When Bill was asking what other super hero movie developed organically, my mind was thinking Guardians and was so happy Van mentioned Guardians 3. Looking forward to seeing it and agreed that it felt like a real risk and taking chances on unproven characters and actors.
I'm sorry I didn't know who Van was at the start of this, but he's amazing to listen to. And they have a great dynamic to boot!

Uh no, no, no, the first MCU movie made by Marvel Studios is Eric Bana's Hulk. I know that Marvel likes to pretend that isn't the case, but the fact is that Edward Norton's Hulk is written as a sequel to the Erica Bana Hulk.
It is a terrible movie, but it deserves its recognition.
Superman 1 and 2 is the start in my opinion but Raimi’s Spiderman was huge.

Iron man is a great super hero film great summer 2008 movie and has a great lead performance..i.t isn't the dark knight...of course less people tried to emulate dark knight...it's actual brilliant filmmaking..how many directors are nolan lol...the marketing angle for both films is totally different...dark knight was epic for being in your face...
One of the best superhero films ever it led to; CAPT America and Thor which are both great in their own ways. This is probably the fourth or fifth most important comic film ever. I mean the Mount Rushmore is; Superman the motion picture; Batman ‘89, Blade, Iron Man and the dark knight. Surely those are the top tier comic films of all time. Just because of several factors not only Trail Blazers of their eras.
Where Robert Downey, Jr.'s career was when he signed on for Iron Man the Marvel Studio would only agree to sign Downey for a 1 movie deal for about 500K. But after this movie was successful Downey was able to negotiate a deal for 30+ million a movie. After that Marvel mde their actors sign on for 9 picture deals even if they only intended to use them for 1-2 movies.

This is Robert Downey Jr man….third act is weak but rest is all Downey and on his charisma everyone involved in making millions from Marvel Studios should thank him. Especially considering there wasn’t a finished script.

How did they not know about the Burger King cheeseburger and Downey? I would have expected that to be an easy fact to find.
Iron Mongerer only wanted Tony killed. The captors wanted the weapon after they didnt kill him and learned who he was.
Favreau got the tone just right. Combination of witty dialog, stars, and action. Downey playing himself was brilliant. Oddly, same guy in Sherlock Holmes. Hey, it's that guy from Ally McBeal! It's not a great movie, but it's eminently entertaining.
