Of course the timer stops at 00:13:00 as 13 is a Kingdom Hearts thing and the update that brought Sora into Smash was 13.0. Man now you're a part of Numora's 13 obsession.
11:51 Well...no. Kingdom Hearts is a bit complicated. But the Keyblades are "sentient". I mean they choose their wielder. Sure, other people can wield them...but not for long. According to what I have heard, Keyblade can be a weird element thing to suit the ability the non-wielder person has. For Mario, is fire. Which is why Mario is able to use the Keyblade.
So what you're saying is... This isn't just a cool-looking bit for a reveal trailer, but also lore-accurate depiction of what would happen if Mario picked up a Keyblade? Damn, maybe Sakurai and Nomura really are best friends after all.
@@dude9410 I mean only Keyblade-wielders can wield a Keyblade. Originally, Mario was supposed to swung the blade to open the keyhole. But was changed because Sakurai knew that only Sora and other Keyblade wielders can wield one.
With all this attention to detail, it makes you wonder why Min-Min's trailer isn't very lore accurate. Now I haven't played ARMS, but from what I understand the stretch of the ARMS are permanent and those with them need to wear the masks to keep control of them so they don't go all noodly. Meanwhile in the trailer, Min-Min has regular arms and no mask until she gets to the battlefield and goes through a magical girl transformation. I'm not saying this makes the trailer bad, I'm just curious as to why Sora got this lore accuracy and Min-Min didn't.
This is pretty true. But also to add to it, Keybladers usually also have to be bequeathed by other Keyblade wielders/masters. This was something unique for Sora himself since he wasn't bequeathed. However considering he carried the heart of a keyblade wielder(Ventus) within him for most of his life, the keyblade probably recognized both Sora's own strong heart and the Ventus' heart within him as validity. This is also why Xion and Roxas (as some would token as sora clones) can use keyblades, because it recognizes the equal validilty that Sora was given. Keybladers are some of the few people who can take/use another's Key. As seen by Riku, Xenahort, etc. since they all have the valid qualities: Strong Heart, and is a valid bequeathed keyblade wielder. Someone without both those qualities like: Jack Sparrow, Squall Leonheart, Mario, and Kirby for example can only hold or chuck the keyblade. But no matter what the Keyblade (unless taken by another valid wielder) will always return to them.
The reason Marth is voiced in English now but not in previous Smash games is because Intelligent Systems never needed to get an English voice actor for him until Fire Emblem Fates, which released between Smash 4 and Ultimate. Since Intelligent Systems found an English voice actor for him, the Smash team decided they might as well keep him as Marth’s voice
And the reason why Cloud is still voiced in Japanese is because his VA is a union worker which Nintendo doesn't do business with. Sephiroth is likely Japanese-only also for the sake of consistency.
@@jmaster4941 quick question. Are both the new AND the old VA union workers? If it's only the new one....then what the hell? I would've GLADLY taken his old, more experienced with the character VA anytime(plus George Newbern Sephiroth is BEST Sephiroth!)

strange censorship rules. the whole "good boys and girls" thing is something the translator made up. the point is that sakurai really wanted to include mai, but could not do it without bumping up the rating, and covering her up would go against her character
Bayo and ZSS are playable, the team isn't making a new design/model for a background character that doesn't even always appear in the background of 1 stage.
I like to rhink that Tabuu is actually the adult representation of the child playing with his toys, so basically master hand/crazy hand. And i guess he's trying to forget all of his childhood memories by putting them somewhere, may it be a closet or chest in real life which is the subspace of the game since every place just kinda come into one
The Smash Series is one of, if not, my most favorite game franchise to ever exist. From Smash 64 being my first game, to growing up with it and seeing 80+ fighters from so many different games that I love and cherish in one game absolutely blows my mind. Great sin vid Charriii! Hopefully, IF we get a new Smash game, your next vid on Smash will be just as great, if not better!
Great! Now we have 13 Soras! I bet you THIS was Xehanort's plan all along! As a side note about Chrom still being in Robin's Final Smash: In my own head canon, Robin is using an Einherjar of Chrom, which is a special card introduced in FE: Awakening's DLC where you can summon a phantom replicant of a character to fight alongside you.
Something I think deserves more credit than it gets is that the Simon and Richter trailer actually shows the LM3 poltergust BEFORE LM3 was even announced, either the game was intended to be announced sooner or this was left in as a way to get people speculating
That's what I assumed to. You can see the light touching his skin but everyone else was still too far away. When Sora shows up, the light shines down on everyone and you can see that the people closest to the keyhole revived first.
I like to imagine that Galeem is the father of Master Hand and Crazy Hand while Dharkon is the mother who is a huge Karen and is trying to break the toys. It also explains the imprisonment of the hands as they can be described as being grounded.
Honestly, I still agree with Matpat's theory. That Galeem represents the higher-ups of video game development corporations anymore, demanding deadlines and stifling creative freedom by trying to cash in on nostalgia or...something like that, represented by it cloning the characters and then stuffing the lesser 'spirit' characters into those mass-produced dolls. Likewise, that Dharkon represents the toxic part of video game fan-bases constantly pushing for what they think they want in a way that just adds to the stress. So in the bad endings, either Galeem wins and Smash Bros dies as a cash cow shell of its former self, or Dharkon wins and multiple conflicting ideas that don't actually know what they want tears the whole thing apart with their incessence. So the good ending is the spirits being set free. Neither corporate nor toxic fandom get their way, and Sakurai is able to let his brainchild be what it will be. Or something like that. I probably butchered it at least half a dozen times, honestly.
This is a perfect way to cap off the year. I might be asking for too much, but I’d love if someone did a Sins style video on the entire game, with even the Challenger Packs getting their own sections. That would be an amazing watch!

When Sora got revealed, I mostly got a sense of dread from imagining the sheer amount of strings that might have been attached, considering it is DISNEY. EDIT: Spelling.
@@jazzycat8917 I hope that somehow Sakurai was able to talk to him like "dude please for the love of god just handwave as not that important" but.. if it is canon.. would.. maybe his classic route be the "story"?
funny enough, since someone actually brought the creator up, he was the problem. It wasn’t Disney, in fact, they were all for it. Anything for more exposure, even though they’ve already had plenty over the years. But yeah… It was mainly the creator himself that was a hurdle. Not Disney.
The sad thing is Kayzua (I hope that's how it's spelled) is looking down and should have seen Kirby fly away which is a sin in my opinion and should not have happened. Though it is funny.
SENTENCE: EVERYONE IS HERE!!! Me: *Looks at WaLuigi in the corner* He's either gonna kill someone, everyone or someone is gonna kill someone or everyone for him.
1:05 even worse: THE POLTERGUST CAN SUCK UP BANDAGES! in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, some level in the clockwork area, there are mummies who you gotta pull the string thats loose on them after making them fall to suck the bandage off of the mummy. and dont tell me the poltergust G-00 and the poltergust 5000 are different because i know damn well they are the same, one just has a part for Gooigi and the plungers aaand i bet theres areas in Luigi's Mansion 3 that you have to suck bandages up. thank you for listening to my random ramble about this specific sin, have a nice day.
12:00 My head cannon is that Sora got into smash bros after being sealed up in that pod for a year in chain of memories and therefore smash would be cannon to the kingdom hearts timeline
6:34 I will never not find the Mai thing funny. She must be so salty she isn't aloud in the same game as Zero Suit, Palutena poll dancing with her staff, shirtless Sephiroth and Shulk, the Aegis and *Bayonetta.* It's crazy to me how they drew the line at someone who'd likely just be a background character that wouldn't appear all the time.

2:30 well that's simple, because Marth was actually starting to be voiced in English by Yuri Lowenthal between 4 and Ultimate.(Roy getting English is too fit in with everyone else) As for Cloud and Sephiroth....that's just Square Enix just needing to be stingy in SOME form( somegrudges don't just disappear)
Question. If Cloud and Sephiroth WERE voiced in English, who would voice them. By the time Ultimate released, Steve Burton and George Newbern were replaced by the Remake cast. The Japanese VAs stayed around since KH1. So who would voice them? Maybe the Remake cast but those aren't the same characters. The Smash versions are based on the Original Compilation titles.
The reason why Marth and Roy now have English voice actors is they hired them for other works after Smash 4 was released, Marth first got his in Code name:S.T.E.A.M in as an Amiibo character in 2015 and keep voicing him in Fates,Warriors and in Heroes ,Roy first got his in Fire Emblem Heroes in 2017 and the reason Cloud and Sephiroth don’t have their English voice actors is because of union issues
Marth has an English VA because of Fire Emblem Warriors, Heroes, and Codename Steam, where he’s voiced in English. It’s Yuri Lowenthawl, or however you spell it, the voice of Spider-Man in the PS4 game.
Technically he’s had an English VA since Codename S.T.E.A.M., which had Fire emblem characters unlocked through Amiibo. The first FE appearance is Fates, where, again with Amiibo, you can recruit Marth. Roy though is completely because of Heroes.
How does the entire smash roster having a tough fight with galeem make sense when sephiroth just sliced galeem in 2 seconds? Cloud literally goes on to defeat sephiroth in a sword battle.
4:00 my best guess for this is public parties fighting for more hero or dark fighters to take over the game and the hands are people fighting for that side.
9:43 With the power of anime. Honestly Galeem is lucky Sephiroth can't do the thing where someone slashes space itself and then it goes right back to normal but the enemy is still cleaved right in half.

There should have been another sin because in Byleth's reveal trailer they just leave to join Smash and most likely leaves their friends to deal with Solon.
I’ve always thought Galeem and Dharkon were meant to represent the way people handle toys and media, in a sense. You have Galeem, representing order who’s created world is an organized singularity bursting with life, but without much interesting stuff for the characters. The World of Light has everything in one spot which can be considered quite boring design with a game like this that has so much potential. Galeem could represent people who buy toys and the like only to stuff them on a shelf or in a case and stare at them, not really experiencing the joy they can give because they’ve lost that childlike wonder. Even his design, with shining wings and a bright orb, looks like it’s completely new, much like most collector’s toys because they’re kept in mint condition. Then you have Dharkon, representing chaos. His world is split off into three entire areas wholly separate from each other, each with their own gimmicks without much rhyme or reason. The World of Dark is multiple ideas chaotically put together without much thought, and completely misses the point of the opportunity of bringing multiple franchises together for the sake of pure chaos. Dharkon could represent those who mindlessly destroy and break their items without realizing the importance they have, not caring about the significance of something because they’ve lost that, again, wonder. I mean, he didn’t even capture everyone, he just saw that Galeem had them all and wanted them for himself because he didn’t want Galeem to have them. His design is a bunch of mangled roots with an eye in the middle, which seems like the perfect representation of a design without much thought. If I am correct, then the two would represent extremes of the way people use their toys and items. Stagnant display, or thoughtless experience? It would line up with them using the hands who even more explicitly represent chaos and order. It’s in their names! The difference is, that balance they have is important to the Smash Bros. universe, hence why they work so well together and regularly team-up. Galeem and Dharkon then proceeded to pull the hands apart not understanding why they’re the left hand and right hand. In order for a person to completely experience Smash Bros. like it is, you need to understand the significance but also remember to enjoy the experience as something to play.
One of the sins for Pyra/Mythra's reveal should have had a faint Chuggaaconroy screaming "ARE YOU F***ING WITH ME?!" since this reveal went up during his Xenoblade 2 LP. That would have been a funny little reference.
He himself literally said that if he had a nickel every time a Xenoblade character was revealed for Smash while he was LPing thier game of Origin, he'd have two Nickels. Which isn't alot, but it's weird that it's happened twice now.
But he isn't a wielder of THAT key. Sora found a key that didn't belong to him and was able to use it. The one Mario found belong to Sora and since it is on the ground and didnt disappear anyone could have picked it up and used it, not just Mario.
Sakurai had an idea of Mario using the keyblade to unlock a door which sora was in, but they decided against it, specifically if how keyblade works in KH. Then the fans have that completely out of the window by thinking him throwing the key is wielding it.
Another sin for Byleth trailer: How the heck Sothis manage to get Amyr when it should litterally not exist yet... For context, Amyr is a "fake" legendairy weapon created during the war that happens in the game which, chapter 10 happens before the war, so did she divine pulse to get it from the future?
11:30 I have a theory that with the number they have is the order the person who plays/battles with them got Mario as a toy first and therefore Mario is the hardest to let go of

I feel like I'm late to say this, but at Sora's reveal, everyone loses their spirit when everything gets dark, then Mario gets lighten by that flame, making him OUT of said dark which allowed him to wake up again. Also on the first game, that one FF character I don't remember his name but wields a sword gun DOES hold the keyblade which then returns to Sora, which is similar to what Mario did: holding it briefly before it got out of his hands, and so that doesn't make him a Keyblade wielder
The biggest sin is how Zelda regards Marth's comment of "We each need to take down about ten." as a sign of fear. Also how did Mario even know to put his hand into the flame that contained Sora's Keyblade? We were always taught to not put our hand into the fire, yet Mario does so deliberately.

While on the subject though, I wish it were possible to choose dive into the heart as its own stage rather than as a stage hazard to hollow bastion. Which by the way, why does it count as a stage hazard? There’s nothing “hazardous” about it XD
Well what about that sprit battle where there are 2 Sora's?
@@PFEANYCS I'm guessing it's because it's a transformation, and from my experience, any transforming stage is restricted if hazards are off. Still, i agree with you.
@@Player-jh4ko I'll look into the spirit battles, but the info i gave came directly from the stage's tips and secrets section in-game.

All this just to get 13 Soras. Nomura is truly a madlad
Makes me wonder if Sakurai was fully intending on releasing him on update 13.0.0 of all updates.
Of course the timer stops at 00:13:00 as 13 is a Kingdom Hearts thing and the update that brought Sora into Smash was 13.0. Man now you're a part of Numora's 13 obsession.
I mean, there are many more 13s involved with Sora, but that’s a crazy story for a different time.
@@angel-of-light-kelly1355 I know, but if I list all the ways 13 is involved, I would exceed the 10,000 character limit of a TH-cam comment.
Triskaidekaphobia
You may be onto something. After all, when Kirby copies Sora not even *he* wields a true Keyblade, only a mass of energy that resembles one.
@@dude9410
I mean only Keyblade-wielders can wield a Keyblade.
I would've GLADLY taken his old, more experienced with the character VA anytime(plus George Newbern Sephiroth is BEST Sephiroth!)

strange censorship rules. the whole "good boys and girls" thing is something the translator made up. the point is that sakurai really wanted to include mai, but could not do it without bumping up the rating, and covering her up would go against her character
i swear sometimes charii pronounces words in ways that don’t even exist

That would make some sense. Still, the devs are lazy (Young Link's Final Smash, anyone?)
Something I think deserves more credit than it gets is that the Simon and Richter trailer actually shows the LM3 poltergust BEFORE LM3 was even announced, either the game was intended to be announced sooner or this was left in as a way to get people speculating
I'd assume Mario came back to life because he was the closest to the fire
That's what I assumed to. You can see the light touching his skin but everyone else was still too far away. When Sora shows up, the light shines down on everyone and you can see that the people closest to the keyhole revived first.
13 Soras
Nomura: Yeah, everything is connected, my master plan is working
It could be 13, it could be 14 if it isn't where he ends up at the end of remind.
@@devonm042690 It also means that for Sephiroth to get into the game, he had to kill the higher-ups.

When Sora got revealed, I mostly got a sense of dread from imagining the sheer amount of strings that might have been attached, considering it is DISNEY.
EDIT: Spelling.
The only thing more terrifying than the Disney strings is the lengths Nomura is going to go to to make this canon to Kingdom Hearts
Not Disney.

And teen ben10
Technically he’s had an English VA since Codename S.T.E.A.M., which had Fire emblem characters unlocked through Amiibo. The first FE appearance is Fates, where, again with Amiibo, you can recruit Marth.
Roy though is completely because of Heroes.

I SAWED THIS ELEMENTAL IN HALF!
The sin should’ve been
"The why when I fight galeem in WOL with sephiroth, it doesn’t one shot him"
I’ve always thought Galeem and Dharkon were meant to represent the way people handle toys and media, in a sense.
Merry Christmas, Charriii5
Just because you briefly hold a keyblade doesn’t mean you’re a Keyblade wielded.
Look at Squall and Jack as examples
Mario technically held the keyblade for a moment

Should have sinned that Byleth can't fly, which she did in the trailer for no reason
Well in 3H if you talk to Petra after receiving sothis powers, she’ll point out that in her homeland peoples who change hair colours gain powers like flying, then wonder if byleth could be capable of flying to. Could be a reference to that conversation.
This was fun to watch, I laughed at all the Kirby related jokes, Kirby is golden boy lol
We all know that and with the quote being stated in the video, it makes it better
As far as I’m concerned Kirby is the god of Nintendo universe overall

Eh, not the craziest I’ve seen anyone get over something KH related. Pjiggles went crazy over KH coasters and Smash in his Sora useless smash facts video. Coasters
I mean Sephiroth cutting Galeem wasn't too much of a surprise like in crisis core when he was fighting Genesis and Angeal he was cutting through the Shinra cannon like it was butter, I guess it is a computer simulation but he destroyed the entire Shinra building in his fight with Cloud in Advent Children.
What is surprising is Darkon not coming in the proceed with trying to kill everyone like in the game when you only defeat Galeem.

I just got this game yesterday for Christmas. Talk about pitch-perfect timing.
Nah, people did talk about how Luigi died in Simon's reveal. It just stopped being as relevant as Mario dying because Luigi only did it once
Well, Mario does possess pyrokinesis in his Smash moveset so in-universe, he might have some sort of immunity to fire. At least, that’s just a theory.
