) or Q7 ($1000 CAD). The QM8 ($1600 CAD) is a bit out of my budget.
Caleb, I have a question. I just purchased my 75-in Q7 TCL and when I watch things in Dolby Vision or HDR they looked washed out. Keep in mind I am streaming this content. However, when I disable HDR and Dolby Vision on my Roku 4K and just watch it in 4K, the TV looks excellent. It's bright. It's vibrant. It has deep. Blacks is very beautiful TV. However, when I enable HDR and w vision it puts a gray haze over the screen like the blacks are very lifted. Can you help me with this?
HDR color space need HDR content. when you play SDR content in HDR color space it look washed. Try to look for some HDR content, like try some movie on Amazon prime video
Brilliant review man.... need to see comparison next between this and the u7k but this was great information. Plan to get one a these for black Friday so my decision will based upon u reviewing the Hisense
@@Dhughe9if a light bleed is where your screen gets washed over with black but the screen is still on and slightly glowing then I just had that happen to my warranted Hisense roku 58” not sure which one specifically but it was on the really cheaper end around $250-300ish or so. First one did the same thing about 2 months in, used the warranty and this one that just did the same exact thing after 2 1/2 or so years did the same exact thing. Pretty disappointed I wouldn’t think it would be anything to do with Roku since that’s just the smart tv software stuff on the Hisense tv but I don’t ever plan on getting another Hisense after this. Damn shame I still have an old Hisense 1080p tv in the house that I got about 10-11 years ago and works perfectly fine. Still no issues yet.
We tried TCL as a cheap solution for a restaurant and have had nothing but problems. TCL didn't honer their warranty on 1 TV that was dead out the box and the other 2 required me to communicate for 37 hours to get them to replace. We now charge $600 to install any TCL for someone.
I bought a new Q 7 and returned it. It had great contrast and blooming control but I couldn’t get over the poor upscaling. Nothing under 4k looked clear. Ended up getting the Hisense U8k and love it! Way better upscaling. Way better everything really. Just don’t use it in a room where you’d need a wide viewing angle. Actually bought a Samsung Q 80c and returned that too before I got the U8k. The Q80c is junk. Lots of blooming, poor contrast, average upscaling. That basically performed like a budget tv.
We have this TV for $569 for the 55" inch version here in Manila. Looks like a very good value considering its gaming and black level performance. Will probably buy it next month as my old one gave up already. Thanks for the review.
I bought 3 55in Q7's for iracing and they are a nice triple setup with outstanding black levels, I dont see or feel the flaws he talks about but it could be because im only gaming on them
Not a bad review, except for TCL, BUT I shall stick with my Sony XJ90 at 65" for now. I do appreciate the honesty of your reviews, Caleb, and I thank you.
Thanks as always for an informative review. I wonder if you could do an explainer about the difference between stutter and judder at any time. The difference between them is one of the only things in tv reviews I still find confusing.
This is a great question to answer in the You Asked series. Would you mind sending that question to YouAsked at digitaltrends .com ? Just so I can save it and mark it for answering in the next episode?
Stutter: The video appears jerky or choppy. Judder: The video appears to "strobe" or flicker. Stutter: Try restarting the video player. If that doesn't work, try updating the video player to the latest version. Judder: Try changing the frame rate of the video file. You can usually do this by using a video editing software. If that doesn't work, try changing the refresh rate of the display.
Why would anyone pay to have a TV calibrated when it is simple to find calibration settings for many TV's from reputable websites? Sometimes you have to rely on more than one video review folks and do a little work.
I wish TCL would move up into the OLED Platform. They might be able to give LG, Sony, and Samsung a run for "The Money". I am not sure how much better they can make Mini-LED Technology. They will not be able to solve for side angle viewing. Still Debating on TCL QM8 or LG C3 or G3 or Sony OLED $$$$$.
I agree that it would be great to see TCL move up into the OLED platform. They have a proven track record of making high-quality TVs at competitive prices, and I'm sure they could bring that same level of quality and value to the OLED market.
TLC is such an underrated brand. Bought a LG C3, returned it 2 days later because surprisingly I like my 500 dollar TLC 4K better. I'm not even kidding lol. Like the video mentioned, their contrast control is amazing, which is the thing i hate about oled.
It's good to see a review touching on lower quality media. All I watch is low bitrate content from streaming services. What manufacturers do well with this?
So, first very informative and useful review. My question though is, I'm a faithful TCL buyer, love their products, is this TV a replacement in their line up for the 5 series line? Currently own a 50 inch qled 5 series
Okay Caleb.....is the Q7....better than a R635. Basically rite now they can be had for the same price. I realize the 635 is older. Just curious. Thanks
This tv is 600 right now at Best Buy. I don’t know weather to wait for a sale or just jump the gun and buy it. I plan on getting a ps5 to go along with it as my pc has crapped the bed 😢
I liked the pricing compassion slide out, doesn’t need to be too specific as it allowed the viewer to get a better idea of where the tv sits within other tv’s that that price point.
First time moving out and looking for a budget TV for the living room for me and my girlfriend to watch tv shows, movies, and sports. No gaming. Q750G or R646?
It is not yet clear what the new models will be called, but they are likely to be numbered higher than the current models. For example, the new 805 model could be called the 815 or the 825.
I got the 75 inch and I love it now i did have to buy a fire stick 4K max streaming stick cause I noticed on some of the streaming apps the colors didnt look right so i tried the streaming stick and it fixed it 98% of it so i don’t know if it’s the Google interface or what especially on TH-cam TV and Netflix also for gaming its awesome i got a PS5 the picture is awesome and gaming is smooth.
It's great to hear that you're enjoying your new 75-inch TV! It sounds like it's a great choice for all of your needs, from streaming to gaming. I'm glad to hear that the Fire Stick 4K Max streaming stick helped to improve the picture quality on some of the streaming apps.
The only issue I have with my 55" is that both PS5 Slim & Series X suffer from Inverse Ghosting with VRR enabled. Really a bummer because the TV is exceptional otherwise.
I am looking at getting this tv , but I prefer watching my movies in how they were meant to be at 24fps ... and at the 12:40 mark he has me rethinking my choice
I love all the information and I'm captivated by it but when I really stop and think about it. I don't know anyone that has ever had their tv calibrated. I would like to see reviews about TVs being done with out of the box performance in mind. With tweaks we can do ourselves to improve performance.
I am looking for a budget tv around 50-55" to connect to my PC to run some exercise games on like Zwift. Any recommendations? I was looking at this tv because it was $500 in 55" and 120hz but let me know what you think a good option would be. I was even looking at the cheaper Q5 in 50" as its only $250 and 4k 60hz should be good. Thanks.
Looking for a dusl computer monitor tv relacement because my vision keeps deteriorating. Would this be an economical choice? Most recommend a samsung tv
I'm currently using a 55" 4K 60Hz Samsung from 2016 (purchased in April 2017). I want a 4K QLED running at 120Hz with built-in Bluetooth. The cheapest Samsung with those specs at 55" is about $1300 CAD (QN55Q80CAFXZC) while TLC has a model at $750 CAD (55Q750G-CA). Question is, at such a high price difference, what am I compromising by going with TLC? Is this a brand that only last a couple of years before showing problems? Cheers

I got the 55" last month. Did I make a mistake? PS I've noticed that it has an occasional disconnect with my my Samsung q60 with Earc. Is that something common?
the TCL QM8.......That's still only available in the UK?!?!? 😂😂😂 I STILL WISH I could just get a 65" SUPER GOOD 4-8k, mini LED display WITHOUT SPEAKERS AND A SMART HUB.....I have an Xbox Series X and a Pioneer AVR & Pinoeer and JVC 5.1 surround sound. I have thought of getting a Short throw Laser projector BUT I'd have to mount it UPSIDE DOWN ON THE CEILING!!!! 😂😂😂 So it sounds like I can get the sweet display without the $$$ in the Q7 and just disable the smart feature and speakers. THANKS CALEB!!!!!!!
Not sure if you read the comments but I need some help. I bought a QN90A two years ago and it has dimmed considerably to the point I hate it. I also found the ultra wide viewing angle presented vertical style banding dse that bothered me. I want to replace it but can’t decide what to get. The Qn90c doesn’t seem like a huge improvement. The Sony x93l intrigues me for the upscaling and lack of dse but again, not sure if it’s on the same level as the Qn90a. The LG G3 looks awesome but as an everyday tv, I worry about upscaling and burn in. Thoughts?
I don’t think it has regressed, per se. Some setbacks yes, but overall this Tv looks far better than the older 4 and 5 series sets. It does more right than it does wrong. I tried really hard to make that point clear in this review, but I also understand that it’s kind of convoluted and confusing.
I’ll say this, though: I think you would find the Q7 to be a significant upgrade over your current 4 series. Like, you would probably be one of the folks I suggested may get a Q7 home and then wonder what I was whining about in this review.
@@Caleb_Denison Thanks. Would you say it's a downgrade from the 6 series? The Q7 seems to be in a weird spot. Better than a 5 series but not flagship. I would go QM8 but for some reason TCL decided not to release it in a 55". I could go for an older 6 series as some places still have them in stock but supplies are running out.
@@jackinblack9105 I was in the same boat as you, eyeing the QM8 which seemed to be the successor to the 6 series, but disappointed that TCL decided not to offer a 55" unit. It seems that most manufacturers now consider the "big screen TV" category to mean 65" and up. The 55" 6 series' mini-LED backlighting does have the upper hand over the Q7 in terms of peak brightness and dimming zones, but the Q7 is still pretty impressive-looking in my opinion, especially considering it's a QLED. I decided on the Q7 over a 6 series mainly after reading that it shares the same image processor as the QM8. If you do end up going for a 6 series, I wouldn't get anything older than the 2022 R655 model.

Just bought his tv. Upgrading from a 720p where all dim colors are grey so I’m sure I’ll be happy. Also looked like the best tv at this price point
Very well done review! Fair-handed but honest. Oh, and the audio was good.
FINALLY! I've been waiting for this review for months!

Thanks for the review! Checking this TV out as I am replacing an older Smart LG that can't support You Tube TV, which I believe does
Now that you mention it, that sounds familiar. I’ll look into it on the QM8, which is coming back to the test bench for a vs. against the X95L. Might have to go on a rant about that.
Happy with my TCL Q7!
The only possible rival I see would be the U7k.
smart consumer
Agree, I am also swinging between TCL Q7 and Hisence U7K. Comparable.
This Q7 compared to R646, wich one its better? Does the R646 get the bugs already fixed with proper updates ?
Thanks for the review.. I sure would like to see a review of the hisense 65u7k. PLEASE!
Yeah, I've been patiently waiting for that review myself 😅
It’s coming! Sony X95L first, then U7K!!!
Great..Been waiting for reviews as I passed up the latest sale prices of the U7h as I think the U7K will be a bit better. @@Caleb_Denison
While you await the full review on 65u7k, let me summarize the features:
The Hisense 65U7K is a great all-around TV that offers excellent picture quality, a wide range of features, and a competitive price.
Hi Caleb! I love you’re reviews-Very informative! What are your thoughts about the issue of “spying” for TCL TVs and Hisense TV?
THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THE WARRANTY
When will TV Manufacturers incorporate a faster ethernet network port? The current 100mps speed is nearly 10 years old.
Just bought this TV for my PS5 for $650 at Best Buy on sale for Black Friday. Let’s go.
About to pull the trigger and buy this for my ps5 . How is it holding up for you ? Is the 120hz that noticeable of a difference ?
Can you review this TV again since the updates came out? I have the 75 inch and it is definitely brighter.
Interesting review! Aligns perfectly with Andrew Robinson’s. I do wonder if the issues could be addressed in firmware?
More than ANYTHING in ANY review, I for one appreciate greatly your honesty!! Thank you, Caleb! Seriously!
U7k light bleed is why I am returning it and trying the q7. Motion handling was bad too
@@Dhughe9 oh really. Am wonder if that was just a one off bad panel or is it a Hisense thing.
@@yuripeters2991 not a bad panel. I swapped the u7k already for a second panel. Both same issue
@@Dhughe9 oh damn. Sounds like i would be better with the tcl then
@@Dhughe9if a light bleed is where your screen gets washed over with black but the screen is still on and slightly glowing then I just had that happen to my warranted Hisense roku 58” not sure which one specifically but it was on the really cheaper end around $250-300ish or so.
I am Confused between the tcl q7 and the Hisense u7k . Pls recommend one out of the two 😊
same
I've have my 75 in q7 and I love it . Works great with PC gaming and looks great for Sports ie: football
We tried TCL as a cheap solution for a restaurant and have had nothing but problems. TCL didn't honer their warranty on 1 TV that was dead out the box and the other 2 required me to communicate for 37 hours to get them to replace. We now charge $600 to install any TCL for someone.
If you get this TV and watching everything through 4K Apple TV, does that help picture issues?
I bought a new Q 7 and returned it. It had great contrast and blooming control but I couldn’t get over the poor upscaling. Nothing under 4k looked clear. Ended up getting the Hisense U8k and love it! Way better upscaling. Way better everything really. Just don’t use it in a room where you’d need a wide viewing angle. Actually bought a Samsung Q 80c and returned that too before I got the U8k. The Q80c is junk. Lots of blooming, poor contrast, average upscaling. That basically performed like a budget tv.
How long did you have the Q7 for testing?
@@charlespokerface about three weeks
Which size did you have?
So basically you “returned” all the quality and bought the cheapest tv you could huh? 🤣🙄
@@BRONCOBOY7575The Hisense U8K cost more than the TCL Q7 bruh😂
We have this TV for $569 for the 55" inch version here in Manila. Looks like a very good value considering its gaming and black level performance. Will probably buy it next month as my old one gave up already. Thanks for the review.
I bought 3 55in Q7's for iracing and they are a nice triple setup with outstanding black levels, I dont see or feel the flaws he talks about but it could be because im only gaming on them
I love that bed. I think I might get one too and I think you could put the bed all the way down without any feet which is how I kind of would do it.
I SO MUCH like the new studio!!
Would you recommend the Q7 over the 6 series r646?
I wish TCL would move up into the OLED Platform. They might be able to give LG, Sony, and Samsung a run for "The Money". I am not sure how much better they can make Mini-LED Technology. They will not be able to solve for side angle viewing. Still Debating on TCL QM8 or LG C3 or G3 or Sony OLED $$$$$.
I agree that it would be great to see TCL move up into the OLED platform. They have a proven track record of making high-quality TVs at competitive prices, and I'm sure they could bring that same level of quality and value to the OLED market.
Are we getting the U7K in 85”? The Q7 is what I was really hoping to pick up
Between TCL C645 and Hisense U7K , what is better? Or are they all good??
TLC is such an underrated brand. Bought a LG C3, returned it 2 days later because surprisingly I like my 500 dollar TLC 4K better. I'm not even kidding lol. Like the video mentioned, their contrast control is amazing, which is the thing i hate about oled.
I had the same experience with the C2, contrast was frustratingly more difficult to dial in than I thought.
Interesting!
Thank god there was no TH-cam back in the 80s. Our dads would have gone crazy before even buying a tv for us…
Hey Caleb which would you prefer the TCL Q7 or Amazon Omni Qled ?
How is the off angle viewing vs the U7K
How likely is it that the terrible accuracy is a Q/A issue and this particular sample isn't representative of what the average buyer will get?
I was thinking the same thing! Like maybe it's the same issue that Caleb had with the Hisense U8K.
I too am glad that BDI is sponsoring this video. Can we can a Digital Trends discount code for some BDI Furniture 😊?
I wish this came out last week 😅😅 I was eyeing this one for 999 and just last night it went up in price slightly.
I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on this one. I'm a tv enthusiast. But this is for my kid and his ps5, I'm sure he wont mind. lol

No Roku anymore? That sucks, I want nothing else. This will drive me away from TCL.
Do we know anything about the new TCL models expecting to come in 2023?I wonder if 805 is the 845 model thats been already out for a while now
It is not yet clear what the new models will be called, but they are likely to be numbered higher than the current models. For example, the new 805 model could be called the 815 or the 825.
Paid $598 on Amazon for my q7. I'm enjoying it.
How do sports look on this tv?
The only issue I have with my 55" is that both PS5 Slim & Series X suffer from Inverse Ghosting with VRR enabled. Really a bummer because the TV is exceptional otherwise.
Does this TV have an expert menu for users? I do my own ISF cal and I'm not really too familiar with their menu system.

55Q750G vs 55r646
Which one would y’all pick
I'm currently using a 55" 4K 60Hz Samsung from 2016 (purchased in April 2017). I want a 4K QLED running at 120Hz with built-in Bluetooth. The cheapest Samsung with those specs at 55" is about $1300 CAD (QN55Q80CAFXZC) while TLC has a model at $750 CAD (55Q750G-CA). Question is, at such a high price difference, what am I compromising by going with TLC? Is this a brand that only last a couple of years before showing problems?

Not sure if you read the comments but I need some help. I bought a QN90A two years ago and it has dimmed considerably to the point I hate it. I also found the ultra wide viewing angle presented vertical style banding dse that bothered me. I want to replace it but can’t decide what to get. The Qn90c doesn’t seem like a huge improvement. Been considering this tv to replace an aging 4 series in the bedroom. Disappointed that TCL seems to have regressed from the excellent 5 and 6 series.
