hi hun, thank you so much :) yes, I'd say it would. I'd recommend rolling the fondant out thick though as to not accidentally cut the fondant with the pressure and reveal the frosting underneath. The twine would need to be wrapped around as soon as the fondant is applied for best results. No need to refrigerate either, once the indentation of the twine it applied, you can remove the twine immediately. Happy decorating!
I wanna do this design for an upcoming competition in college but the problem is I have to use fondant , so is there a way I can make the same string effect on fondant and can you suggest it for me 😊😊
hi hun! I use buttercream for this and add lots of black gel food colour :) you can also use dark chocolate ganache and tint it black with gel food colour.
The string is a butchers twine, you can get it at alot of places just give it a quick google to find it close to you. And the gold is just a luster dust, I got mine from amazon

No offense but most of your cakes look so unappetizing with those thick layers and only buttercream filling(talking only about taste here. Designs are astonishing!) which always made me wonder do you do that on purpose because it makes it more stable and easier to decorate?
