When Max Dillon said to somebody “hey you remembered my name” it was because it’s hard for some people to remember every coworkers’ names, but Max is brilliant, also an expert on modifying the genetics of electric eels for electricity generation of the city.
I really feel bad for Max. He was a good person who looked up to Spider-Man and all he ever wanted was to be acknowledged by someone and his boss treated him very badly. Even though he was evil when he turned into Electro, you can’t help but feel kind of bad for the guy.
Even in the original comics, he wasn't an all-bad person, just unfortunate to have been in his position and left for dead. Not even acknowledged that he died, forgotten. That pain and fury is understandable
I seriously don’t get why people hate on this movie, this is one of the best origin stories for a villain, and personally, one of my fav Spider-Man villains, especially since anyone who’s been mistreated by a lot of people, can relate to this guy

Some villains are evil just to be evil like The Joker, the Green Goblin side of Norman Osborn is evil just to be evil and even Electro from the comics who wore the green and yellow suit, I always depicted as “haha, I got electric powers, I’m gonna electrify the whole city and shut down all power and then everyone will know me! I always looked at comic book Electro as being evil just to be evil but in this movie, it’s the very same idea, Electro wanting to shut down the power to the city and everyone will be able to see him but I love how more in depth this is and his reasoning behind it that drove him to become what he is
Honestly they've should've focused on this dude as Spiderman's enemy. Felt like because they crammed so many other things into the film by the 3rd act they ran out of time to give him a proper resolution but at least NWH gave us that.
It's really surreal how everyone ignores and despises him, even his own mother did it. Besides the fact that his plans were stolen for hours of work. Max is definitely a villain that was created and I feel bad for him, he sought help but no one gave him a chance.

It's surreal because they keep playing lame quirky music every time we see him, a little more silence as he's at home talking to himself would have showcased his loneliness better, pull the laugh track from Everybody Loves Raymond and it is the darkest show on television
@jinjo3100 the music for me tells more of the story than the movie. It went through his development. If there was none the development of the music to the classic electro theme would have been jarring.

The scene where Spider-Man interacts with Max felt like something Spider-Man would do. Although this movie isn’t the greatest, it’s still pretty good and scenes like this make me love Spider-Man so much

I think the people were the ones who did this, the guy that Max called didn’t shut it down because it was part of the plan, Max was always bullied by his coworkers, the plan was make max fall in a tank of electric eels and experiment him, they didn’t let him in the elevator and didn’t it turn off because it was the plan, and it worked, sometime later Harry freed him, those coworkers didn’t just bullied him and tried to kill him, they also betrayed him and experimented on him.
Interesting theory, but I doubt this was actually part of Oscorp's plan. The whole sequence of events leading to his transformation was just too (bad)luck-based, and Oscorp ends up scrambling to conceal the whole thing because of how it'll affect their stock price. The truth is simply that Max was a really, really unlucky guy with an incredibly unfortunate life.
I agree with max 100%. The guy was basically invisible to everyone and had no respect given to him. His bosses treated him badly and stole his work and didn't give him any credit. He thought spiderman would help him but basically just fucked him over. This is what happens when u finally let go and stop giving a fuck.
I feel bad for max but at least now he has his body back and he doesn’t have powers so maybe he could go back being a normal person again that’s if they don’t put him in prison for what he did

When the other guy refused to cut the power, Max should hsve refused to do it. It's a dangerous situation to fix power lines with current flowing. So he would have been well within his rights to refuse unsafe work.

I’ll be happy to answer your question, although Electro’s suit in NWH Is more colorful and Comic Book Accurate, I do have to say I like the bland Black suit better because it’s so simple and shows how much of Electro is a badass. Whereas, since Jamie Foxx is playing himself in NWH, I gotta say I like Max in TASM2 2014 because that was a character, instead of Jamie Foxx playing himself.

The more I revisit this movie, the more I feel like the movie absolutely fumbled not having Max/Electro be the central focus. A lot of the stuff with Harry could have been saved for another movie. Max was a tragic character who ended up being largely sidelined for another tragic character bc the Goblin is the one that does immense damage to Peter Parker in so many comics.
