What I love about your channel is that you don’t use ridiculous titles to grab attention. No, “Oh no, the horrible “thing” has happened.” It’s always a good title with your beautiful smiling face. I stop watching channels when they pull that baloney.

I know Josh is shy but it’s nice to see him every once in awhile to help where needed. Thanks Josh. 😊

A very wise older lady told me that planting veggies feeds the body but planting flowers feeds the soul. I miss her very much.❤

Try putting copper tape around the edge of your beds to deter the slugs. I’ve found that helps and is relatively inexpensive. (Plus, organic)

Hey Becky, if you end up with only 1 surviving tomatillo plant, make sure you go and buy a start or two because you need at least two tomatillos to get fruit.

Also, a bunch of garden experts have said that putting eggs in the ground with your tomatoes isn’t really going to help with calcium because it takes waaaay too long to break down the shells. If you want to use egg shells to add calcium, it’s better to dehydrate and powder them, then ideally compost them. If your soil tests didn’t show depleted calcium levels, then probably the only calcium issues you’ll have are absorption issues from inconsistent watering.

A whole egg takes ages to brake down, what you wanna do is use a mortar and pestal to crush and grind the shells up so the plant has access to the calcium 😊

Becky, Kevin and Sarah from Living Traditions mark their fabric so when they rotate their crops they are able to use again . In one video they explain the spacing they use so it works for multiple different planting/plants. Your doing awesome 😊

I know its early to mention this, but when its harvest time make sure to plain cook and puree some of your veggies. That way youll have homemade baby food for Baby Acre. You can also make things, like double batches of mashes potatoes, freeze it in ice cube trays, then transfer to freezer bags. It will be perfect portions for the little one. You probably knew this already, but thought I would mention it just in case. 🙂

Hi Becky, I'm so sorry you fell. I hope you are not hurt. I love watching your content. You have been keeping me company as I have been recuperating the last 6 weeks from kidney cancer surgery, living vicariously through you. I'm ok now they got it all and will be heading back to work on Monday, May 22, I look forward to seeing your upcoming videos. Congratulations to you and Josh on Baby Acre. I'm so happy for you both. Bye friend 🙏 ❤

Have you ever tried starting your seeds on paper towels? I do that with the ones that are better to direct sow, just so I know they’re viable. Once they sprout, I put them in the soil. It works very well for me.

Hi Becky I first want to thank you and your family for everything you taught me and my family regarding cooking, gardening and having a homestead. This was my first year planting seeds. My seeds did not prosper, only two plants survived. One hybrid Amish Roma tomato and one jalapeño. I took it as a learning experience not a failure. I will still continue to try.

FYI~ Jessica from Three Rivers uses red solo cups for up-potting before she plants them in her garden. She picks them up at parties that were headed for the trash cans. She also saves them year to year. 😃
