I might be dumb... how do I make the black square...
I'd like to know as well!
make a square canvas, drag and drop black from the color picker to fill area, then use transform to make it smaller while retaining its square aspect!
@VisualTimmy thanks man. Idk what it is about the iPad lol every time I pick it up I go full smooth 🧠 😅
I'm like this in every tablet application. I guess I'm so used to the robustness and sensory overload of desktop applications the streamline UI of tablet apps throw me off. Somehow I get lost in the simplicity of it 🤣
This is a good tutorial to make a good style on procreate, thank you bro, make more. Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
Gracias!
Omgsh THATS been my problem with the pixel brushes I made!! They always color too many squares! Thank you!!!

Appreciate the subscription! Glad you like my videos :D
Amazing tutorial but i cant figure out how to get a perfect square to fill? Whenever i use the quick shape i get weid artefacts around the egde of the square?
Could be issues with too small of a shape source. Try making it larger or use a full white square for the shape source. The tutorial shows the brush settings I like to use, but I often don't use quick shape in pixel art. Try that!
Thank you! It’s a great tutorial!
Glad you like it!
This video should have a lot more likes and views… it’s a really great tutorial! ❤❤❤

Great vid, thank you so much

This seems useful outside of pixel art!
Use it however suits you! Lots of good tips in here :)
How did you make it into a square??????
Make what into a square?
@@VisualTimmyI think he means in the shape editor, I’m confused too 😅
Thank you for this!!
Happy to help!
so helpful 😍 thank you so much
No problem :D
Hi, when i draw I’m getting partially transparent squares surrounding the pixels I draw. Any help?
Make your Brush shape source larger or smaller. You can also change the brush setting to be 100% minimum opacity!
Is there a way to double the size of the canvas and still be able to draw pixel perfect images? I doubled the size of the canvas and it tends to bleed out onto other pixels
That issue would be based on the size of the pixel brush. You would need to use a small brush size and zoom it to get it to work properly. Then you'll need to rescale your grid and be sure it still matches 1:1 with the canvas pixels. I tend to resize my artwork after, or start with a larger pixel canvas to begin with!
This is an awesome tutorial! Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Could you clarify the size of the black square at 3:20? 😊
it doesn't matter too much, some people like it to be a full black square, I like somewhere around 60% the size of the full square. Try different sizes and see what works best for you!
W video
Great video! but I have one question, when I use a reference on these much smaller canvases the image looks super blurry, do you know of a way to fix this?
It’s going to resemble the reference to match the canvas quality. Try using the built in reference window or go split screen !
I have the same issue
when i use my pixel brush its not opaque and I have to run over it several times
:(
go into brush settings and change the "minimum opacity" to 100%. If that doesn't work for you, then try using a larger shape source for the brush!
❤❤❤❤❤
is it possible to use this as sprites within Godot?
Yes!
Why is my square hollow? The shape I added was a black box like u did
Tap on your shape source and 'tap once with 2 fingers' this will invert the shape. The square should be white once the file is in the shape source.
Hiya I did this but when I resized it in a new bigger canvas and clicked nearest neighbour it muddied up the colours and added in more colour tones that I didn’t draw in, I checked that the colour profile was the same, do you know what went wrong? Thanks
Ah it’s because I saved as jpeg not png, thanks for the video
Glad you figured it out :)
aww man i did the same exact thing and my colors are still doing that :( i
Mines doesn’t work, it’s opacity is weird and looks like a really zoomed in line :/ any idea what I did wrong?
hmmm, please elaborate. It could be the size of your brush shape source is too small. not sure, I'd need more info to help!
@@VisualTimmy oh! I found out, it was my canvas size, ty for the tutorial ✨
Hii i have a doubt. When i Paint with the brush i can only do It in vertical and horizontal but no in diagonal. How can i fix this
do you have drawing assist turned on the layer? open the layer menu and check for that. tap on the thumbnail of the layer and turn off drawing assist, that may be why
