I’ve had this air fryer since Christmas, and it’s the only air fryer I’ve had and used. I use it for two people, sometimes one, so the size suits me fine. When I bought it, I knew very little about AFs. This video has helped me tremendously in understanding how and why it works, and provided me with great tips on using it. This is by far the best informative AF video I’ve watched in the last three months. I’ve seen at least a dozen, if not more. I’ll check out your science of AFs next. Thanks so much!
PS The reheat setting is great. It crisps up leftovers unlike the microwave.

Everything I've cooked in this unit has come out great th-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB ! Everything tastes so good. Some of the recipes I've changed a little to improve the taste. For instance, for french fries which call for no oil, I spray them with olive oil and season them with salt and pepper. They come out great! It makes the best toast I have ever eaten. The recipe I use calls for lightly buttering both sides of the bread. It calls for cooking at 400 degrees for 5 minutes on one side and then 2 minutes on the other side. This time has a lot to do with the kind of bread you are using...so keep an eye on it. Also, the fans in this Ninja are a lot stronger than other air fryers. So lay a metal spoon or something on the bread to keep it from flying around. It's a little extra work to use your Ninja as a toaster but it is worth it!

Im impressed, usualy when i see an ''older'' person make a youtube video, the videos are long, boring, and couldve been shortened. Yours is straight to the point, very informative and i like that you point out the good AND the bads in day to day use. good work

It is funny because personally, videos made by "younger" persons are not my cup of tea. Too much cuts, useless music, irrelevant content, the "wanna be funny but not funny" or " wanna be cute but not cute" factor, fakeness and so on. When i want to invest money in something, a 3 min video centered not on the product but the person is of no interest.

THANK YOU for posting this video! I've spent a huge chunk of my evening trying to research and compare Air Fryers (just looking into them for the first time), and your video has been the first I've seen tonight that was actually highly logical and an excellent product review. There's so much product differentiation on the market, and I needed a good basis to help start comparing features other than just price. I'm definitely going to watch your "Science of Air Fryers" next. Wish I'd found your channel to start with, tonight!

I bought this air fryer and I love it. Cooks very fast. Frozen fries, onion rings cook crispy and tender. It's great for appetizers with out deep frying. Great for warming up food, unlike microwave the foods won't be dried out and rubbery. Great for small space living or downsizing singles or couples. It's a great product.

Well I've had mine for well over a year now and still love it!! Even a co-worker of mine bought one and her kids use it for making their chicken fingers as there is no hot oil to deal with. I like using mine for the reheat option for getting left over pizza slices warmed up. I reheat for 3 mins. Then place maybe two or three pieces in. Run another 3 mins on reheat and it's almost crispy and the toppings are nicely heated up.

I only tried a couple of food items and was pretty impressed. I tried a small handful of sweet potato fries. After about ten minutes at the books prescribed temp. They came out nice and crispy. And the reheat option is a plus!

After watching several reviews, I checked out yours and minute for minute there was more bang for the buck in what you had to say. I got more valuable information in the first three minutes of your video than I sometimes get in an entire ten minutes of someone else's. This review wasn't around when I was shopping for an air fryer, but I actually did buy a Ninja as a gift for my husband. A big part of the decision was the ceramic coating and the one piece basket/crisper tray design.
I was somewhat dubious about air fryer in general, but I love it even more than he does! After 1 year, no chipping or peeling. And it is very easy to clean! I often toss in a batch of veggies, then follow it with fish, still no trouble cleaning. I love mine! I was never a big chicken wing fan, but that has changed! Will have to try your recipe now.
I really need to explore more things to make in it....

I had a power fryer XL that I recently threw in the garbage. When the basket and holder would get hot, it would warp and you could not get the drawer to slide back in after removing it to check your food. It had that fake "copper" coating that seems to be all the rage. Note all of these "copper" non stick products do not have any copper and are basically just spray painted. Everything stuck to the basket. Trying to clean it led to the "copper" coating coming off. Power Fry refused to stand behind their junk. Said they know about the warping basket when hot and I should wait 3-4 minutes to reinsert the drawer. They know about the copper coating being non-durable and that is why they now sell just the basket alone. I look forward to my Ninja one coming in soon.

    • @dieselrigs1

    • @kjwins5421
      @kjwins5421 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Exactly my complaints, especially the 'fake copper' coating, excessive sticking chipping, and PFXL people not standing behind their product. I refuse t buy a new basket, only to have the same problem. The Ninja AF is ceramic, so I am hoping it holds up better, plus we no longer need the big capacity.

Great video. I received my Ninja AF161 Max XL Air Fryer yesterday and today tried the HARD-COOKED EGGS from your "Every Day Easy Air Fryer: 100 Recipes Bursting with Flavor" cookbook. As you wrote, even better than using an Instant Pot. Better results and easier clean up. I did have some brown specks on my eggs. I guess I needed to wipe down the heating element after cooking bacon wrapped chicken legs.

That was the type of review I was looking for. Very helpful to determine if I’ll buy one or not. I think I’ll pass...it looks great for a meal for 2 or 3 people, but my family is 8 people...it’s doesn’t look like you can get much in there. I’d have do several batches to feed my large family, which would actually increase the total cook time...I’m better of continuing to use my oven.

Charleen I think you made a very wise choice, well not so long ago ,my older bro said to me ,eh why not get yourself a air fryer(TV advert) ,mmm, well ya know ,when i was married and then a long time 24+7 carer to old ma "you name it I made it on the basic conventional oven, old fashioned cooking, with added help from pressure cooker,,and as I am now 64 live on my own and now have health problems ,its now more or less 'convenience food" microwave" well today I had tray of mince ,sausage etc which had to be cooked today,,and really decision what to make,, preparation, cleaning etc I just thought, nah you could do it" but can't anymore,"and when I was tempted of certain new products on the market,a case of "You must have this" I thought nah its one of those things that you buy"then ends up in back of the cupboard,i watch Russian cooking videos,a back to basics and they are wonderful " best wishes Charleen" to you and your family

At 2.49 totally agree with you about the design of the pan. I have 2 airfryers a 4l and a 6.5l. The larger one has slots on the pan starting less than half inch up. Just the slightest amount of oil will cause spills as you pull the pan out. The instructions suggest use aluminium foil as a kind of bowl for the food. Not much point of the slots then!

I live by myself so this size works perfect for me as I don't have that much to cook. The dehydrator mode is such an excellent added feature as I was looking at getting a dehydrator as well. Now I can combine 2 appliances in one. Thank you so much!

Stack the food all you want, just rotate the pieces of food every 25% of cooking time. I have this, use it weekly, most recipes are 20-25 minutes for frozen foods when air frying.

I am so glad I found this review. An air fryer is a single persons or a students way to go. I looked at a few but what sold me here is the dehydration option, I have an older dehydrator but it's just too big for my need, I dehydrate parsley green onion etc.. I just don't want to run it when all I want is a bunch not bulk produce 5 bunches to have to store and go stale. I don't want to bad mouth a product but few years ago I had a sad experience with an air fryer, it was the ActiFry, because of the spinner it was best used for fries, or if you had food coated or breaded ie chicken nuggets or chicken wings it worked great at stripping the coating.

I've just got this today it's to work with my ninja dual zone you can't beat the quality of ninja ! I made a mistake with a casori hated it the bin wouldn't go in or out without a fight it's now redundant ! It also stunk of plastic upon heating it up several x and affected my cats and myself .I even tried it in my garage it stunk that out too ! ..awful doesn't describe it ....a bad buy! I need this 100 to do small roast joints really as the dual zone fails in that respect ! I have this in the corner and it can just slide out to be used....its like ninja city in my kitchen the oven well it's redundant and it was brand new ! Great video thankyou...!
