The entire talk between Frank and Matt was awesome as hell! Especially knowing both characters you agree with both.
i was re watching the arrow season 5 first episode where he got kidnapped and when he shot those dudes it reminded me of this
They did a great job of capturing the philosophical differences between Punisher and Daredevil. It actually brought a tear to my eye, seeing their intense debate.
interesting to note that during the *Daredevil* v *Punisher* crimefighting methodology discussion, Frank referred to DD's activities in Hell's Kitchen as a *"half-measure"* which were the exact words his *former mentor / surrogate father-figure* Stick used to describe Matt's crusade in S1
Their lines about trying again made me tear up again

Frank's bullet wound is very important. Damage to the prefrontal cortex can cause individuals to lose their capacity for impulse control; it's the part of our brain we use to moderate our own actions. Combine a PFC injury with a devastating tragedy, and you have a recipe for a serial killer. It makes Frank Castle more sympathetic - he's damaged, not evil.
Ironically, Matt's philosophy is based on free will (i.e. people have the ability to try and do better), and Frank's free will has been compromised by a traumatic brain injury.

@@judemiller Frank's philosophy is based on a darker long run, and I agree with Frank. I believe that people with good hearts are something the world needs, but they underestimate how evil people can be. Frank knows of how evil those gangsters are and he puts them away for good.

Unfortunately , Superman and Batman both follow a similar code , hence we cannot do that like they did with Daredevil and Punisher , it either should be Batman-Deathstroke or Superman-Lobo.

@@WackRusDud Well , because this is an older Batman , remember " 20 years in gotham , how many good guys are left , how many stayed that way " This is a Batman who is done with his old crime fighting style because he sees nothing has he done has benefited Gotham , the only thing he has felt in this 20 years is loss and only loss , he lost a Robin , his death haunts him which is why he has kept Robin's suit as a display in the bat cave to remind him that he failed him , he wasn't gonna feel that again , which is why he no longer shows mercy to the scum , he kills when its necessary , but most times he has only tortured them really violent.
Frank left the gun on the old man to threaten Matt, not to kill the man.
PUNISHER Don't fight good guys, that's why they talked on the rooftop. You can see in the civil war comics that he didn't fight Captain America when Cap was beating the life outta him. Cap asks why he didn't fight back, Punisher just answered "coz you don't deserve it, cap". So knowing his character's principles, it is realistic that they debated on the rooftop
Mat & Frank going back and forth was amazing
Guys, the Dogs of Hell are actually kinda like an easter egg, because they were in Agents of Shield before being here on Daredevil.

@@StupidWeb I saw an interesting comment by a criminal psychologist who interviewed murderers. He said "90% of the murderers I have interviewed, I am confident that if you let them walk out of prison today, they would never kill again. They tend to be crimes of passion, or crimes of desperation."
@@silversalmon9909 oh god yea, TH-camr Larry Lawton has talked about how the US has a 70 percent recidivism rate, which is largely because the prison system doesn't focus on rehabilitation, but instead punishment

The rooftop scene is iconic Punisher for me. I have no clue how many times I've watched clips of it.
This was easily my favorite episode of the series thus far and not even just because of that kick-ass fight scene.
I like that this show presents justice on a spectrum. Daredevil, The Punisher, and Fiske/Kingpin all want to "clean up this city", and we as the audience can discuss why one is better than the other. Daredevil kicks ass as needed, but still has to deal with the same guys ending back up on the street. The Punisher punishes without acknowledging who may be capable of redemption. Fiske initially tore down the criminal syndicate from the inside, but still aimed to rebuild it so he could control it. I look forward to future seasons.
I loved this episode! Both Charlie and Jon did a great job defending the point view of their characters! The fight and the scene in the hospital with Foggy were great too! Amazing episode!
This was the best episode in my opinion. So much action and the rooftop talk was just plain awesome :)

I second that. That show came out of nowhere for me. I saw the whole thing in 2 days. Beautifully done show and not based on a comic thank goodness.
It has a very good feeling, also the episodes don't really feel like Episodes, more like movies to me :P

They both make good points, but Daredevil does something Frank doesn't seem to, he tries to improve the community so that there will be less crime. They both serve a purpose but in the long run Matt will accomplish more. For every guy Frank kills a new guy will step in. Matt is pretty self righteous about not killing when a lot of the people he attacks definitely have life altering injuries. There is no hard right or wrong here.
Foggy in this episode was badass.
I really love this episode. Ever single one of the main characters had a great moment. Foggy is really shining so far this season, first the DA and now this hospital scene. This episode is so good - thanks for a great reaction.
Since you mentioned Frank and Matt's different philosophies there is a video I would love to see you react to after you finish Daredevil S2: Wisecrack's The Philosophy of Marvel's Daredevil. It does have spoilers for both seasons so don't watch it right away
remember season 1 when they were trying to help that old lady in the apartment and she was killed by kingpins robbers, i think that was the same old lady they were talking about because the shock on Matts face says it all.
Travis Taylor no, it wasn't... DD actually confronted the guy who pulled the trigger... Besides, Fisk was behind that... Irish mob is a whole different animal. In fact, Fisk and the Irish were rivals... Elliot Grote aka Grotto worked for the Irish mob...
The look on Matt's face was sheer shock... He knew Grotto was bad, he just didn't know his crimes included shooting an old lady. Plus, it probably reminded him of Mrs. Cardenas.
God, next episode will blow you away.

The first 4 episodes of Season 2 are by far some of the best episodes ever put on the small screen.

The Punisher is driven by the death of his family. The same as batman but worse because he was a soldier and a grown man. No one can know what they would do living with that regret and tragedy.

This was my favorite episode of both seasons. The awesome clashing ideologies of Daredevil and Punisher, the stairwell fight that I enjoyed even more than the hallway fight, a tiny glimpse into Punisher's past thanks to Karen, and Foggy being a clever, well-spoken son of a gun. So excited for more Blind Wave reactions! (as well as Zoom vs Reverse-Flash)
This was probably my favorite episode of season 2. Glad you guys really enjoyed it as well.

Daredevil is hands down my favorite Marvel Show... But Punisher is not aging well. Not after all the shootings at schools, malls, or randomly anywhere taking lives. It doesn't matter if his shooting is neatand no ine ever was in danger inside the hospital, he shoot inside a hospital cause was right and needed, nothing is different from him and those random shooters.
