Another tweak to Real’s tactics was benzema remaining as central and high up as possible to pose more of a goal threat and reduce his tendency to drift to the left to be involved in build-up play. This change was done to best conserve his physical abilities given that it’s ramadan month and also taking into consideration his advanced age at 36. With camavinga inverting and combining with vinicius, there was no need for benzema to drop to the left like he usually does to build up play as they will do it for him. His focus is to finish chances.
And vini+cama link up and then rodrygo free roaming and his capability to carry the ball on the right just made ot easier for karim

This was literally arrogant from Xavi. His tactics highlighted that he was playing the occasion and this translated into his players being too emotional to chase the ball. Why have 6 players attacking the opposition box with a 3-1 out of possession virtually leaving an aged and immobile busquets against agile and balanced Real Madrid attackers. If you rewatch the game or the highlights, you'll see this leading to madrid's 1st goal
Xavi played right into madrid's hand and deservedly got blown out of the park with his unnecessarily aggressive approach of man marking and attempted high press despite a 1 nil lead in the game. This game required a semblance of pragmatism given that de Jong was out as well, but yet still his inexperienced showed big time today. He has so much more to learn
I hope xavi do learn from this season’s matches against bayern,Madrid,inter,united and next season he rectify these mistakes that he made. Barca need more players especially a trustworthy winger who can perform consistently. If messi comes then it’s cherry on the top.

it was Rodrygo on RW and Cama s performance on LB was the difference from last elclassico. if Rodrygo wasn't playing mean most of those counter could have been carried only by Benz and vini and which could have been easily defended. since it was 3 on counter they couldn't manage the load

In short, Real's wingers didn't track-back. Araújo can't attack, he mainly plays right-back to defend against Vinícius so this also means that Vini can stay up. It was a gamble to let Balde attack freely on the left but his decision making wasn't great. This is how the front 3 of Real came up against only 2 players in the counter-attack. P.S. Barca has become a dirty team, 21 fouls against Real's 8.
You can't even call Barcelona's attack an actual attack because with dembele out, they don't currently have any winger that can beat defenders on 1v1 level. Raphinha can't beat defenders on 1v1 situations and they don't have a proper left winger . Honestly speaking it's a miracle Barcelona are even winning games. Xavi's tactics is very good, but it's vulnerabilities are exposed by high attacking teams
No excuses man, Real were really good. Ancelotti made changes and beat us on all aspects, yes I know fellow fans would argue that we had injuries. That is true, but we could not even register any goal, our attach seemed toothless, kessie tried things but had no support, Lewa felt like he was stranded on an island. Someone needs to tell Rafinha he is not a dribbling threat. I always defended Roberto but man when there are 4 open options and he still passes back it infuriates me. We could have played better.

I will probably sound mad, but I think Barça could have won this game had the first half gone differently. They were miles better than madrid and madrid looked lost. Had that hand ball been called, or lewy’s shot gone in preventing madrid’s first goal, this would have been a very different outcome. There is something still shaky with Barca. I think their dominance in LaLiga is a bit lucky (especially when looking at xG and xGA), but when judging them in big games outside Spain, against Inter, Bayern and United their defensive line and midfielders seem to have problems tracking back, partly because of Xavi's tactics, but also because of themselves, I think. Also when he doesn't have 2 wingers it seems that Lewa's productivity declines, and while Gavi is great all over the pitch, as a winger (on attack) and a RM o defense he doesn't seem like his best version.
For next season I think they really need a true CDM, another CB, and another option on the wings as Démbélé is always on and off due to injuries.

I think it goes down to the weakend barcelona line up with all the missing players due to injury. It is however not as bad as it may seem to barcelona but a blessing in diguise look at it as more of a wakeup call to barcelona and how terrible their squad depth actually is. They need good medfilders and a right and left wing players. But all and all they are on the right way as they have performed very well in the last 3 el classicos.
