If you're interested in some other ways to season salmon, I would recommend red curry paste! It has a ton of flavour, so spreading a tbsp or two on top (depending on the size of the piece you're working with) of the fish and then cooking in in the oven is lovely.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate that you have kept up your cooking channel. Truly it is excellent. I am old (65) and was never taught to cook. It has been an uphill battle as I don't seem to have any innate skill whatsoever. However in the past 20 years it has slowly started improving. And actually my sons and spouse think I am not a bad cook at all now. I love channels like yours because you tell us all the things that help make you a better cook. You have taken so much of the frustration out of it. I have recommended your channel to both my sons as well. Thank you again.
My parents always religiously removed the skin from salmon whenever we ate it. It absolutely blew my mind when you popped a piece of salmon into your mouth with the skin ON. I always figured that they were so careful to remove it because it was bad for you! A quick google search proved that idea wrong! Thank you for unintentionally teaching me that it's safe to eat salmon skin! XD

Dark Soy Sauce is worth picking up. It's very different from regular soy sauce. It adds a depth to recipes much like brown sugar does for some baked goods over regular white. You know it's there and miss it when you leave it out.

Oikos has this limited edition vanilla chai latte yogurt and if you use that even the dough is flavourful. It's soooooo good. I make them every week.
When you said you never had mozzarella sticks in an air fryer it blew my mind because I bought a air fryer because of your videos but sadly for the first year only used it for mozzarella sticks. But I made 2 batches a week for a whole year and I think it's better in the air fryer than fried in oil. Soo good! Keep up the good work!
I made the soy sauce chicken recipe tonight and it. was. FANTASTIC. I was skeptical that such a short ingredient list could be anything more than just "okay" or "good," and boy was I proven wrong. I followed your lead and made my own 5-spice powder, which I thought also made a huge difference in flavor. Thanks for the video!
So I learned something interesting recently. Dark soy is actually less salty and sweeter than regular. Tamari counts as dark, shoyu would be light. I typically keep only tamari in the house, but have lamented how much milder is than the Kikkoman I grew up with. Now I know why.
Tamari is not dark soy sauce. Dark soy sauce is sweater and less salty than soy sauce like you said but it's also thicker and doesn't taste at all like tamari. A better approximation would be like low sodium soy sauce mixed with molasses.
@@tori03031989 It's not light for flavor and dark for colour. Dark and normal soy sauce are very different in flavors and dark soy sauce is not used for colour. It would be more apt to say dark for sweet/savory, normal for salty.

I tried the salmon one before seeing this, and I was surprised how amazing it was and fast with no mess. Also as a side note, never use sprat oil from the supermarket in the air fryer, I saw a lot of videos saying by time this could affect the coating
@@henriquematias1986 The spray ones have an ingredient that affects the coating, so the best way is to use normal oil or if you want to spray it, there is an oil sprayer on amazon very cheap one, you get it and fill it with normal oil and use it.

Its fucking teflon you dont need oil. Another reason why airfrayers are not a good idea. High temps and teflon =bad. Just get some nice stainless or cast iron pans and learn how to use them. Airfryers are a gimmick.
I tried the mozzarella sticks yesterday and they came out perfect. Also going to try the chicken thighs right now . I marinated them yesterday so I'm going to cook them today.
He probably used baked Cheetos because they had LESS oil in them, ie. he wanted to get em as close to panko as possible. That way the outside can be crispy and dry, and he can control frying oil a little more
I've done mozzarella sticks in the air fryer. It works really well. I've found that you should put them at the hottest temperature for less time if you want them to be nice and crispy, but not leaking cheese.

I just got my air fryer, a cosori and one of the things you don't want to do is put parchment paper on top of anything that is in there, the airflow will blow it right into the heating element and can cause a fire, if you need to use parchment paper, put whatever you are cooking on top of the parchment paper to hold it in place.

The instant I saw the salmon, I knew I had to try making it. 10/10 did not dissapoint. Easy to make, tasty and juicy. Definitely do 10 minutes, not 15.
Seriously heres a tip for better. Normal oven or fan forced. turn on oven to 180c while preparing this. get some nice salt ie smoked sea salt, and decent pepper. sprinkle it all over the salmon top bottom sides. But a tiny bit of butter on the skin side of each piece and place it onto an oven tray. skin side up. You can use baking paper, or if no paper lightly oil the tray with butter. Not much just a little to make the tray slippery. place salmon onto paper skin side up. put in the heated oven (180c for 12 to15 mins for the average size like his,) watch it around the 10 min mark thru the glass, when it starts to brown on the skin take it out of the oven. You should have a perfectly cooked piece of salmon with crispy skin perfect coloured flesh and not dried out and over cooked like an air fryer does.
Tried the Air fried salmon the way you did it in your video, and hot dog that’s salmon is good. Got to make to give the salmon a good coat of Dijon mustard followed by a good coat of old bay. Probably be making this in my house quite often.

This makes me want to share my buttermilk pancake recipe... No sugar but great flavor, easy and only 6 ingredients. Also, you can get cultured buttermilk and keep adding milk to it when you get low to keep making more. 🙂 1 cup flour I cup buttermilk (or a bit more at a time depending on desired thickness of pancake) 2 eggs 2 tablespoons melted butter 1 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda Add any desired fruit. Blueberries are obviously great but blackberries are delicious! Use real maple syrup! Make bacon too so you can cook up your cakes in bacon fat. 😉 Try this recipe, you can thank me later.

Tried the first recipe, and it's truly a winner. It's super crispy, really moist (15 minutes at 375 was perfect for me with smaller chicken thighs like you) and I didn't even have all of the ingredients! My garlic went bad so I used powder, and I didn't have the ginger (I think it'll taste better with the ginger though, so I'll try it) alongside not having the dark soy sauce.
Jesus Christ, is your inner mouth fire resistant? I gotta let everything chill for at least 5 mins before munching, but he's just gobbling down Lava like there's no tomorrow.
The crispy soy chicken does look amazing! Having to de-bone the thighs does take away a lot of that quick-and-easy feel of most of these air fryer recipes, though. Ayyy, I use a very similar pancake recipe (IIRC that larger amount of baking powder and full 1/4 cup of sugar is uncommon), except I use the decorative line on the bowl that I use for the liquid ingredients to measure how much milk I add. 😂 But given my electric griddle cooks 8 at once, the air fryer would be even slower, which rather defeats the purpose. The salmon one is interesting...I usually cook it as little as possible (just until flaky) in the oven, and then fry up the salmon skin afterward. Not sure I'll like it that well done, but it definitely looks good and is less work than what I do! I just imagined making all sorts of different mozzy sticks using different chips...Cool Ranch Doritos, dill pickle chips, maybe some jalapeno chips. Even though it got the fewest views, that might be the one I try first!
When testing whether recipes and methods “work” should you not use the same ingredients and methods as in the original? Alternate ingredients, different equipment(lack of pie-pans for example), skipping steps in the original, and making changes to fit your workflow removes any accuracy of your results. Entertaining content, however not accurate in execution - not much different than the channels you are investigating. If you are testing someone’s method and recipes, you have to test their method and recipe.
@@Ontherunzl1 between ingredient changes, changes in methodology, and other evident changes these aren’t tests, they alternate versions. Can’t test something by changing it.

I’m going to buy an air fryer tomorrow. My busy, efficient, foodie friends tell me it’s life changing. And I trust you to take my hand for this journey. Your sourdough bread. Your condiments. Always.
you can get a tiny cast iron pan that will fit the air fryer, pre heat the cast iron in the air fryer first, then do the pancakes one at a time in the cast iron pan/air fryer bin
Purpose of the air fryer...to make preparing food easier and faster, anything I have to use a separate machine for and dirty more dishes is not going to make it in my routine. Soy chicken and crispy salmon, yes, pancakes, just use a silicone donut mold, if you have a six pack one just cut it down to 4, cooks up nicely and makes a pretty presentation.
It's obvious the tiktok pancakes are fake. The parchment paper still looks brand new. We all know parchment paper gets a little toasted and curly in the air fryer. Thanks for testing these! I'm new to the channel but now I'm hooked. ❤️

@@anna-louisepowell3489 No, not at all! Especially if you wash the air fryer, immediately after. Fish esp salmon, should NEVER smell overly "fishy"!
"But, it has to work!" Thank you for calling out these viral videos and seeing if they really are worth it! Great tip about oily chips for cheese sticks.
You could most likely prep the Mozz Sticks and just keep them in the freezer till you need them.
Big brain.
Tiffy’s chicken always looks so good! And salmon is one of our faves.
I tried the salmon one before seeing this, and I was surprised how amazing it was and fast with no mess. Also as a side note, never use sprat oil from the supermarket in the air fryer, I saw a lot of videos saying by time this could affect the coating
what should be spraid instead?
@@henriquematias1986 The spray ones have an ingredient that affects the coating, so the best way is to use normal oil or if you want to spray it, there is an oil sprayer on amazon very cheap one, you get it and fill it with normal oil and use it.
Do you find the air fryer makes everything else smell/taste like salmon after for days though?
@@anna-louisepowell3489 Not at all most of the time I wash it after the salmon and smell goes right away with no issues and i use it for other things and never had the taste of salmon in them.
That way the outside can be crispy and dry, and he can control frying oil a little more
Yeah, most definitely NOT keto 😂😂
Yeah, he's not keto, just generally macro conscious. His youtube channel is targeted towards fitness.
he used it bc its lower calorie
I've done mozzarella sticks in the air fryer. It works really well. I've found that you should put them at the hottest temperature for less time if you want them to be nice and crispy, but not leaking cheese.
I really like this entire format if you will. I hope you keep doing the series...not just with Tik-Tok but would be fun to see you put your spin on say celebs recipes. 🔥🔥🔥
I just got my air fryer, a cosori and one of the things you don't want to do is put parchment paper on top of anything that is in there, the airflow will blow it right into the heating element and can cause a fire, if you need to use parchment paper, put whatever you are cooking on top of the parchment paper to hold it in place.
Those mozzarella sticks honestly looked delicious
Bro those look like there gonna give you the most mean diarrhea like your shitting out lava you have to be restrained to the toilet seat to prevent you from falling over and spraying doo doo everywhere the smell of that blast of a river of brown is going to cause a evacuation of the whole state your turd is going to be declared a illegal substance is 39 countries your gonna need your legs amputated as they go nun permanently the muscle in your legs will just die the after burn after your jet of number 2 you booty is going to be replaced with the most deepest darkest pit of hell the sun is about to be over thrown by the amount of heat from the spew of poo
Omg! Chickies and Pete’s crab legs and fries are the best!!! Get the American cheese dip it is just heaven!
If your salmon goes burnt like his, its well past cooked right.
The pancakes were absolutely hilarious, had the best time watching this video thanks so much 😂😂😅
Tried the Air fried salmon the way you did it in your video, and hot dog that’s salmon is good. Got to make to give the salmon a good coat of Dijon mustard followed by a good coat of old bay. Probably be making this in my house quite often.
Thank you for trying out the pancakes. That is exactly how I pictured it going in my head!😂
Recipes that actually worked:
1:00 Crispy Soy Chicken Thighs
13:20 Dijon Salmon
17:20 Flaming Hot Cheetos Mozzarella Sticks
Just bought a Cosori Airfryer two months ago. Great invention!
And this is the first time, that I find Oil-Spray usefull.
Mike, I'd like to see the same recipes done in a Breville countertop convection toaster oven.
you missed the most vital thing with the pancakes, the aluminium plate in the bottom.. it changes heat distribution in the airfryer
Have you tried it?
Well, the Air Fryer Pancake Guy succeeded in getting tons of people to TRY to make pancakes in the air fryer… Now that’s what I call an INFLUENCER 😆
😂
The chicken thighs recipe is a god send coming off an 8 hour shift. 1 hour meal that feels super luxurious
I only use mine for frozen food, but after seeing that dijon old bay salmon I'm feeling like buying a filet just so I can try that one out
Works great for defrosted fillets too!
instant like for the "would you just look at it!" Ed Bassmaster reference. Love your content. Keep it up. Congrats on the new digs. Super excited to see what you do with the big kitchen and home garden.
This makes me want to share my buttermilk pancake recipe... No sugar but great flavor, easy and only 6 ingredients. Also, you can get cultured buttermilk and keep adding milk to it when you get low to keep making more. 🙂
1 cup flour
I cup buttermilk (or a bit more at a time depending on desired thickness of pancake)
2 eggs
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
Add any desired fruit. Blueberries are obviously great but blackberries are delicious! Use real maple syrup!
Make bacon too so you can cook up your cakes in bacon fat. 😉 Try this recipe, you can thank me later.
Must always be real maple syrup. Nothing comes close.
The Ed Bassmtaster reference warms this old internet og's heart.
"I'm gonna follow these TikTok recipes" (Changes every recipe)
Didn’t even bother getting all of the right ingredients either
I change it a bit if I don’t have everything. Sometimes you have to if you can’t afford to go out and get everything
he doesn't do it on purpose like, intentionally changes it bc he thinks it'd be better, he changes it bc he doesn't have all the exact same ingredients on hand or the exact same airfryers the tiktok creators have, so on he improvises. that's kinda the entire philosophy of his channel, improvise your way around the kitchen to be a better cook 🤷🏽♂️. Also that salmon recipe, he just had the salmon in a different direction & followed it closely to ty he original recipe so, idk why you're salty
I just bought the NEW NINJA double basket on both side air fryer & lovin it ..u can make veggies with one & meat or main course in another..gonna make some more
I think its because your airfryer square, having a round fryer helps "shape" the pancake, + the baking tin :)
As someone who comes from “australia” i would like to apologise for the pancake man’s absolutely heinous Australian accent
So there’s more that’s fake about him than just his recipes? 🤦🏻♀️
Yeah the pancake one is absolutely fake
I’m sincerely curious, does someone know his point? To do fake bs recipes for the sake of going viral?
@@jimmurphy9904 There are entire channels that do fake shit for views.
I just found this channel, don't know how it took this long because I love watching cooking videos especially practical ones I can actually see me making. I will definitely be binge watching this channel for a while
Me: pshh too many ingredients
Mike: Tiffy’s marinade is so simple
Me: lol
This was fun to watch, as are all of your cooking videos--I always learn something! But I was a little confused when you were holding up the bottle of San-J Tamari and talking about adding molasses to the marinade!
I tried the salmon today. Turned out really good. That was the first time I've ate the skin.
Do you find the air fryer makes everything else smell/taste like salmon after for days though?
@@anna-louisepowell3489 I didn't have any problems.
Omg this is my favorite videos that you post!!!! I loved your previous one and this one!!! I’d love for you to make this a series!
The most impressive part of this video is how clean your air fryer is
Are they a pain to clean?
i just bought the NEW NINJA double basket on both side air fryer & lovin it ..u can make veggies with one & meat or main course in another..gonna make some more
I'm sure you saw it, but they recalled the Cosori airfries for wiring issues. Great video!
"Why no rice cooker?"
~You know damn well who said this
Tried the first recipe, and it's truly a winner.
We watched the episode about the salmon a few months ago. We tweaked the recipe a little with soy sauce and honey. OMG it turned out great!
Deboned thighs are widely available (in the UK certainly)
I agree with the mozzarella sticks, they do look scrumptious!
I make the chicken all the time using boneless skinless chicken thighs and its incredible. I don't trim off any fat so they still get pretty crispy.
I use the pancake battery in individual pie tins and my kids love them. They work out thick and fluffy and cooked all the way through
Why do people share recipes that don't work when there are plenty of awesome ones that do? I just don't understand!
For likes and follows. I find it to be as deceptive as hell and will un-follow those that practice it.
I am loving halved air fried potatoes, talk about simplicity.
18:50 "He used the baked ones because I think he was keto"
No. No kind of chip like that would ever be keto. Baked or fried.
"Even if it's fake, that's still great marketing!"
This is now the world we live in....
now?
@@SpecShadow over inflated claims. We get bombarded how everything is "ultra, super, mega, etc.."
Yes, it's exactly what marketing is. Fakery made to make a product appealing
I watch just for the flamin hot cheese sticks 🤗
You’re missing key ingredients

Ni hao no
Thank u 🙏🏻 I don’t have an air fryer. Now buying one is my priority. Loved the chicken thigh recipe.
He didn’t change any major ingredients that would have any drastic effects
@@Ontherunzl1 between ingredient changes, changes in methodology, and other evident changes these aren’t tests, they alternate versions. Can’t test something by changing it.
Yum! Everything looks great besides the pancakes. I literally bought the stuff to do air fryer pancakes yesterday and was going to make them tomorrow morning! I am SO glad I watched this video. I'm getting the stuff for salmon tonight so I can make it for my husband and 2 boys!
Whoa! Have been a long time fan of yours and just now coming back and seeing the upgrade in camera gear. What are you using these days? Awesome content, never stop.
Iv been cooking for about 10yrs now and I was skeptical about air fryers, but let me say it is a revelation. The reason is for somebody that doesn’t cook. This is a great tool and might make you feel like a chef. Enjoy… I know I do.
the mozzarella stick one cracked me up cause we make our mozzarella sticks *exclusively* in the air fryer so i knew off the bat *of course they're gonna hold up*
The crispy soy chicken and flaming hot mozza sticks were a huge success. We're going to try the mozza sticks with Takis next.
Me and my brother got our mom an air fryer for Mother’s Day and oh man. We all use that thing. One of our best investments ever id say
I’m going to buy an air fryer tomorrow. My busy, efficient, foodie friends tell me it’s life changing. And I trust you to take my hand for this journey. Your sourdough bread. Your condiments. Always.
Your jaw literally dropped when you broke that mozzarella stick haha
3:48 there was a little fella walking across your board trying to get some of that good chicken
After spending hours watching your videos I broke down and ordered the Cosori Turbo from your link....thanks for the videos
you can get a tiny cast iron pan that will fit the air fryer, pre heat the cast iron in the air fryer first, then do the pancakes one at a time in the cast iron pan/air fryer bin
Easy salmon is season and put in a cold oven set to 400 F, 20 mins and done perfectly!
