I honestly thought they were going to complete Thanos's character arc in Endgame instead of reverting him back to a moustache twirling baddie. I think it would have been completely doable if Thanos used the timestone to visit futures to see if the universe "balanced" itself after his intervention, and since life always finds a way, he realizes his efforts are futile.
I would have liked it to follow the sequel to the comics. Have it start similar with the avengers finally locating Thanos’ pimp planet due to the massive outburst of energy. Only when they get there they find thanos beat to shit missing his snapping arm, and rambling about some mad lad called the magus wanting to unmake reality. Then rather than a time travel maguffin hunt, you have a race across the galaxy where the avengers have to work alongside thanos, and a manipulative gold dude who looks suspiciously like magus to try and get all the other ingredients needed to stop his scheme. Then at the end you can have the inevitable betrayal where thanos tries to take the gauntlet as soon as magus is dead, Adam warlock comes up with the winning strategy, and the avengers snap everyone back
hm thats a good point. he could have also just as easily wished for the universe to be balanced yet abundant. His motivations made sense in the comments because of his infatuation with Lady Death and her goals but not so much in this
There is a reason the Davos view got put into a hugely popular popcorn superhero movie. They aren't going to prove the view wrong when they want to get it out there.
Imagine bringing people back to life after five years of being dead. They'd be refugees. There would not be enough food or services anymore for them. You would cause MASSIVE disruption. I was a widow and got remarried three years later. If my formerly dead husband showed up, I'd be in a very strange place. Would i still be married to him legally? Would i have to pay him for the house i sold when he was dead? The complications would cause mass chaos, riots and wouldn't be heroic at all.
yea they really skipped over SO many things during those 5 years, and how chaotic the world actually would have been with half the population randomly coming back.. i mean imagine you were in a hotel taking a shower, then you got dusted back in the shower.. but some other guests was in the shower. there is just so many scenerios about the snap bringing everyone back that were never talked about
There’s a thing i don’t see a lot of people talking about, this movie KILLED Hulk. From the beginning of the mcu they told us that Bruce and Hulk are different things, during Age of Ultron and Ragnarok we understand that Hulk is not just a parasite, but an actual “person” with his ideas, fears and a whole personality. Endgame comes and all that character development just disappears, Hulk is no more, the only thing left is a green and buff Bruce Banner
If you go back in time and change things and it creates an alternate timeline, then Captain America would have lived his life in an alternate timeline. Because he clearly changes the timeline. Old man Steve Rogers would never show up. They make time travel rules and then ignore them for fan service.
You forgot to mention that if Cap went back in time and stayed there, that should've branched a new timeline with the movie's own logic on time travel, right? How does the disappearance of past Thanos not change the present somehow, but then the current timeline is intact with the presence of a second captain America altering past events as well? This movie was filled with so many contrived inconsistencies, nostalgia bait, and forced humor, that the final battle was the only good part to me. Also, fast forward to present day and the movie makes less sense with the inclusion of the multiverse. And clearly, through the Dr. Strange movie, there were more options and ways to defeat thanos.
@@invisiman1250 u r so stupid. In loki or in eternals their explanation of thanos' timeline doesnt make sense. I mean didnt that passed time of that passed thanos timeline changed as well? How come it did not change??? It just doesnt make sense. But stupid mcu fans will just nod nod nod 🦧
You didn’t like the classic time travel joke?? “Ohhh damn you brought her back too early!!” “Oh man now you brought her back too late!!” “Ugh, HULLLLLLK, come on man get it together!!!” “There ya go!!!!!”
Let's be for real, Endgame's biggest problem is the Time Travel. This is why Infinity War is the best Avengers movie and my personal favorite MCU movie.
There’s one thing on that too, when I found out Steve Rogers chose to live in the past with Peggy: 1) He knew HYDRA was in control of SHIELD and never told her about it nor stopped it 2) He’s not living in the former present he exited from

I love this movie but it honestly baffles me that Scott got saved by a rat. It’s so hard to believe that nobody in the writing room could think of a more interesting way to get him out the quantum realm
Agreed. The whole Scott being stuck in the quantum realm plot thread was very clever and intriguing - only to be paid off by a wet fart and a giggle. Now that I think about it, the same can be applied to paying off undoing the snap, hunting down Thanos, “I used the stones to destroy the stones”, stupid smart hulk... very disappointing.
I think the entire point of the “Thanos back in time” bit wasn’t actually about Thanos, but Gamora. They need Gamora for the third guardians movie, but they also needed to kill her for story in Infinity War. The writers couldn’t think of a way to bring her back without being corny, so they decided to do a time heist. At least that’s what I think.
I'm almost disappointed you didn't mention Thor's nerfing and the fact that the movie didn't care to make his weight gain a serious issue and instead used it for laughs throughout.
They needed to show that he lost everyone and that would effect someone and he’s a god but they need to show even gods can be hurt and have struggling mental health
they kinda did, in endgame hes lost so much of his power like in infinity war he literally had thanos beaten within 5 seconds but in endgame he cant even touch him. i think they showed his diminish in sort of endurance and strength pretty well
@@cosmo754 Him being nerfed itself was actually an alright idea. With him having lost basically everything and no goal going forward it makes sense that he would break down. The big problem for me was that it was not depicted as sad or disappointing but instead as funny.
Will no one even dare tackle the fact that Iron Man wielded all 6 stones like nothing while half God Quill needed power of friendship to tame just one of them? Mkay.

What bugs me is how time travel in this movie operates by whatever rules are convenient rather than anything that makes sense. They make a point that you're not going back as much as you are bringing the past forward, thus why its okay to kill the past version of Nebula, and yet Captain America going back and then returning as an old man implies that he really did go back in time and stay there. Then you have how there is still a need to return the time stones to the exact times and places they were taken from, meaning that once again this is actual travel backwards with real responsibilities and consequences. But if that's the case then it really does make no sense how Nebula is fine killing her past self. Then there's how Loki escapes using the Tesseract. Where does he end up? logically, accounting for the actual time travel Steve and the need to return the stones implies he should be running amok causing time paradoxes, but obviously that doesn't happen. This movie has such a bad rule system for what is and isn't possible that it's just an insult to other movies which actually had thought put into how time travel works.
You were supposed to pay for Disney Plus to Watch Loki and find out. But don’t worry, I didn’t watch Loki, in case you were wondering if I did. Also no one gives a sh$t or knows about Disney in the 26th Century A.D. #kaosnova
It was literally explained in the movie, they're hardly even moving through time, they're going to a whole different timeline that's a different point in its history but still parallel, like the rick and Morty reset button episode
@@carlmccartney1025 And contradicted by Steve Rogers aging up into old Steve in same timeline he traveled back in time from. Steve said he didn’t have anything to make a return trip. But he still aged up into the same timeline he departed from.
The problem is the time travel. I can think of a billion scenarios that would’ve made things easier or reasons that make things harder for the characters.
@@intheclear3492 I know I'm not the op, but what I would've done is somehow make it so that the dead characters' souls were trapped in the soul stone. The currently alive characters would then track down Thanos, spending at least half of the movie doing so to bring the dead characters' souls back. This would essentially erase the need for time travel, and if we still need death in the movie, make it so that Iron Man sacrifices himself to bring the souls out of the soul stone. Oh, and for the soul stone to bring back the souls trapped inside of it, it needs the sacrifice of one or a few souls to be able to do so. And no matter what anyone can do, the sacrificed souls can't be brought back. Hence why I said Iron Man could do it. And to make it where the Infinity Gauntlet can't be used again, maybe either have Ant-Man shrink to a size that no one can see it, trap it in the Quantum Realm, or have it tossed and hidden somewhere across the universe. I'm not sure how they would fit a gigantic climactic final battle though, but that's my idea for a better way to bring back the dead characters instead of time travel.
For me, I would have had Thor leave Thanos alone instead of killing him. Also I think Thanos should’ve hid the infinity stones in different parts of the universe and make the stones indestructible so thanos can’t destroy them with a snap. Then bring in another villain (maybe bring back Ultron with a new and improved body and armor) this villain’s presence would be enough to convince Thanos to hide the stones because this villain wants the stones to wipe out all life. So now the avengers have an actual threat throughout the movie who is also trying to get the stones instead of 2/3 of the movie being filled with fan service. At the end when the heroes find the stones and get ready to bring everyone back, Thanos shows up at the end to make sure his plan stays in place. This may not be perfect but at least it cuts down on the plot holes and inconsistencies, then think of a way for Tony, Steve, Natasha, and Bruce, to die a heroic death on the battle field. (By the way the reason I vote for Ultron to return is for redemption after his disappointing outing in Age of Ultron, also it’s easier to say Ultron had one last body that never got destroyed in sokovia than to explain time travel, furthermore it was confirmed in “what if?” That Ultron had the potential to defeat Thanos and that he was intrigued by the infinity stones himself, and finally, because I think it would be weird to randomly throw in Galactus instead of Ultron. Just wait and build galactus up for phase 6) So what do y’all think?
@@MasterCombatant I love this idea for sure, I don't think Endgame needed the climactic final fight scene, although it did look cool, it was mostly for fanservice.
The thing that made me not like Endgame is simply just how predictable it was. I remember leaving the theater after Infinity War saying “I hope they don’t go the easy route and just travel through time to get the stones and change what happens” but no, they couldn’t be any lazier. I was really anticipating something crazy that no one could really think of like perhaps going to where the stones originated from? It doesn’t have to make total sense or line up with the comics but at least try and do the unpredictable like I called this movie 2 years in advanced like ugh
@@Liam-jy7yi most people didn't predict black widow was going to die, they thought it'd be iron man and cap. Scarlett's contract wasn't up either, this recent one was her last movie.
@@Liam-jy7yi but i kind of agree with iron man being safe and predictable but at least it made narrative sense. And the idea that only two main heroes died is peetry dumb Marvel has killed off characters before, sometimes they do it and no one's care like Quicksilver but sometimes it's someone like Yondu. It's rare you get an MCU death but i appreciate them.
That's exactly why I'll probably never see these movies more as "an entertainment for a really boring evening". I originally went to Endgame in theater only because my good friend is an MCU fan and it was important to her, but I can also admit that I had a shred of curiosity about the resolving of story's conflict after seeing Infinity War. And dang. I sat throughout the whole thing and felt nothing but annoyance. Annoyance from all the cliches (I'm not saying here that cliches are always a bad thing), *constant* interruption of possibly good emotional scenes with comic reliefs out of place and, as many has said, convenient coincidences especially. Everything felt way too mary sue, the flow of the story relied fully on random factors, not on characters' actions. And that's just bad, creativity-lacking writing.
what I found dumb was the "Only 1 possibility bs" -endgame is 1 possibility -Thor going for the head was 1 possibility -Starlord not punching thanos is 1 -Time travel to redo the Thor or Starlord scene thats 2 more I listed 4 on the top of my head easy. felt this was just plot device to kill everyone for dramatic effects.
You are not alone This movie is pure regurgitation, poorly developed, moving the lore inwards for self-homage ourposes. The Apex of play-safe, a souless cash-grab full of fan-services to capture childish minds. What is funny is that Infinity War is infinitely superior in all senses ( despite of not being a perfect movie ). Thanos needs.a Gauntlet: goes to.an Allien Forge Nidavellir Avengers need a Gauntlet; goes to Stark's garage...
Not to mention, the MCU timeline is made needlessly more complicated for fans and the newer writers. All because Strange gave up the stone and saved Tony, only for Tony to die anyway and for half of the universe to be jumped five years into the future.
Also gotta love how they had Hulk snap his fingers so the gauntlet would fit thanos later. Like why wasnt this gauntlet heavily damaged like the last one? Why didnt it just change shape?
@@eddyoneal612 Yea, but can thanos adjust it by himself? Surely it has a safeguard so that only some people can use it, but they specifically made Hulk take the gauntlet so Thanos could use it later. If Thor used it, it wouldnt fit Thanos
@@nucleus691 No not quite. Once again it’s an adjustable gauntlet, made to fit any hand. If u rewatch the scene where tony finished the gauntlet it was the size of a human hand, until hulk approached it and the gauntlet scanned and adjusted to his hand size. If the hulk were to take it off and Thor wanted to wear it, it would shrink and adjust to Thor’s hand, meaning it’s universal.
@@eddyoneal612 I get that part. But it adjusted to an avenger, one of the original ones at that. Would it adjust to Thanos? Especially a thanos from a different time line? Hes not an avenger so surely the gauntlet would be like "Nah, not gonna fit this random giant"
My issue with the end game is how shitty they treated the hulk and thor. That infinity gauntlet won't hurt the hulk at all ..but yet his arm is in a sling
Gamma radiation should have given him a power up instead of hurting him. Also the writers forgot that Hulk is supposed to have a healing factor almost as fast as Wolverine’s.
When Thanos "used the stones to destroy the stones", the stones weren't removed out of that reality but instead were simply atomised so the stones are technically still there (just not obtainable). This is different from what the ancient one was talking about which was "removing" them.
The fact that Markus and McFeely thought they could get away with making fun of Back to the Future and The Terminator when they had written this pile of garbage completely baffles and infuriates me. Also, as a long-time fan of Doctor Who and sci-fi in general, the time travel rules they did come up with never fail to give me a hernia.
Absolutely. This was one really specific thing that bugged me so much. But tbh their thought process while writing those "jokes" was "hurr durr endgame good all other movies bad".
except endgame really wasn't that bad. And they were only making fun of the time travel rules since it was different then the one set in stone in the mcu. The time travel itself wasn't really bad either.
Time travel doesn't work with such big stories like Endgame, because, instead of limiting the world, it expands it, and that freedom makes it very hard to write a story that is compelling on more than just the most surface of all levels. It makes it very easy to contrive a plot though, and that is probably one of the reasons why they wrote the time travel story - so people could have their cake and eat it, too. So they could bathe in nostalgia and get new adventures with the same old characters - but at the cost of stakes, emotion and logic. There are numerous sins in Endgame, but the worst of them all, in my opinion, is that the writers killed Thanos in the beginning of the movie. All the personal conflict between him and the superheroes was completely gone after that. The writers even had to contrive a new motive for his younger self. I think one of the biggest signs that either the writers or the director had lost sight of what matters is the fact that the Professor Hulk transformation happened off-screen, when there was essential character development to be had for the Hulk after IW. That is an unforgivable sin of storytelling. Like so many others in Endgame.
@@tizyman7120 oh God yes endgame is bad...... there was no tension in this film and the first 2 and a half hours of this film is slow and the last 40 min was tacked on

This... is actually REALLY good! I was expecting this to just be pointless nitpicking, but instead you bring up some solid points about the movie's logic and rules! I still like the movie, though!
MCU fanboys think Endgame is the best movie of the year??? I'm pretty sure 1917, Marriage Story, Parasite, The Lighthouse, The Irishman, Ford V Ferrari, Uncut Gems or Once Upon A Time In Hollywood are much better movie of the 2019 than Endgame

8:18 “This is just a shitty way of making things seem more dire than they really are.” This is EXACTLY how I felt when Strange says he only saw 1 victory out of 14,000,605 probabilities - it was something you’d expect to hear from an excitable pre-schooler recounting a story they were making up on the fly. Adjusting the story so that Strange sees multiple opportunities that the team progressively miss until the window narrows at the end would have worked far better and raised the tension of the final conflict significantly. Great video, agree with all points. I’m a huge Marvel fan but Endgame could have been so much better...
I think the other timelines are these incompetent characters doing the same thing over and over but in those 14million+ timelines, real logic was a thing. The last one was the only one with ridiculous luck and plot armor.
Thank you! Someone finaly said it. I really enjoyed Infinity War but I was so let down by this one. I especially hated what they did with Hulk and Thor. Both characters were wasted for just comic relief. And don't even get me started with the cartoonish CGI. Most of the times it looks like Robert Downey Jr's head has been stuck to the suit and his neck moves in the weird way. It really takes me out of the movie. 2008 Iron Man did it so well. What the hell happened? In the end, all I wanna say is that endgame was a cashgrab. They could have ended it in Infinity War with Thor using the storm-breaker, but greed won.
Iron Man 2008 actually had Downey wear a practical Iron Man suit at least from the chest up for the shots where you see his face while suited. That’s why it looked much better back then, but Downey hated the process of putting on the practical pieces that he literally just requested to the producers, “Can’t we just CG it?” and voilà.
TH-cam just now recommended this to me. And here I thought that I was literally the only person in the world who thought that Endgame felt wildly underwhelming for what it was supposed to be. I didn’t hate it, and I have no shame in admitting that I did get sad at Tony dying. After all, I quite literally grew up on Tony Stark and the MCU. But it wasn’t anything like Infinity War.
My main problem with Endgame was it felt like it was leading to something more. I liked the scene in the beginning when the Avengers killed Thanos on his homeworld because they did not look like heroes. They killed an unarmored unprepared man out of revenge, he wasn't doing anything and wasn't going to. It made me think "wow the Avengers are going to learn they can't solve all their problems by beating up bad guys" and made me think it was going to be a more complex movie about morality and solving problems with violence. Nope. In the end, they solved the problem with violence.
When i heard they were using time travel to get the stones back is when i stopped caring about this moving. Its a cheat way out. You're right that at least Back to the future and Terminator had consequences with its version of time travel making it more compelling .
They could have at least gone the Harry Potter route i.e. time travel is possible, but you can't _really_ change anything as whatever you do when you go back already happened because you already did it.
another cringy part from endgame was the feminist part where every lady in the squad comes together to help captain marvel. they all meet up, then decide to go their own ways lmao like wtf was the point plot-wise. captain marvel is super powerful too, so its not like she needed any help anyway.
@@Liam-jy7yi then you clearly were drunk or high when you were watching it. It was so damn noticeable unlike infinity war where it was more subtle and made sense.
@@sean10474 The way that it was executed was the problem, not just "UGH, girl fighting together is so political", they could have made not make it look so force.
Why didn't they just time travel to thanos right after the snap? He was stabbed by Thor and weakened by the snap. That would have given them all 6 stones and the gauntlet.
Hishe comedy dubs with Thor pointed that out too. Speaking of which at the same time 2018 Thor hits Thanos’ chest, the 2023 Fat Thor could have chopped Thanos’ left arm off before he would have flicked his fingers
What was up with the fact that they killed Loki and Gamora just to replace them with alternate versions? like, Gamora did not deserve to be killed off like that, and especially by Thanos. She tried so hard to escape him but he still got to her in the end, what a bad message. They had that one "girl power" scene, but that definitely doesn't make up for the fact that they killed off the two main females on each respective team. Natasha was the leader when everyone was still moping over the snap, and while Hawkeye was murdering people. She didn't have to die to be redeemed, and Tony had a life as well. Both did not deserve to just be killed for shock value. Also, what's with Loki's death though? it made no sense, and lead to nothing, which is why there were so many theories suggesting he was still alive. Finally, Captain America's conclusion. Three words. WHAT THE FRICK! the deaths did not work for the characters chosen and were simply used for shock value, if they had made sense I would be sad but move on.
I agree that there wasnt enough build up for some death scenes, but to claim that Gamora or Nat didnt deserve it or shouldnt be killed is just denying how stories work. Gamora death worked perfectly for developing Thanos.
@@slashercat8649 It was always mentioned that Thanos cares about Gamora the most. And its believable that Thanos is capable of love, even though his version is a bit more harsh than what humans are used to. He raised Gamora as an assassin, because he knows dangers of the universe and wanted her to be safe. Sure, he is still abusive, but that doesnt negate the fact that he loves her.
The death could've been way more fleshed out....they just had Thanos throw her off the cliff like a doll or something.🙄 Thanos should've dangled her from the cliff having one last brief conversation. Just a failure
Actually nebula knew that the soul stone needed a sacrifice as she said it in the infinity war fight that got star lord triggered, so she could have warned them about it instead of letting them go in not knowing.
@@tizyman7120 The problem with that though is that it had been established since Captain America: The First Avenger that Cap didn't give a shit if he died and he even stated at the end of Age of Ultron that he didn't really want a happy ending with a family. Tony was almost always the exact opposite, which was shown in the first Iron Man film when he built that suit in a cave with a box of scraps all to keep himself alive and later when all he cared about was staying alive for his family. That aspect of the film really did make sense, even though everything that lead to that having to be the case was stupid. If they had done the way you suggested doing it, nobody would've really cared since the characters themselves had made it clear what they wanted, with Cap not caring at all if he died and not wanting a happy ending with his family and Tony wanting nothing more than to live that happy ending with his.
Great video. I agree 100%. Here were some of my problems with the film (some are the same as yours): - Thanos dies in first 10 mins - The infinity stones cannot actually be destroyed otherwise the universe would be destroyed - Tony figures out time travel in one night - Hulk is essentially dead as we see no sign of his old personality, just his body, with Bruce's mind. No Hulk development, fights, etc. No redemption. - Black widow and Hawkeye love each other all of sudden? And the most important thing in the universe is each other / their own lives? Didn't get that part at all. - Big group female battlefield moment - Iron man saying "i am iron man" instead of "we are the avengers" or something along those lines since it's not Iron Man 4 - Captain America seamlessly just uses the power of Thor better than Thor himself
I hated what they did with Thanos. In Infinity War, you understood where he was coming from. He didn't have evil intentions, although what he was doing was obviously evil. But in Endgame he became a sadist.
Thats classic Hollywood. Just when they start making half decent villains, they have to mess it up. Loki's point in the avengers was pretty reasonable, so they had to have him make the comment about raping Jane Foster to reignite the evil.
I am literally so glad this video exists. Every major movie review channel has videos about how incredible Endgame is. From the minute I stepped out of the theatre I thought, “That was trash.” I don’t understand why everyone in the universe thinks Endgame is good. I really hope this video gets more popular
I just kind of sank into my chair during the final battle - - I already knew Cap and Tony we’re gonna die (without it being spoiled) and they wasn’t going to kill anyone who was Dusted cos every character was a Cash Cow - - I was so disappointed.
@@MrLaserPony time travels never making any sense commonly. Youre not really supposed to use real science to an fictional movie to connecting real world and all. And even every movies has their own time travel ideas
Thank you. You brought up a lot of things I felt, but couldn't put it into words. For me, the biggest "disappointment" was what they did to Thor. I hate how they keep using him to fail, to legitimize other characters. I didn't find fat Thor funny. It made no sense anyway. The very first movie of Thor he was a huge drinker and ate a lot. There's absolutely no reason to think that this time his excessive eating and drinking would make him fat. I also was frustrated that Cap seemed to wield Thor's powers and hammer better then Thor did in any of Thor's encounters with Thanos. Once again, just for the sake of story plot.
I know it's a bit late but here's my take on Fat Thor. It seems silly, but it works. Thor has always been very sensitive and feels things very deeply. We've seen more jokey, Earth influenced Thor as of late but don't forget this is the guy who sobbed when he found out he had failed Odin in Thor 1 and sulked when after losing most of his people in Thanos' assault. What kept him moving every time he gets into a funk? A call to action, to protect and avenge. Early in the movie he kills Thanos but the thing is, Thor's call to action almost always ends in success... this time there's an emptiness. Yeah he killed Thanos, but nothing is better. Nothing is fixed, and this time he blames himself squarely because he had the chance to stop him and didn't. Thor's call to action failed and now there's nobody to set his sights on or blame or attack or start a crusade over. There's just loss. It makes sense int he moment. Thor has ALWAYS felt things deeply and this hurts him. This is a believable bit of character development. Also the fat Thor thing feels very normal after Ragnarok because Thor has gotten progressively "Earth-washed" as I call it after spending so much time on Earth with Tony and the crew. His mannerisms changed, his jokes changed, yeah the writers changed but the in universe explanation is that his time with friends really changed his personality. If Ragnarok never happened this scene would've felt so out of place but honestly given Ragnarok it feels natural and I promise you, if you liked Thor and Ragnarok you won't be disappointed. In what is one of MY personal favorite scenes Frigga reunites with Thor and he realizes how he's acting. Is this out of character? NO. Thor ALWAYS needs guidance. He gets guidance from Odin, he gets guidance from Frigga, he gets guidance from Rocket in Infinity War and so forth. He gets himself together and him turning over Asgard may seem weird and admittedly I was shocked at first but I have no insider in the House of Mouse info but I'm 95% sure it's because while this story IS an ending for most OG Avengers it is NOT and ending for Thor. Unlike Cap and Tony he is NOT done growing. We will see another Thor movie and he will continue to grow as a person. So if you feel shortchanged just know it's because not EVERY OG Avenger's story ends here. Thor's sure as hell doesn't, there will be more Thor. Also remember, Thor has been alive hundreds of years and only in the last TEN Has he grown from being the jock we saw in Thor 1. He's still a bit young proportionately to growing up, he still has a journey.
14:35 it doesn’t work bringing them back because they are not the same person, it’s an alternative version from another universe, the person doesn’t get back
Also when Cap returns the stone, doesn't he just create another alternate timeline in which that timelines now has 2 of each stone or did he create 6 more timelines it just makes no sense
Also for Tony’s death, another option for it to play out is like in Guardians of the Galaxy, everyone holds onto Tony... it would have made sense and it would have been a cinematic scene

Everything you said at the beginning about killing off the original Thanos, I couldn’t agree more with you. It makes every interaction in Infinity War completely POINTLESS, and now you don’t even get the satisfaction of watching the guy who caused all there problems get defeated, because the guy at the climax is NOT THE SAME PERSON. I completely agree with you, this movie should’ve been about the survivors trying to find a way to defeat him. All I wanted was to see Thanos get stripped of his dignity the same way he stripped the hero’s of their dignity, and they couldn’t even give me that. I hate quoting memes, but: “Endgame writers, you had ONE job!”
You know that version of Thanos that you wanted to see get his, he's dead, in a hut on a garden planet, with his dinner still on the table. Well, some space rabbits probably came and ate it by now, but...not the point. The point is, he WAS defeated. His snap was undone, and he's dead. Granted, they didn't happen in that order, but they happened.
Yes, he may have died, but he still didn’t face any justice for his actions. Honestly the fact that they brought in another version of him just made the whole thing even worse, because now people say “Thanos got what was coming to him.” No, he didn’t. THAT Thanos has nothing to do with anything, the one that was REALLY responsible for ALL their problems died exactly the death he wanted to die, thinking he had won. I mean, you can or can’t believe in Hell all you want, and can choose to believe that he got his punishment in the next life if you want to, but it’s still not satisfying because you never see it. I mean, I’d like to believe he’s suffering for all eternity for everything he did, but you have to admit it would’ve been better if he’d been ACTUALLY defeated first before suffering that fate, instead of the Hell doing all of the work off screen (if you even choose to believe any of that, of course). But thanks for trying to comfort me, anyway. I do appreciate it, and I hope you understand none of my aggression is directed at you, I was just very disappointed by this movie.
I completely disagree with the Thanos stuff. Infinity war was Thanos' movie. He accomplished his goal. He died believing he had won. There was nothing left for his character. In his mind he died a hero.
Yes, and that’s exactly the problem. First of all, his story wasn’t finished. He won, but now he had to defend that victory. And if he didn’t deserve to win, then he MUST fail. Sequels use that template ALL THE TIME. (If you don’t believe me, just look at the template for The Empire Strikes Back. And it uses that logic on the HEROES, no less.) And let me ask you another question. Did Thanos really DESERVE to die thinking he was the hero? The man was just a vindictive genicidal manic who convinced himself that his failed philosophy would save the universe all to serve his own self-importance. Forgive me for using such an extreme example, but Adolf Hitler committed the worst crimes in modern history, all the while believing that he was a hero who was going to “save” Germany based on a failed philosophy. He thought he was a hero doing a good thing, so did HE deserve to die believing that he was a hero and that he won? No. There was just enough justice left in this world that he at least died knowing that his life’s work was nothing but a complete failure and that he would end up the most hated man on earth. And I also hate this idea that the original Thanos was “honorable” and that’s why he deserved to die like that. The truth is there was absolutely NOTHING honorable about him. Yes, he fights the hulk with his fists, but you can’t tell me that if he thought for one second the hulk might actually gain the advantage over him that he would’ve hesitated to use the power stone. Thanos only fought “fair” because everything always went HIS way. And if anything his “you have my respect, Stark” is frankly almost patronizing like he’s the final authority on it, and I honestly would never WANT the respect of somebody like him. So my point is, you mean to say that a man who convinced himself he had to commit mass genocide all in a vindictive attempt to prove past demons that were long dead wrong all while under the guise of being “honorable” really deserved to die believing he was a HERO? If you ask me Thanos (and I mean INFINITY WAR’s Thanos) deserved to die realizing his whole life was nothing but a complete failure. That after EVERYTHING he’d done and learned, he had actually accomplished NOTHING.
Bro Endgame was my 2nd favorite movie before this video. And it is now my first favorite because if your gonna ruin the movie for people, then only ruin it for yourself.
Eternal_Groot I think there getting at is how thanos was a well developed character with a lot of beef with different characters and they threw all that away when they killed him in the beginning..so when scarlet is getting her revenge it’s not really getting revenge that thanos did nothing to her so the weight of that moment or any other moment with a hero is gone ...the thanos that they new and hated died already ...the movie was just trash 🤬
I believe the difference between the characters who died or got old that didn't get resurrected and Gamora getting resurrected is the fact that those characters chose to sacrifice themselves. Gamora did not. I'm guessing making the choice to die in the MCU creates a fixed point in the timeline. I say that, but then the What If scenario with Dr. Strange and Christine Palmer states otherwise.
I completely agree with you at every point you said in this video. Although I am a big fan of superhero movies, I don't think this movie was worth watching. I told my friends the same things, but they are big fans of the MCU that they can't even see the downsides of the movie and consider it the best MCU movie ever. I really enjoyed watching your video.
Like it pisses me off so bad, they established rules to the time-travel; they are going to a different dimension. Then at the end of the movie they pull a harry potter where no matter what you cant create a paradox, you in the future was in the past during the future, but not the first time around
Are you dumb? You dcu suckers literally expect what mcu to literally explain everything. Dcu movies are sht and will always be sht. This is literally a superhero movie and some things will happen which are not possible but this is a fantasy world so yeah it can happen. Also mcu fans know about that tbh. They don't need to explain everything for you dumbos
That's a good point that I hadn't thought of. This whole multiverse thing doesn't work actually. Our universe was the only one where Thanos didn't wipe out everyone and create a new world (that concept alone is ridiculous. Millions of universes and this is literally the only one where the heroes won? That's ridiculous) But that doesn't add up with the multiverse
A thing I've suggested to myself, should I do film reviews; watch a movie and then spend a few weeks or so to let the hype die down and actually think about it. As much as I enjoyed Endgame, the more I thought about some of the events afterwards the more I find something wrong. Like the whole idea that you could just remove Captain Marvel from the entire film and it would still reach a similar ending with only a few, small, changes to try and continue what Marvel originally wrote. Or how the Wasp, who is already at the van her and Scott had to set up, suddenly goes over to Spider-Man and Captain Marvel JUST to go back to the van! But yeah...there were some good points in this video
Keep in mind, whether your opinion on the film is good or bad, the directors literally had 1 YEAR to deliver it. Unlike Infinity War, they had a lot of time, so it was incredibly pressurising but they managed to make it perfectly in my opinion. The movie is a big hit
1) Absolutely all characters after returning commemorated her. 2) They even said that they owe it to her to make it to the end. 3) After final battle, Bruce said that he even tried to resurrect her during the snap. If you haven't watched the movie, then you don't need to write anything about it. Not Endgame but haters are real trash.
@@Sci-Fi_Freak_YT it's only somewhat decent because of THANOS.....but again he's a RIPOFF of Darkseid. Still he had some quotes that were cool and that dimension he entered and saw his daughter was cool. You can ask the majority if they knew who that was when Thanos saw his daughter and they wouldn't be able to tell you. Is this because they have a low attention span? It's just concerning if you couldn't remember who she was. I'm really trying not to bash anyone but come on...Majority of people who watch and like marvel are Mindless drones....that's just a fact. Not to mention marvel caters to little kids so how are these teens and adults not getting it? Once the Snyder cut is released then we can compare each and believe me Snyder cut will require AN ATTENTION SPAN AND Won't be kiddy and jokey. It will be serious.
I am so happy this exists. Everywhere I go, someone is saying Endgame was the best comic book movie of all time (Like the Dark Knight doesn't exist). I sat bored as shit for 3 hours. I remembered nothing from this movie except the time travel nonsense and Captain Marvel showing up out of nowhere because reasons.
Yea, I watched the movie I’m theaters with my friends, and also again with my dad. And I liked it. But then I watched it a third time and realized how dumb and empty it is. Tony’s sacrifice isn’t emotional because it doesn’t make sense. I realized I probably enjoyed the first 2 watches because I was watching with friends and family. Most stuff is better with the homies.
GREAT VIDEO! love your critiques, and I agree. Please consider also: 1.There is NO WAY to "return" the freakin' Soul Stone. What do you do, call Red Skull and say, "hey, you can stick this back up your butt or whatever, we done." (and they did NOT need to sacrifice Natasha OR Clint. They could easily have yanked it away from Thanos when he first got it after Gamora died, before he put it in his gauntlet). 2. Is nobody gonna address the most GLARING PROBLEM with bringing "everyone snapped away" back? What about the people who died because of the disappeared people? There is zero mention of whether they came back. Mothers whose babies died falling downstairs when the mom got dusted and dropped them... Do they come back 5 years later, then have to commit suicide when they find out their baby died that way? Passengers who crashed in the planes whose pilots were dusted? How about the UN-SNAPPED people who "appeared" in mid-air where their plane was 5 years ago, only to hit the ground 32000 feet below with a splat? I.W. even shows that one helicopter crashing into a building in NYC. Would that pilot just appear 5 years later, as high as the chopper had been, then fall to his death, maybe take out a pedestrian too? The writers could easily have had Hulk also mention those who died as a result of the vanishing snapped-away, but they are too lazy and overpaid to do it. 3. Both Vision and Black Widow should have been brought back. Period. I hated the timing of the Black Widow movie, coming along after we all know she is pointlessly, stupidly, unnecessarily dead. I hate the Captain Marvel movie even more. That movie (and its boring, overpowered character) should have been saved for the next "phase" / story arc of films, or just sh!tcanned. Black Widow should have been rescued by Steve when he went to Vormir and learned that you can't actually "put back" the Soul Stone. And Vision? What a horrible waste of the amazing Paul Bettany and a cool character. It should have been HE who suddenly appeared to crash Thanos' ship and beat his a$$. Clint brought a baseball glove back from his home in that time-GPS test. Why couldn't they go to Vision right before he got stabbed in Edinburgh, and yank him away? We barely ever got to see Vision in action. 4. The current "goodguy" Nebula tells "still mean" Gamora that Peter is her boyfriend. Why couldn't Gamora, seeing that Thanos is dead, and that Nebula is with the good guys, just chill out? And do you really buy that ANY version of Gamora or Nebula would "love" or miss or honor Thanos? 5. Josh Brolin is good, but what's with his accent/voice? I don't like the utter lack of mention of why Outer Space Eternal Thanos talks like a Texas football coach. Come on, people. Thanos is from Titan, and it's fine to give him a humanoid face on the CGI body, but that accent is very distracting. 6. Infinity War has a bunch of stupid crap too, but the most RIDICULOUS and glaring is when Black Widow, hardened lifelong pro assassin, walking weapon who coldly murdered human unenhanced soldiers on the Lumerian Star in Cap' Winter Soldier, actually says to the giant Blue Murder Girl Alien creature: "We don't want to kill you, but we will." That is the single most unforgivable piece of feces that the Russos ever inflicted on a paying moviegoer. Those two Thanos thugs damaged Vision permanently, nearly killed Wanda, and were trying to rip the stone out of Vision's head, and when Black Widow, Cap, and Sam showed up, they treated them gently until they Blue Sky-Beamed away. AAGH! That can't be unseen or unheard. And speaking of Infinity War, did you see how powerful Mau the Telekinetic Torture guy was, and how he went out like a lil' bitch in both films, both timelines? But he was absolutely unbeatable in New York in that fight. And Wong made quick work of the giant guy, but they had trouble with him when ALL the wizards were there in Endgame? And the worst of all, is that boring, stupid Thanos, one of the most poorly developed and forced "villains" i have ever seen or read in my life, was too powerful for Hulk, then got more and more stones, but almost got his a$$ kicked on Titan by 3 Avengers and 3 Guardians, then managed to BEAT UP 3 Avengers with ZERO STONES? Did I mention I hate the Stones? Not the Rolling ones, but the Infinity ones. Idiot silly childish plot mcguffins. and if they came from the Big Bang, why was one a Mind and one a Soul Stone?? Who had Minds and Souls at the birth of the universe? And all the Stone devastation should have been limited to one galaxy, as should Captain Marvel , if we must tolerate her. Do you know how huge a galaxy is? Even if the influence of the Stones happens at 100 times the speed of light, it would still take A THOUSAND YEARS to cross our own Milky Way. Science fiction in comic books needs to learn how to Science. I hate both of these movies, and I am glad to know I am not the only one. And like Sleuth said, now we are stuck with all this poop as canon, so that all the drivel they write after it has to take The Snap into account. Thor would have gone for the head, or remove the gauntlet arm. And Etri the Giant Dwarf should have got his 300 people back when the Un-Snap happened. And Hulk should not have suddenly been "scared" to appear in Infinity War. And what happened to the nice romance between Banner and Romanov? We just gonna pretend that was never a thing? Does every adult in these movies, besides Tony and his ladies, have to be totally sexless? And Drax is annoying. Peace out.
You forgot to mention one very stupid moment about the stones, in the first Guardians of the Galaxy only one purple stone could be used to immediately destroy the fucking planet but in Infinity war thanos fights with Iron Man, Spider man, Doctor Strange, using 2 stones, he could eliminate them for a milisecond if the stones worked the same way as in previous movies
@@alexdann5909 Oh yeah, true! The whole idea of the Infinity Stones and the silly glove is meh. Tony would have built an Infinity Computer Mouse one could safely click.
This is Just Avengers: Fan-service! Really bad story telling and nothing really compelling. The sense of strategy and working together was completely missing in Endgame even though all the prior avengers films had a sense of strategy and plan to it... The core of avengers is lost here...
@Damian 1998 Decent idea but stones don't work in universes that they aren't from, and while they could change that for the films it would fuck up a lot of future multiversal mcu films. Again I'm not saying they should've gone with time travel as I believe Endgame is very very very shit, but I can't conceive of a better option.
I know that you thought it was not that good, but for me in spite of the flaws I really loved it but less thanks to this video and you deserve many more subs.
Marvel Universe just ended for me with Infinity War movie. This endgame has spoiled everything. I haven’t seen Spider Man Far from home and not interested in watching any other movies from Marvel. Our investments in these superheroes has gone for a toss. How would Captain react post his fight with his future version ? I mean will it not just spoil that timeline he’s living with ? How can he just forget about that event and handles the crisis by just forgetting about it. Similar things do happen with all other time travel. They might have just use some serum and injected with the characters they were interacting in time travel post their interaction is done just to give some believability. The more we think the more we get confused and disappointed with final result. And one last, Captain went to live his life with his love and became old. That should be different timeline as he went to past and stayed there; it would create a different timeline. But he manages to come back to his present future timeline and sits on bench. Is it not timeline collide ? Marvel - you just spoiled entire game with endgame.
Biggest issue for me is that if they were so committed to fan service, there were a lot of other call backs and character narratives they could have paid off, but by using 2014 Thanos, they robbed us of Scarlet Witch, Nebula and Hulk getting their true redemption moments against the actual Thanos they wanted revenge on. In the comics, it's Nebula who uses the gauntlet to reverse the snap. In this movie, someone else could have done the reverse snap, and Nebula would have been the one to dust Thanos and his minions. That would have been such a badass moment and would have checked the box on their "strong female characters" quota much better than having a grouping of women characters coming together to "help" an insanely powerful character who wouldn't need any help getting past some generic goons. The movie could start the same way with Nebula and Tony on the ship, but Nebula's been heavily damaged from their battle with Thanos and the moon crashing on them so Tony uses some of his nano-tech to repair her and that's why he's down to only having his helmet. He records several messages, and eventually his final message for Pepper. You could then cut to Carol hanging out with the Skrulls she rescued in her last movie. They are talking about the snap and Skrulls that were dusted. Carol says she has to leave because she received an emergency signal from her pager and she believes it may have something to do with the snap. Before she leaves, the skrulls tell her that they stumbled across another signal from a ship in distress. She says she doesn't have time to look into it because she needs to get to earth. They tell her that she needs to hear the signal. She listens and hears Stark's voice talking about how they failed to stop Thanos, then she flies off. She rescues Tony and Nebula and brings them to earth. The rest of the stuff happens, but instead of killing Thanos 5 seconds in, have him be on the run and no one knows where he is. The next five years is spent dealing with the repercusions of the snap and Carol searching the galaxy to try to find a lead on Thanos, while Rocket is using his tech to do his own search. Then Scott shows up at their doorstep and meets with Nat and Cap. He tells them about his time travel theories and they go to Tony and he still refuses initially. I know they had to go the time travel route to give us a version of Loki for the new series. However, I'd rather Tony had figured out the navigation and they'd tried time travel but failed in each case. Cap couldn't get the septer from Hydra. Loki steals the tesseract. The Ancient One says no and that's that. Quill gets the jump on Rhodey and Nebula, and he flies off with the orb. Nat and Clint are unwilling to kill each other and the Red Skull says that self-sacrifice won't work (the person has to BE sacrificed). As for Tony and Cap, I'd take out that part where there were just extra PP's waiting at the army base. Tony and Cap would just already have an extra Pym Particle vial to travel back to the 70's and still get home, but they arrive after the tesseract has been moved to an undisclosed location and have to go back to the present. And young Thor stops Rocket from getting to Jane while present day Fat Thor is chatting with his mom. But before they leave empty-handed, Thor summons his hammer, (apolgizing to his younger self with something like, "I'm gonna need this.") and he and Rocket go back to the present. They could still have some of the same emotional arcs (Thor with his mom. Tony with his dad. Cap glimpsing Peggy), but failing to get any stones from the past and being out of Pym Particles would force them to deal with the real Thanos in the present and finding a way to get the original stones back. The only thing they get from the past is some emotional closure and Mjolnir. Back in the present, they get word from Carol that she knows where the stones are. Rhodey says that he's suprised she didn't try to get them herself. She says that Thanos has hidden the stones in different locations, guarded by different factions of his armies. The minute she went after one, Thanos would have been alerted and the rest of the stones would have been lost. They have to get all six stones by hitting all six locations at once in a coordinated attack, before Thanos can get wind of their plans. Carol says that in order to do that, she needed a "team", and that would be a callback to the earlier part of the movie where they told her that the avengers usually work as a team. The "heist" would be going to each location and retreiving the stones without getting caught. After splitting up into teams, they all manage to get the stones back. After losing his stone to Thor and Valkyrie, one of the generals sends Thanos a message that the stones have been stolen. The heroes perform the snap to bring everyone back, just as Thanos and his armies arrive on earth. Then the rest of the movie plays out with a few changes. The attack on the Avengers HQ happens, but instead of having Ant-Man rescue Hulk for the "Assemble" scene, we see Banner seemingly drown. After the portals open and the battle begins, everything happens as it did in the film, except there's no Hulk. But Banner's not dead. Imagine the chills when Thanos is about to finish someone off and he hears a roar from off-screen and he gets a worried look on his face because he remembers that roar, but something's different. Suddenly, Hulk bursts out of the rubble, but it's not Professor Hulk. It's WorldWar Hulk. He lets out another hellacious roar and causes everyone on the battlefield to pause. We see Hulk soaring through the air, and he lands on Thanos, giving him a savage beating unlike anything we've seen Hulk do previously. Then before he can finish Thanos, Hulk gets swarmed by a thousand minions and Thanos manages to scurry away, only to find himself face to face with a pissed off Wanda, eyes glowing red with anger. Thanos DOES recognize her and remembers how powerful she is and he shows a hint of fear. Wanda goes in with her powers like she did in the movie, almost tearing him apart, and just like in the movie, Thanos calls out "Rain fire!" Carol destroys the ship and Cap tells her "they could use an assist." At that point Tony talks to Strange, he asks if they are still on the right path to the "one way" because they tried going to the past and that didn't work, and Strange answers, "It wasn't supposed to work.". letting Tony know that they still have a chance to win, but Strange still can't tell him how they win. We can still have the "girl power" moment when the women come together, but instead of them "helping" Carol, they help Peter, who's battered but still carrying the gauntlet and trying to get to the van. The point is not to get the stones to the past, but to get them to Scott so he can hide them in the quantamverse where Thanos can't get to them. Carol takes on Thanos and the rest clear out the goons for Peter. Thanos struggles with Carol, and she gets attacked by more goons, then Thanos hurls his weapon and blows up the van before Peter can get to it. Peter is down. The gauntlet was blasted off in another direction and Thanos spots it. Hulk is still battling a swarm of goons. Strange and his sorcerers are still battling. BP, Scott, Rhodey, Falcon and Clint are clearing a path for Pepper to "Rescue" Nat and Peter and administer first aid. Now we go into the final battle with Thanos, Carol, Steve, Thor and Tony, but instead of Tony stealing the stones from Thanos, Nebula is the one that runs up to him after all the other heroes are down. She grabs his arm and sneakily uses the nano-tech Tony shared with her to steal the stones. Thanos does his empty guantlet snap and nothing happens. He turns to Nebula and she's powering up with the stones moving into position on her robotic hand. She's the one that snaps Thanos and his minions away, with him being shocked that it was her, the daughter he abused and hated that defeated him. Now this alternate verson doesn't have Nat or Tony dying, so if you still want Tony, Steve and Nat to be out of the picture because the actors are leaving the MCU, just have them seriously injured in the battle. Maybe Nat's in the hospital, (She took a hit during the "rain fire" sequence after shielding/saving Clint). Tony's in a wheelchair and Cap's hobbling on one leg with his arm in a sling. That way, we get to see what 10 years of the MCU has done to these characters. They've given all they had and at the end, they don't have anything left to give. They aren't indestructable like Hulk and Thor. At the end of the movie, Thor is preparing to take his hammer back to his younger self. After Thor is sent away, Cap then asks Tony for a favor, and we see Tony and Professor Hulk Banner give each other a look and they both nod. agreeing to send Steve back into the past. Before he goes, Cap leaves the shield with Sam and tells him to hold on to it for him. Cap still gets his little bullshit dance with Peggy, but it's not a healthy Cap abandoning earth in the aftermath of the unsnappening when billions of returned people are sending earth into another crisis. It's a hobbled, crippled Cap who doesn't have any fight left. A hero who's earned his leave. Maybe Nat is in a coma and Yelena still blames Clint for that, so we can still have that stupid Hawkeye plotline. We still get Thanos, but the Thanos we deserve and we don't have to spend half the movie arguing over time travel logic. The only loose end is Gamora, but we can solve that with an end credit scene of her being trapped in Soul World inside the Soul Stone. In the next Guardians movie, Quill and the Guardians are searching for Adam Warlock, the only person who can release her.

Even before I started this video, I will say that I've been following Time-Travel Science Fiction literally since I was 5 years old. Every franchise has to establish its particular rules for time-travel & how it effects history. Infinity War had THE worst time travel rules I've scene since that Godzilla movie from the 90s.
When a movie creates a plot hole so big they have to create a whole show to explain it (aka loki) then it's not a good movie... Which is ironic because loki made endgame even more confusing 🤣🤣🤣
@@PeterGriffin11 I'm pretty sure that was the point that Pogchee was making. I think he was basically saying that any movie will be considered good as long as it has the Marvel logo on it, even if the movie is actually bad.
My only problem with this movie is what they did to hulk like all im gonna say picture the hulk in the movie "Incredible Hulk" fighting Thanos in infinity war Edit: And what the hell did they do to my boy Thor like he went from being Zeus in Infinity War, to a lazy alcoholic
Also, is it me or the final battle looks lifeless? Upon rewatch I only saw gray people in a gray battlefield with the occasional light beam. There is no way to tell who is where or what is going on.
You know the funniest thing about them claiming they talked to actual physicists to make sure the time travel made sense? There is more than one theory regarding time travel out there. In fact, there are several. Multiple scientists over the years have developed theories for how time travel would work if we somehow created it. So did they look at all the theories and choose their favorite or the least popular or what? Cause I’ve watched a lot of time travel in my life and heard a lot of time travel theories but I’ve never seen or heard anything regarding time travel the way it’s depicted in this film.
It’s Many-Worlds Theory (Multiverse). It’s the theory that, mostly notably, Stephen Hawking subscribed to and has always been the method most prominently used in Marvel Comics as it negates many issues such as the grand father paradox. Dragon Ball Z also uses this theory.
The closest I've found from any reputable physicist is that time travel is possible, but ONLY from the moment that the time machine is made. So once they had made their time machine, they could wait and use it to the instant that the time machine had been created.
Correct me if im wrong but i read somewhere (i forgot but trust) that infinity stones cant be destroyed and they are literally reduced to atoms but they still there and are retrievable
I had a feeling of being underwhelmed after finishing endgame. So many characters I liked either becoming dead or boring just to bring the world back to square one and kill a less interesting version of a guy they already killed. It's not like they couldn't have spent another year or two buffing themselves up to the point they could just go back in time, stomp Thanos, take the infinity stones and then return to their own time and fix everything.
The superior film is infinity war but still cant get over the fact they put hulk in the trailer but he was in a hulk buster suit throughout then smart hulk in endgame R.I.P HULK 1962-2018
Nice to see this. I hated Endgame. I get that it's supposed to be fan service but it failed at that on every level for me because of the treatment of my favorites and the contrived plot elements. Thor was treated with zero respect and his struggles were played for laughs the entire movie. Hulk's entire character arc was resolved off-screen. The time travel "rules" were broken before the movie even ended... Why is Thanos without the gauntlet or any stones a tougher opponent than a 6 stone Thanos was in infinity war? How can Thor with stormbreaker overpower a fully gemmed 6 infinity stone Thanos, but Thor with Stormbreaker and Mjolnir gets btfo'ed by zero stone Thanos? The power levels are all over the place. I dont even care about the mcu going forward and endgame even makes infinity war feel worse simply because it leads to this trash...
Well i didnt liked the movie though your point where u say thanos is thougher I respectfully disagree with u First ofall Thanos in infinity war was only for the stones and he didnt wanted to kill every single life But the thanos from past wanted to kill everyone Well i might be wrong

I'm surprised you just didn't point out that they could have gone to where Thanos was right before he destroyed the stones. Could have gotten them all right then and there. No one would have needed to die and they could have gotten their fight with Thanos. Obviously there's tons of plot holes (like Steve somehow returning to the present without a time machine even though he lived in a different timeline!) but that doesn't make it a bad movie. It's embarrassing how many self proclaimed internet "critics" fail to understand this 🤦. It's a comic book movie. It's main purpose is to entertain which it does. It wrapped up character arcs and felt like a great ending to the saga. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but audience scores show it did its job. I actually think killing Thanos was the logical move for the story. No sense in him keeping the stones around therefore no use keeping Thanos around as there was no more conflict between him and the heroes. He won.
Well, wouldn't going after Thanos with all of the stones just have led to the same defeat as before? I agree with everything else you had to say though
I was willing to hear you out. But when you said no consequences. I couldn't help but yell Tony is dead. Second, not everyone knows where the most convenient time to get certain stones from movies they weren't in. That's why it's only places we have seen before. Also, the Thanos in Infinity War is DONE. he has no more character development for him to go through so it makes sense to write him out. And the most poetic way to do this is by Thor listening to his advice and going for the head. One more thing. Thanos did not reverse engineer the time juice. He simply applied it to his ship, bringing everything and everyone with him. And while it isn't the cleanest story. Avengers Infinity War is better. It isn't bad by any means. This is a love letter to people like me who love most, not all, but most MCU projects, and it does it so well.
@@zeeyadb77 I agree. The Thanos we had should've been the villian they fought at the end. Wanda: "You took everything from me." Thanos: "I don't even know who you are." That part was pretty funny though.
5 worst things in endgame: 1) a stupid rat is responsible for starting all the events to save the world 2) killing your main villian at the start of the movie 3) time travel cheapens everything that happened in infinity war. they essentially used a gta cheat code to win. 4) tony figures out time travel in a day lol 5) hulk is now a little bitch
Dishonourable mentions: 6) Thor is fat and whiny 7) The dialogue and vocal tone are all cheesy, Thor, Stark, Rhodes in particular 8) Captain Marvel used in smaller portion of scenes 9) That boozy song played when Tony calls Thor Lebowski and called Rocket Ratchet 10) the way Tony’s daughter says “s**t”
Infinity War is where it's at.
Nah, I say the first and second one
@ASTROTHUNDER lol from a logical critical standpoint, Endgame is trash.
Infinity wars was dope, ultron was aight, and the other anvengers movies well they sucked. The solo movies were pretty good though for the most part.
@ASTROTHUNDER I found the first one awesome and Ultron to be shit but to each their own.
ABSOLUTELY
I honestly thought they were going to complete Thanos's character arc in Endgame instead of reverting him back to a moustache twirling baddie. I think it would have been completely doable if Thanos used the timestone to visit futures to see if the universe "balanced" itself after his intervention, and since life always finds a way, he realizes his efforts are futile.
Exactly...such a sad Endgame 😥
His motivations made sense in the comments because of his infatuation with Lady Death and her goals but not so much in this
good idea. woulda added to the weight if he sorta gave up or yielded after tony died still maybe good idea tho
And these movies ignoring those types of questions is why you'll never shake the feeling you are just watching a movie for kids.
yea they really skipped over SO many things during those 5 years, and how chaotic the world actually would have been with half the population randomly coming back.. i mean imagine you were in a hotel taking a shower, then you got dusted back in the shower.. but some other guests was in the shower. there is just so many scenerios about the snap bringing everyone back that were never talked about
There’s a thing i don’t see a lot of people talking about, this movie KILLED Hulk.
And in infinity war, there's a deleted scene that explains the hulk banner fusion, yet they decided to say "let's roll with whatever"
They killed Hulk in Infinity War if we're being honest
Ruining hulk and Thor.
A smart person with hulks strength would absolutely be insane
What we got though 💀
Well to me, it was just to humor the film, not meant to be a forever standpoint for both Hulk and Bruce Banner.
If you go back in time and change things and it creates an alternate timeline, then Captain America would have lived his life in an alternate timeline. Because he clearly changes the timeline.
Don't forget that if time travel works the way it does in every other movie, this means Cap boned his niece which is fucking disgusting

The problem is the time travel. I can think of a billion scenarios that would’ve made things easier or reasons that make things harder for the characters.
Just out of curiosity, what’s one of your ideas?
Yo stop ducking and tell us
@@intheclear3492 I know I'm not the op, but what I would've done is somehow make it so that the dead characters' souls were trapped in the soul stone.
Just wait and build galactus up for phase 6)
So what do y’all think?
@@MasterCombatant I love this idea for sure, I don't think Endgame needed the climactic final fight scene, although it did look cool, it was mostly for fanservice.
The thing that made me not like Endgame is simply just how predictable it was. I remember leaving the theater after Infinity War saying “I hope they don’t go the easy route and just travel through time to get the stones and change what happens” but no, they couldn’t be any lazier. I was really anticipating something crazy that no one could really think of like perhaps going to where the stones originated from?
When Thanos "used the stones to destroy the stones", the stones weren't removed out of that reality but instead were simply atomised so the stones are technically still there (just not obtainable). This is different from what the ancient one was talking about which was "removing" them.

@@cardmaster8772 to me it seemed like a copout. Thanos killed and tortured all his children and now he's saying he actually loved one of them?
@@slashercat8649 It was always mentioned that Thanos cares about Gamora the most. And its believable that Thanos is capable of love, even though his version is a bit more harsh than what humans are used to. He raised Gamora as an assassin, because he knows dangers of the universe and wanted her to be safe. Sure, he is still abusive, but that doesnt negate the fact that he loves her.
Pretty sure they’re not really “replaced.”
The death could've been way more fleshed out....they just had Thanos throw her off the cliff like a doll or something.🙄 Thanos should've dangled her from the cliff having one last brief conversation.

Here were some of my problems with the film (some are the same as yours):
- Thanos dies in first 10 mins
- The infinity stones cannot actually be destroyed otherwise the universe would be destroyed
- Tony figures out time travel in one night
- Hulk is essentially dead as we see no sign of his old personality, just his body, with Bruce's mind. No Hulk development, fights, etc. No redemption.
- Black widow and Hawkeye love each other all of sudden? And the most important thing in the universe is each other / their own lives? Didn't get that part at all.
- Big group female battlefield moment
- Iron man saying "i am iron man" instead of "we are the avengers" or something along those lines since it's not Iron Man 4
- Captain America seamlessly just uses the power of Thor better than Thor himself
2:00 FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES WITH ME...this movie would have been way better if they had to find a better way to beat Thanos with all the stones.
I am literally so glad this video exists. Every major movie review channel has videos about how incredible Endgame is.
You speak for me this annoyed me so much
Thor from IW to EG was such a downgrade, I couldnt believe it.
ruined hulk as well
@@pocketjocket1904 Hulk a mighty beast turned to a coward, as a hulk fan this was the reason i didnt like Endgame
14:35 it doesn’t work bringing them back because they are not the same person, it’s an alternative version from another universe, the person doesn’t get back
Thank you for explaining this so I don’t have to. Some of his critiques are valid, but that one isn’t.
It does tho because they are still the same timeline
Also when Cap returns the stone, doesn't he just create another alternate timeline in which that timelines now has 2 of each stone or did he create 6 more timelines it just makes no sense

I hate quoting memes, but:
“Endgame writers, you had ONE job!”
And it uses that logic on the HEROES, no less.)
And let me ask you another question.

I love how in everyother timeline they failed. But in literally every other universe they did it like it was nothing

GREAT VIDEO! love your critiques, and I agree.
Please consider also:
1.There is NO WAY to "return" the freakin' Soul Stone. What do you do, call Red Skull and say, "hey, you can stick this back up your butt or whatever, we done."
(and they did NOT need to sacrifice Natasha OR Clint.
6. Infinity War has a bunch of stupid crap too, but the most RIDICULOUS and glaring is when Black Widow, hardened lifelong pro assassin, walking weapon who coldly murdered human unenhanced soldiers on the Lumerian Star in Cap' Winter Soldier, actually says to the giant Blue Murder Girl Alien creature: "We don't want to kill you, but we will."
That is the single most unforgivable piece of feces that the Russos ever inflicted on a paying moviegoer.
Peace out.
I ain't reading all that 💀
You forgot to mention one very stupid moment about the stones, in the first Guardians of the Galaxy only one purple stone could be used to immediately destroy the fucking planet but in Infinity war thanos fights with Iron Man, Spider man, Doctor Strange, using 2 stones, he could eliminate them for a milisecond if the stones worked the same way as in previous movies

Lol i think you didnt listen carefully what hulk said about time travel
Hulk nebula scott and rhodes talked about time travel lol watch the movie again
Wanda goes in with her powers like she did in the movie, almost tearing him apart, and just like in the movie, Thanos calls out "Rain fire!" Carol destroys the ship and Cap tells her "they could use an assist."
At that point Tony talks to Strange, he asks if they are still on the right path to the "one way" because they tried going to the past and that didn't work, and Strange answers, "It wasn't supposed to work.". letting Tony know that they still have a chance to win, but Strange still can't tell him how they win.
In the next Guardians movie, Quill and the Guardians are searching for Adam Warlock, the only person who can release her.

this is probably the longest comment i've ever read
Even before I started this video, I will say that I've been following Time-Travel Science Fiction literally since I was 5 years old. Every franchise has to establish its particular rules for time-travel & how it effects history.
Infinity War had THE worst time travel rules I've scene since that Godzilla movie from the 90s.
I disliked the time travel thing and Killing Thanos. Nailed it.
When a movie creates a plot hole so big they have to create a whole show to explain it (aka loki) then it's not a good movie...
Which is ironic because loki made endgame even more confusing 🤣🤣🤣
Loki wasnt made to fix endgame. It was made to introduce the multiverse more in depth
How to make a movie "gOoD": Slap the marvel studios logo on the poster
That doesn't make a movie good it just highly increases the chances of the movie being a success.
@@PeterGriffin11 That´s why there´s "gOoD" and not good in Gabriel´s comment.
@@PeterGriffin11 I'm pretty sure that was the point that Pogchee was making.
I think he was basically saying that any movie will be considered good as long as it has the Marvel logo on it, even if the movie is actually bad.

I remember watching this movie over and over and over again trying to figure out why people were so obsessed about this movie
Good movie but too much overhyped
Me too repeatedly watched to see what is good in that movie to earn 3 billion dollars, but I was very big fan of this series that time but then too😂😂
My only problem with this movie is what they did to hulk like all im gonna say picture the hulk in the movie "Incredible Hulk" fighting Thanos in infinity war
Edit: And what the hell did they do to my boy Thor like he went from being Zeus in Infinity War, to a lazy alcoholic
don't forget his trauma being a unfunny joke
You forgot the mortal Avengers, somehow, surviving a Missile storm from Thanos' ship. AND, being STILL able to fight!
Sometimes I forget of they're mortal
like, they show the explosion and that shit would level a city and they’re all fine
It was really bad.
Yep

@@Doragonrenja but old Captain America, so it's not the same as in DBZ
The closest I've found from any reputable physicist is that time travel is possible, but ONLY from the moment that the time machine is made. So once they had made their time machine, they could wait and use it to the instant that the time machine had been created.
Correct me if im wrong but i read somewhere (i forgot but trust) that infinity stones cant be destroyed and they are literally reduced to atoms but they still there and are retrievable
Captain age so slow because he has a healing factor he was still supposed to be young at the end of Endgame.
I loved this movie... but there were so many problems 😂😂😂😂😂... Infinity War was so much better

The superior film is infinity war but still cant get over the fact they put hulk in the trailer but he was in a hulk buster suit throughout then smart hulk in endgame R.I.P HULK 1962-2018
For me Endgame is the end of the MCU. It's all getting too contrived and stupid.
That's retarded
@Olanna Momah right
Nice to see this.
Well i didnt liked the movie though your point where u say thanos is thougher

Thanos in infinity war was only for the stones and he didnt wanted to kill every single life

This should have been called “everything wrong with Avengers Endgame in just over 20 minutes”
Why did Nebula go back to where her younger self was?

I agree. The Thanos we had should've been the villian they fought at the end.
Wanda: "You took everything from me."
Thanos: "I don't even know who you are."
That part was pretty funny though.
She didn't
5 worst things in endgame:
1) a stupid rat is responsible for starting all the events to save the world
2) killing your main villian at the start of the movie
3) time travel cheapens everything that happened in infinity war. they essentially used a gta cheat code to win.
4) tony figures out time travel in a day lol
5) hulk is now a little bitch
Dishonourable mentions:
6) Thor is fat and whiny
7) The dialogue and vocal tone are all cheesy, Thor, Stark, Rhodes in particular
8) Captain Marvel used in smaller portion of scenes
9) That boozy song played when Tony calls Thor Lebowski and called Rocket Ratchet
10) the way Tony’s daughter says “s**t”
thanos never got “rid” of the stones he reduced them to atoms, they are still in the universe, just not tangible
Damn
yeah doctor strange do some magic stuff boom the stones are back end of movie.
