    When your AF is running, pull it away from the wall 8 - 12 inches. This will prevent wall heat damage. This instruction was on my Power XL AF manual. LOVE my air fryer!

    It’s best to leave it unplugged when not in use. Some fryers have caught on fire left plugged in.

    There is absolutely a way to get to the correct cook time on this model much faster than the video shows. Although it defaults to 20 minutes I simply long press the up or down arrow. It will go 20-15 - 1 minute in a second. No need for going minute by minute.

    I have a Costco brand and it cleans really easy. I also have from Amazon round parchment paper no holes for the bottom under rack, and round with holes for the top of the rack. Easy cleaning pull out parchment paper and toss and minimal cleaning to the rest of the inside.
    You have to try the round parchment paper. There are a bunch in each package and for things that don't make a big mess I don't use them only for messy things.

    I have one like yours that was gifted to me. I use it often. I’ve successfully dehydrated several types of foods. Celery, bread for bread crumbs, etc. It will hold a pint of mushrooms if layered on bottom and top. When air frying, I spray a light coating of oil in before I put food in and again when I turn food.
    I also noticed you use metal utensils. Be careful doing so as it will wear the non-stick coating off.

    I got Power XL 2qt. for Christmas. I really like and I do not have the issues you are talking about... You are not suppose to use it next to the wall. I make fries from raw potatoes both sweet and white. They are actually very crispy. Even my husband likes it and he is a chef, lol. Also, when that one part get stuck on I let it soak for a few minutes and it comes clean.

    Hold the button down on the timer it will reset to zero then use the up button to add time. You do bot have to click it that many times. I put water & soap in mine while it is still warm. No problem cleaning.

    That Ninja model is meant for 2 people only. Not a 4 person+ family. There are other Ninja AF models which have larger capacity for bigger families. Cleaning your air fryer isn't difficult, soak it in warm soapy water overnight, clean in the morning. Don't scrub with a stainless steel pad else you might damage the non-stick coating. I have the Ninja AF101, your model looks like the AF102. You can also use parchment paper with your Ninja AF or a silicone liner pad inside the AF cooking chamber on top of the crisper tray (available on Amazon.ca) makes clean up easier. Also, helps if you spray the crisper rack after the pre-heat. I always pre-heat my Ninja AF101. Also, leave some distance between the AF and the wall. As for setting the time, you can hold the down arrow on the time, to reach 1 faster than hitting the down arrow multiple times.

      @marcc5768 hi, I was thinking of getting the Ninja af101 also because I read that it is free of PFOA, PTFE and bpa-free! Which is hard to find! In the reviews that I read about it though a lot of people were complaining about it being too loud and not lasting more than a year or two and having a chemical smell for some reason when it's not supposed to contain any chemicals. I was wondering since your post was from a year ago, if you're still happy with your Ninja and if you ever noticed a chemical smell? Also does it have any kind of smoke coming from it when cooking?

    • @marcc5768
      @marcc5768 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@daisyblue7209 I don't have any smell with my af101, maybe cause I clean with baking soda it takes away any cooking smells. I stopped cleaning air fryer basket with dish soap. We've had ours for over 4 years, which btw, we got factory refurbished, wasn't brand new. It only smokes when we do air roasted chicken more than 2 batches. When I know we are cooking multiple batch of chicken (non-battered) I add water under the crisper rack, no more smoke. The smoke you are referring too is when the oil/fat drippings from animal protein at the bottom is starting to burn. Hence why I add water. Others put an old slice of bread for the oil to get absorbed by. As long as you clean up with baking soda, which I soak with hot water from kettle, no lingering smells after. Hope this is useful

    I have dehydrated bananas. Thinly slice them. I put one layer on the very bottom, then set that insert on top of that first layer. Put a 2nd layer of the bananas on the insert. Then mine came with a metal round rack with folding legs. I put that in next and put a 3rd layer of the banana slices. Fit a total of 3 bananas. Dehydrator function takes all day or overnight. Bananas turned into lovely chewy super sweet tasting chips! The dehydrator function is why I purchased the Ninja over others.

    One of our local bargain stores had air fryers several years back and I didn't know anything about them so I was like Meh.... Recently I had a 15% off coupon for a store here called Ollies.. So I bought one for about $35.. I LOVE IT.. I use it several times a week, mostly for fish or chicken. Mine stops when I pull the bowl out, but starts right back up. I also like that it stops automatically when the timer finishes. If I can't get to it right away it won't burn.

    We have the Ninja Air Fryer and we love it. Typically we use it for frozen fries, fresh pork chops, roast, and pieces of chicken. Also, I have made some quality turkey jerky with this as well. I've even bought a jerky gun to use with ground meat. But as you said, due to the "lack of real estate" inside, I'm also looking for aftermarket racks that fit inside

    • @marcc5768
      @marcc5768 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ninja also has larger models available if you need more "real estate" for cooking. Ninja also has 2 models for an air fry oven.

    I am an AF person since I'm alone. I have some suggestions if you don't mind. Get some perforated parchment paper on amazon. It makes clean up SO MUCH EASIER! If you use regular you have to poke holes. But be warned you have to have enough food to keep it from blowing it up and starting a fire. 2nd suggestion is to get a misto bottle or some kind of bottle on amazon or wherever and fill it with avocado oil or grapeseed oil. But aerosol spray cans are a no-no! I was told it can ruin the air fryer. I'm not sure why, but I have heard it in many different places. 3...you have to keep it away from the wall so the air can circulate. It is an AIR fryer. It needs air. You can't suffocate it. 4. when it gets dirty the best way to clean it I found is dawn powerwash. It cleans it up like new. Mine is 2 years old and looks brand new. Enjoy your air fryer.......;)

    I have a different brand. I don't understand why it would be difficult to to wash. I wash my hands after each use put it in my sink with my Stoker's then into my dishwasher, if there's anything that is stuck on I just give it a quick scrub with my scrubby buddy and into the dishwasher goes I never have any stick problem whatsoever. I don't use any non-stick sprays maybe you could try that? Also you can add a little bit of oil to the bottom I see they also sell liners. I'm always wiping mines down but then again I'm just a clean freak. Because I never have oil residue anywhere. Thank you for the video

    I have air fryers like that one but they're different brands. However, I love my Ninja Foodi Grill so much that I rarely use those. You should get rid of that air fryer and get an NFG. A couple more things: (1) If you use oil, spray the food before placing it into the basket, and (2) There is absolutely no need to spray oil on frozen fries.

      They are the same as a small oven. You just cut the time back and the temp. So it doesn't take as long to make things. They are great for reheating food. Better than the microwave. The food is more crispy and not soggy.
