tried to review the tomato self watering planter but the link is not working. it is a great product the cherry tomato is grow fine in R.I. MOM loves it. at 82 years old. I Need to get a pet friend.
Me and Tuck are glad to hear that. We will get that resolves ASAP! ❤️
@@jamesprigioni thank you for your responce
James and King Tuck, we ordered the vertical growing string and clips. But that's for next year. I still have almost 200 jars of tomatoes canned from last year! 🥰♥️💓💝💞😘💕 For the Young King.
Omg one of those looked like an octopus!!!❤
Good video ,I'm an old timer growing tomatoes for over 60 years , I tie mine to metal rods I drove in the ground 30 years ago .
You were ahead of your time!
Yes, in 1968 was the first time I grew my own tomatoes, I had no clips only twine and some bamboo stakes. I credit my success to growing my Sweet 100s on a south facing side of my white garage. I had tomatoes all summer well into October. All done in Western Washington. Pretty good for an 18 yr old beginner.
I am pretty new to gardening. You can tell this is a good channel if it's acceptable to experienced gardeners as well as beginners
@@BigboiiTone it IS!! James has changed up how he grows every single one of his plants several times trying to find what works best for him. WE then get to see them all :)
@@lorib5323 Totally agree. I live in an area with long winters and short amounts of sunlight. We really don't have time for experiments to fail and start all over again. We have to have things planted and in the seedling stage at minimum. Without James P and one other gardening channel, I would be having a much harder time. James has saved us a ton of disappointment and wasted seed/supplies!
“Let’s Go!” Ok, I can stay awake a few more minutes to watch one of my fav TH-camrs.
Great technique! Vertical growing tomatoes saves space and improves air circulation, leading to healthier plants and easier harvesting. Happy Gardening.
Cattle panel trellis also solves the tomato management and allows you to pick the tomatoes at a lower height.
I agree. And to save on gardening expenses, and for time saving simplicity, I just weave the tomato vines back and forth through the cattle panel trellis for support. Believe me this technique has been well tested in the wind and rain and crazy storms at my house. Sometimes I will use Grower's Edge Garden Plant Ties. It's reusable spongy plastic coated wire. It's cushioned twist ties for your plants.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤there are not enough hearts on the planet for that little guy!
James - you have the best channel on youtube! I can't tell you how much I love your gardening designs- I've made your above ground planters for my yard and could not be happier. I can't wait to try your tomato rigs. Thank you for posting- from Columbus
Agreed❣️
Great tip with the staking/anchoring.
❤'s for the Tuckmeister! Boss Man!
I like that you planted garlic between your tomatoes. Garlic can help repel spider mites and other pests that commonly affect tomato plants.
I love tomato clips. The first ones I bought were clear plastic and they didn’t last long but I found some in a terra cotta color that are uv resistant and still look great going into their third season.
James watching you grow tomatoes last year it encouraged me to try all new varieties this year. I can’t wait to try all of your great advice. And love seeing the boss! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ for Tuck!!
Very nice❤❤
Very nice with that bottom piece of wood.
in the UK, we trim out the top of the tomato plat after 5 or 6 trusses of fruit, but this is due to the short growing season in the UK
Looking forward to the pruning video that you mentioned. I just can't let my tomatoes get as tall as they want to grow so need to know how to properly top them without stressing or killing the plant. Thanks for your energy and content James! ❤Tuck❤
❤ Another video to get me enthusiastic about hanging in there with my beginners garden. Thanks!
You got this!! Me and Tuck are standing with ya 🐕😁❤️
❤️❤️❤️for Tuck! And thanks for the tips, James!
I've been binging all of your tomato videos today so I'm pleasantly surprised to see another great tomato video! YAY! 🍅🍅🍅
Set up 4 trellises just like this this year James! Excited to stop climbing ladders to tie tomatoes up minutes before a thunderstorm comes through 😅
A couple of years ago I found these 'corkscrew'-tomato-stakes in Germany, and I would never want to do it any way else anymore. Not sure if they are sold in the US but they are the best! They are about 8ft long, the first part is 2ft straight, you drive that into the ground, than come the 'corkscrew' part. Very very easy to lead the tomato around the stake, it holds great also when it's very windy. No ropes, mayby two regular clips for the first part of the grow. RVS so really sustainable. The plants can move up and down without anything ever getting stuck or to tight. I love them! Edit: these stakes also work great with bigger sunflowers. After season, if you manage to turn and twist the sunflowerstem in one piece free from the stake the stem itsself has a corkscrewshape. If you dry these stems you can use them next season as corkscrewstakes for the tomatoes, they last only one season but work very well!
I am growing all indeterminates this season and needed these tips. Love your channel and Tuck is a charmer!
I might stick with something that lasts for one season (functionally and materially) that isn't the plastic clips, it seems like that's introducing more plastic into the environment.
I tried the clips - made it 1 season and they were brittle and crumbled - not what I wanted in the garden 😒
Once I saw you showcase these rollers last year I went online and bought them. I have now changed my cucumber beds to utilize them as well. I love them, and I noticed this year they have gone up in price. They are getting popular and the companies are cashing in.
9:10 I’m so glad to hear that Tuck is not a fan of tomatoes because they can cause pancreatitis in dogs. I learned this when my Boxer got into my tomato plants.
I love the clips too. I was shocked how much easier it is than twisting it up the twine.
Great tips! It’s cool to see your learned methods as you grow season to season. Thank you for sharing!
❤❤❤❤❤❤’s for Tuck!
I stake and don’t do single stem. I usually grow 2, 150 yard rows worth and just keep it simple, in addition to some heirlooms, Cherry, Grape, and Romas. I always have WAY more tomatoes than I can ever eat and can, so the neighbors, friends, and family get all they want. 😅
I’m liking those clips! I’ll have to give those a try this year.
send them to me!
Genius methodology James. Thanks so much.
❤❤❤ for Tuck!
I grow mine just like you do because you taught me in a different video. We love this way
ThanksJames its a pleasure to follow you .Your garden is always neat and you have some great techniques that are well explained.
I love those plastic clips. This is my first year using them. I’ll definitely show this trellis to my husband. We have such a small garden space, this would be perfect! Thanks for sharing!
love little Tuck! 🧡🧡🧡
Thanks James and Tuck❤
GENERAL TUCK IS A HANDSOME BOY... GREAT VIDEO!
Your narrow raised bed is a great idea. Thank you James and ❤❤❤❤for Tuck.
I've learned so much and ordered so much stuff from your videos. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and technics. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for Tuck!
Great picture of Tuck at the end of the video. Thank you for teaching us about gardening James.
One word: GENIUS!!!
We are in the same zone and I was also worried about my tomatoes due to the cooler weather, but they are growing like yours so I must be doing something right!!
Thanks for sharing all your experiences. Saves me a lot of trial and error. ❤❤❤❤
James, I admire your dedication to the garden. Learn from you a lot. The question is, what are you doing with all the crops.?
Yep! Tucks a Cutiepie!❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤ for Tuck! I have learned so much from your channel, keep ‘em coming !
Thank you James and Tuck ❤❤❤
Love the videos James, and love the passion and energy.
Thanks for the great ideas James! I actually purchased those clips and ecxited to used them this season in my 'tomato hardin'.
Thanks for all the great info, JP! What a great system you've developed. So glad you shared it and with such detail! Hi Tuck - You are awesome!🙂❤❤❤
Very well done James, you show things in depth with many details and closeups. Thanks for showing us those tricks that make our life easier.
FYI the red tomato clips last longer than the clear. When I first started using them many years ago, they were all red. The clear ones came out and they were a lot cheaper so I bought them but they were failing before the old red ones were and they were several years older and had been out in the sun longer. The red ones are a lot harder to find these days but for some reason the sun doesn’t make them crack as fast as the clear ones. Love ya Tuck ❤❤❤❤❤!!!
James, thank you for sharing your technique with the tomatoes. I just planted mine👍
This was so helpful!!! All the different examples with good/bad for those techniques. Thank you so much!
Great info James. Thank you.
Great video! I love your tomato trellis, brilliant man. Thanks for sharing. I def plan on copying your system.
Love seeing the boss 😍♥ Thanks for the video!
I have been soo busy that I haven't watched your videos for a long time. the first thing i did was to look for Tuck🧡
So excited to try this method! I’ve enjoyed my rivalries the past few years but now I realize I’ve been growing leaves more than tomatoes.
I bought those clips last summer, after seeing your video. What a game changer. Largest Harvest I ever had, with more plants in the garden! Thank you James. Hearts❤to Tuck.
I love to see Tuck still there by your side! Blessings to James Prigioni
Tuck is the star ⭐️😉!

Fantastic technique 🍅 ❤
Love ❤ watching your videos! Love seeing Tuck out in the garden. Seeing him in the garden, makes me smile and remember my little Garden Buddy, Chocolate - this will be my first growing season in 18 years without him - We lost him a few months ago. But Tuck wandering around munching on the yummies….makes me remember Chocolate doing the same!!
Thank you❣️
Good stuff! Thank you!
Thanks so much - I put a pole straight across for my cucumber & tie string trellis - now I need to your way of trellising - I think - I’ll try ..great idea .
Thanks! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great ideas.
I have the Florida weave going on and my plants are getting too tall , black beauty tomatoes are going to be ready soon ❤ taste like blueberries i heard😁❤❤❤❤ have a beautiful day
I always enjoy and get something out of your videos🤩🙌
❤❤for tuck, great info, thanks.
Great tomato tips! And ❤❤❤❤❤ for Tuck!
Thank you so much 😊
Love your videos! And Tuck! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
IMPRESSIVE * and cute little dog 🐾🍃
I started using the clips this year, but forgot this was the video that got me started.
Very happy with them. Much better than the impenetrable sagging wall created by the Florida weave.
I didn’t use the pulleys and probably don’t have space.
I combined the clips with wrapping the cord around the plant. I put a clip, wrap until it needs more support, then add another clip.
Hoping the clips last a few years. I keep them in a store plant pot out in the garden so they’re handy.
Thanks!!
This was a really good video. I’m going to trellis my toms this year. Thx James from Andy in uk
Thank you!!!
❤️❤️❤️ to Tuck!

James, you inspired me to try new varieties this year in my very small NYC backyard grow bags. Can't wait to finally get a taste of soldacki, cherry bomb, and mountain magic. And cant wait to snack on sungold again! Lots of late bloomers and tons of rain here ~ cant wait to transplant. Thank you for all the inspiration!! And ❤❤❤❤❤ for Tuck
