Update, it’s been 2 years. No more crashes.
Just make sure you clean your PS5 regularly. The dust will clog of the air intake.
I've cleaned mine...and it's still crashing I've done all the little tips and tricks but nothing seems to work.
Played for less then a hr before work and it shut off.
So basically I have a $500 paper weight that I can only play for a few minutes.😢
You're a life saver man. Kept finding these vids that would do nothing, like changing settings and blah, blah, blah. But changing it from vertical to horizontal, a little quick clean clean and......perfect.
@@digthathole5521setting it up horizontal really helped with yours ? Mine is vertical rn and keeps shutting off idk if i need to do the same or change my settings like that one video
@@joerrelsaguin4550 I haven't had a problem since. All I did was take the side cases off which is extremely easy. Cleaned the dust out of the ridges, put the console horizontal and no more problems. Mine was so bad that it would overheat just trying to start a game.
@@digthathole5521 copy that ! Thanks for replying! Yeah last time a few months ago I cleaned it up but put it back vertically and it was fine for a bit until it started shutting off again. I'll try cleaning it again and putting It horizontal like yours. By any chance did you try out this guy's method ? th-cam.com/video/xPcm3v7s0cs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qRE_UC7Ktb-yzfym
It's weird that it only overheats with ps5 games.. I can play ps4 games all day and it won't shut off.
It's the liquid metal you need to replace it... I know I struggled for months wondering why I can play ps4 games all day, but once I put in a ps5 game my whole system crashes, but since I got my ps5 fixed I haven't had problem with it at all.
@@theunspokenone6562 how did u fix it?
@@mar-yc4mp I had this problem. The only way i think is to blow it out with a very strong air tool from like an auto shop. It fixed it for me, but if it doesn’t work for ps5 games you most likely have a damaged unit.

There is no way it’s that simple man, I’ve literally tried everything, and all I had to do was turn it on its side.. none the less thanks to this man
That was all you did bro? I just brought a used ps5 and it just happened to me 🤕
@@joseescobar5703 yeah literally, it might take some time tho within a week mine wasn’t doing it but also I had a fan on the back of it , I think it’s an issue with the liquid metal leaking or something like that
@joseescobar5703 turn it on its side clean it and put a little fan on the back of it
You have the same theory as me about the past overheating, but I never tried moving it until I watched your video. I tried everything, and your idea was the only one that worked. Thank you
I meant PS5 overheating, not past

@@Dorian_Barber i took my ps5 away from the side of my tv and laid it down in front of me and it still went off so i left it for about 15 minutes and it stayed on for about 8 hours after i turned it on i had my windows open and i thought maybe there wasnt enough cold air coming through my windows and i couldnt feel much myself but later i could feel more cold air coming through the windows so i think the hot air is actually going out my windows and i have my bedroom door open aswell to help extra cold air to come through thanks for this ill have to c how it goes today im playing red dead redemption 2 right now so weill have to c what happens when i play gta v later

Ok finally after about 5 days of searching up multiple videos (this included) I’ve finally fixed my overheating issue. If your like me and tried all of the clean the fan, change the hdmi setting or give the fan some space and all of that didn’t work please try this. You MUST clean fan and the heatsink and the power supply once again you MUST. If your like me you don’t want to risk removing everything to get the that point of the ps5. All I did was remove the fan and I was able to see the heat sink further down the ps5. So I grab some paper, folded it u til it was able to squeeze in there and got some good dust out I didn’t know was there.
Also if you have a vacuum cleaner I 100% suggest u use it to clean the heatsink and power supply. I don’t have a vacuum so I went with what I had. I hope this helps
exactly i did the same thing i opened mine up and the problem was the power supply was clogged, after i cleaned all the hot air was coming out the back, and i'm keeping it horizontal because the guy is right it helps with ventilation better than vertical

Can you give me an update on this comment
@@DirtyLilRezKid you shit crashing to?
Mine literally was laying down while I was playing God of War ragnarok and it’s been crashing for two straight days
Sony needs to increase fan speed or let the ps5’s handle it themselves, because they all run at max 22% PWN when it’s hot, but everyone’s situation is different, especially where each persons console is located, might need higher fan speeds to compensate for the heat.
how do you a higher fan speed?
It certainly worked for me. Been hard-core gaming for 7 hours without any crashing. Even put in a new hdmi cord in. Thank you so much.
Man I just pulled mine out of the box brand new today and when I try to play modern warfare 2 MP it’s says it’s overheated and shuts it self off it’s brand new it’s never even had time to collect dust
I love that you went partially into the science of why it works with the fans. Makes total sense. Plus having more surface area it can release more heat easier, and the heat will rise leaving it to stay a bit cooler.
I was trying to play fifa and it kept on crashing mid game because I kept it behind my monitor. Now I have it how you suggestted and it works like a dream so thank you so much my friend.👍
Thank you I literally had like 6 crashes in a row until I watched this video thanks it has helped a lot so far zero crashes
Does it work for you?
Did it stop permanently?
2 MONTH UPDATE‼️ No more crashes. I believe the problem was Dust Clogging just passed the Fan where you can’t see. USE A WHOLE CAN OF COMPRESSED AIR‼️ For real use the whole can and air it out really good, blow it deep in the fan area and some balls of dust came flying out my PS5.
Definitely getting some compressed air tomorrow. These ransom shut offs ain’t.
Another way to do it is turn the PS5 over and tap the other white panel and dust comes flying out. Just incase you can’t get compressed air
I had the same issue. The reason why the ps5 is randomly shutting off is because it is overheating. The fix is to clean the fan, the dust collectors and the heat sinks(do not unplug the fan because the wires are very very fragile, just put the fan on top of the PlayStation). Flash a flashlight inside the ps and you will definitely see the dust.
You will need:
A toothbrush
A cloth preferably a microfiber cloth
Toothpick
A long very thin stick
Clean the heat sinks and the fan with the toothbrush.
Clean the dusk collector with the toothpick and the long stick. (After you remove the fan look inside and on the bottom right corner you will see some holes those are the dust collectors. Try to remove the clogged dusk from every hole).
This method worked 100% for me and my ps is working fine without any shutdowns.
Thank you sir
Fun fact: you can remove the white top and bottom without any harm to the playstation and use any wipe to remove the dust
Another way to prevent over heating is removing the side panels and just spray compressed air through the fans.
this is why i love underrated youtubers
this is how videos should be straight to the point
I’ve tried everything, I cleaned the fans, took off one of the panels for it to cool down better, I turned it sideways like you did in the video, I even went as far as putting a running mini fan right behind it to cool it off, I have it next to a window so air is always flowing, I turned of the hdmi thing in the settings… I’m fed up I can’t even finish a game of warzone without it shutting off, I don’t know what to do
Me too, did you send it for a repair?
I was having the same problem, I bought mine at launch and it just started happening when Horizon Forbidden West launched... i also noticed that when it turned off, it was really hot on the plates... I openned it, cleaned all the dust from the fans and from the heatpipes (without breaching the warranty seal)... after that, i put it back on my desk, but this time with more space between the back of the ps5 and the wall (around 20cm distance)... it never turned off again... almost 7 months without the issue happening... just posting this because at the time i was having the problem, i couldn't find anyone talking about it with real solutions
I'll try thia
Ok I’ve been having to same problem started Maybe a week ago while I was playing elden ring. I’ve set it on it side of course that didn’t work, I cleaned the fan with compressed air and wasn’t much dust because I clean it very often. Ok the only thing that has seem the work so far was taking the fan out and using a cleaning brush or a old tooth brush some compressed air and a vacuum to clean the Heat sinks. Which were very filthy btw. Hope this helps someone 😊
It’s been three days since I cleaned the heatsinks and I haven’t had a issue yet. If your fan isn’t dirty but it’s still shutting off clean your heatsinks guys!
@@boundbyrage4718 I’m thinking of cleaning my heat sink, how is your PlayStation now? Have you had any issues so far?
@@ShelfOwO nope no issues. Since I’ve cleaned it. There’s also a vent at the bottom of the heatsinks where the disk drive is. If you use a flashlight you can see if that’s clogged also.

Did you use a Can of Compressed Air?
The keyboard cleaner stuff. My PS5 had some chunks of dust come out of the fan area. Try blowing the Fan area a bunch with the Compressed Air.
Might have dust clogging the air path behind the fan.
All except moving from the wall because it requires proper air flow.

Sony should be ashamed with themselves letting these leave the factory and STILL HAVEN'T AKNOWLEDGED THIS.
Did everything to troubleshoot Mines been crashing since I got it July last year.
It used to be every ps5 version of games.
Fortnite
Gta5 enhanced
Ghost of Toshiba
Rollercoaster builder
Only the ps4 versions run for hours.
Cleaned it out.
Put it on its side.

But all the other games still do.
Complete bullshit. Sending Mines back soon. Will update if the same happens.
Try fortnite split screen that seems to be the fastest shut off crash.
Everything else ps5 version is 20 min or less shut off.
Damn man. I’m sorry about your PS5. My hasn’t crashed anymore. I also wanna mention I live near Canada in the Northwest USA and my house is pretty cold.
Do you live where it’s hot? Maybe it’s 80 F degrees inside your house? Idk just a thought. The climate of your room environment is something to take into consideration.
Agree, they should be ashamed of themselves. ps5 yet they can't play ps5 games properly. I do not recommend buying a ps5 to anyone just about to throw mine in the trash where it belongs, i have an xbox series x also and it has never crashed. Been a playstation fan my whole life but ps5 has put an end to that.

@@jjsomarriba1584 yea this shit stupid my grandma bought me a PS5 last year, Fortnite is the game that makes my console shut down, no other games do it, 15-20 mins of Fortnite being opened, the ps5 would shut off, it’s has been happening every time I don’t even play it no more, Fortnite was the game I olay everyday
@@manuelperez6196i found the problem, the consoles are over heating just beacause of a little dust, take the plating off and give it as best of a basic clean as you can. If that don't work you need to take fan out and clean the heat sink. Dust gets between the metal plating in the heat sink acting as unwanted insulation, increasing the systems temperature. And Just so you know, once the fan is taken out it voids warrenty so only do it if you're comfortable in doing so but is easy as. I Havn't had a problem since and it would turn off every ps5 game especially elden ring, hasn't switched off since i done the clean.
th-cam.com/video/07VSIwxOEXE/w-d-xo.html only do up to stage 2. Also, if your console is on the vertical stand change it to horizontal. When they're in the vertical position they practically eat dust. Sony didn't think the design through at all.
Just had it happen to me, laying down side ways. Mid 2k23 game. Only happens playing P5 games, P4 games work perfectly fine
It’s funny that journalist are defending the ps5 trying to claim that putting it vertically doesn’t hurt the console but here we all are saying yes it did
Thanks for this video!! Vanguard kept crashing every 20min when I played campaign. I was finally able to pass the campaign playing over and hour straight. You the man.

The PS5 is a dust collector big time! If you have animals or you're just in a dusty area, I recommend deep cleaning it every month or so. I had this problem too
I also tried every way to avoid overheating and closing at ps5 games. i purchased ps5 fans, i opened it and cleaned it inside, i did the safe mode procedure. The only thing that worked is to turn it horizontal. Thanks for this video saved my life
If this is happening to do you absolutely need to get it repaired or replaced. Sure doing this may fix the problem but your system is still faulty or damaged, because the PS5 is not meant to overheat regardless if its in vertical or horizontal. Matter a fact the PS5 was mainly designed for the vertical position.
Thanks
Appreciate for the help and explaining all the details. I’ve had my PlayStation shut down on me 4 times in one day and I’ve always had my PlayStation laid down.

I’m happy this helped, remember to get a can of compressed air and blow it really deep in the fan area. Some chunks of dust came out of my PS5 and I believe it was blocking the airflow just passed the fan.
@@Dorian_Barber how do you get compressed air because i think you can't get it in England
I am here to also confirm that this method works for me, so if anyone be it a few months from now or even 7 years from now try this if the problem persists.
I think the issue you described the beginning is what's happening or happened to mine. Because I can play PS4 games pretty much all day and nothing would happen. Buuut playing some of my PS5 games for even a few hours would make it spontaneously power off. I assumed it was an overheating issue but when I turned the PS5 on, I never got a heat warning or anything like I did on PS4 so I thought I was crazy.
ATTENTION ATTENTION the reason why this is happening is cause the Power Supply Unit (PSU) is (probably) clogged with dust. Ive cleaned my fan really well and that solved the problem for a little bit but when then a few months later it happened it again. I disassembled my PS5 and cleaned it and now it back to new. I know, for some, it might be scary to open your PS5 like that (not to mention voiding the warranty) but if you're AT ALL comfortable with hardware it will literally solve the problem 100%. I hope someone sees this and it helps!
This is super helpful. Yea I believe it’s dust clogging the PS5 for sure.
Also PS5 WARRANTY is 1 Year.
@@Dorian_Barber right! And so since mine was already expired I felt compelled to do it myself
Thanks for sharing this video bro I have the 1100 series ps5 and I used to get the temperature alert playing certain games with it standing vertical I thought maybe I had a defective ps5 and was about to return it for another one but after watching your video and laying it horizontal the problem was solved just like that I couldn’t believe such a simple fix worked I was racking my brain trying to figure out why this was happening to brand new console thank you
Been dealing with this for like 2 weeks now! Irritating as all heck🙄 at the most random time in the middle of a good game or hectic sequence it completely shuts off!! Thanks for the vid
Same thing happened to me few days ago, i got PS5 at release, didn't clean it at all, so about year and half and it was all dusted inside when i disassemble it, cleaned it and turn it back on and no problem so far...
Happened when i was playing FIFA22 after 1 game which is about 20-30 minutes, played it yesterday for about 6h straight no problem...
The problem was definitely overheating of Power supply (PSU) and ps5 just turns off without overheating warning and wont turn on for 1-2h, when i started it there was no error message or anything like that...
I think there was no warning of overheating because it didn't involve CPU or GPU overheating but the Power unit which has no sensor of heat...
That's my explanation of what happened...
Funny mine did this while playing fifa 22 today and it’s laying down. But still turned off. I think I need to disassemble it and air clean it
I think Sony is being very cagey about talking about crashes, errors or even upping the fan speed. They are hyper paranoid about bad press so we have to work around them, sadly. Mine is basically perfect & dustless but there’s a few games out of a hundred that just crash constantly. It’s so damn annoying
One year later this still helped me out, your a real one dog 💯
Tip : Get a can of Compressed Air. The PS5 fan might look clean from the outside, but deeper inside where you can’t see you might have some dust clog.
So air blow that PS5 deep inside the fan.
Didn’t have compressed air but I had a little vacuum to suck any access dust out and I did a really good clean, I took the fan out cleaned it spotless then cleaned a layer of dust on the upper heat sync closest to the fan. I also blew through the heat sync making sure there was no dust inside and there wasn’t much, if any that came out the back of the ps5. I’m coming to the conclusion that only certain games will shut of it off and only if I’m playing them for a longer duration of time. I’ve been just shutting it off whenever it feels too warm or if go to do anything to keep it more cool and that seems to work so far but still really annoying.
This is 2 years ago and it worked for me put it somewhere it could breath😂thank you man!!
I've started having this issue about two weeks ago when i started playing Elden Ring, first i thought it was the game which it might be but then it happened while playing fortnite and then when playing Tiny Tina's. I've redownloaded Tiny Tina's ps4 version on the ps5 to test it if it's ps5 version of the games or not and to see if i have a hard crash but i looked a bit deeper, then started thinking it might have something to do with the software but still not sure but i do think it's the heatsink overheating due to dust clog but also the PSU could be the issue here. I think the PSU is getting too hot from overheating and causing a handcrash because the vents on that could be dusty as well and it's very large but you have to take the whole system apart to clean those since they're not accessible from just taking off the fan which is the crummy part but if yo7 do manage to clean them just relocate your system and see if that works. I also like to add that i did not give it time to cool down since that wasn't my initial thought and i did unplug from the back and plug it back in to turn it on each time it crashed but now I'm wondering if i gave it an hr to cool off, would it turn back on without me having to unplug it? Idk if it's a safety net to keep it protected which is why it says you turned the system off improperly, it might be progammed to not turn on when it's that hot but when we unlpug it, it resets it. That's my guess so far, since I've switched to playing ps4 games only on the 5 I've had zero crashes.
You make a great analysis. Please update us further here. If you take apart your system and clean it let me know. Tell me how the Heat Sink looks. Thanks man.
@@Dorian_Barber took it apart, cleaned it up ( looked like a dust factory...) and it crashes no more.. it was a combination of the heatsink and the psu overheating, I'm thinking it was more of the psu causing a crash with no warning than the heatsink but the vents we're caked with dust, the temp is now back to normal and no more crashes. Ps5 games work as normal. It was a good amount of dust for a years worth but definitely to be expected because the vents are much larger, allowing more to go in.
it’s happening to , to me and they want me to pay 300 to get it fixed they need to fix this soon
@@aviree7976 just take it apart and clean it. Take off the fan and look inside, I bet all the vents are covered in dust. It will take no effort, just need the torx screw, a plier and an air can. It's definitely an overheating issue.
@@xBlackOutx21 thank u bro
if your ps5 is shutting off and you feel the bottom left side (if ps5 is verticle) or top left side ( if ps5 is horizontal) and it's really hot, then the airvents on the powersupply inside is clogged with dust. and you have to open it up completely and manually remove the dust.
that's what happened to mine i opened it up and it and the airvents from the powerblock was completely clogged, i cleaned it and all the other dust inside the entire console and boom, my ps5 is nice and cool, stopped shutting off, and all the hot air is coming out the back. it takes awhile but it's totally worth it trust me
i used my Ifixit tool kit to open it up - it has literally every screw tip you need to open any console even computer
and an electronic compressed air dust spray
and watched a tutorial on youtube to open it up
Exactly why I came here was to fix it for Elden Ring xD also found cleaning the fan from dust tremendously helps out the console
Bruh same
Mine was overheating too - I had it standing up on the floor (wood, not carpet don't worry!) next to my TV stand. Gave it a blast and cleared out the dust and now have it stood up on a stool, based on what you're saying about the heat being pushed out downwards it was probably suffocating itself with the heat, now it'll be pushing it below the stool so fingers crossed I don't get any more errors.
Hey Dorian, great video. I’m so glad you posted this man. I recently just started having these problems with my ps5 after about a year of having it. It started while I would also play r6 siege, my friends and I would be playing ranked and then boom just shuts off like my power went out or something, I was livid because it would happen over and over again with my new console. I too had my ps5 vertically on the ground next to my monitor. So I am going to try the horizontal style and see if it was also just a simple overheating issue you’ve described.
I hope you fix it. Also get a can of compressed air and blow it really good in the fan area. I had some noticeable size dust clumps come out.

@@Dorian_Barber haha yeah man
Another hint. Air purifier close can keep dust in ur ps5 down to a minimum
This works I’ve been doing this for about 2 weeks thank you man
I think you came out with the real problem. I have two ps5 at home but one shuts down while playing Fortnite the other doesn't. I think it has to do with the liquid metal inside, keeping it standing may create dry spot due to gravity. Those videos asking to rebuild database and other stuffs are just to get views.
Mine did it today for the first time. I got mine close to the end of last year. I have the Dbrand dark plates 2.0 with the mesh grill over the vents. You would think I wouldn’t have an overheating problem with the extra air flow but I think the mesh grills were holding to a lot of dust and clogged up, preventing air from flowing out. IDK for sure but I’ll find out soon haha.
Plz lemme know too
@Nicko Dicko how did it go?
Mine was full of dust when I removed the fan. A Good clean out and better placement solved mine for 6 months.
Thanks man literally I was so scared I broke my ps5 and I also cleaned mine a bit and put it horizontal and it started working well
If laying it down doesn’t work. It’s probably the power supply has dust and dirt in it. You have to take the mother board off to get to the power supply.
yup, this is the ghetto band-aid fix if it's even a fix. You gotta open up the PS5 to get down and dirty into the power supply unit and radiators and get all those dust bunnies off it. that's the true fix.
Hopefully the PS5 Slim doesn't have any of these problems.

I had to move my PlayStation from my office to my room because I thought it was the electricity not getting to my ps5 and it was still turning off in my room
All this time I was in a hot ass room as well not wanting to turn anything on thinking it was the electricity sweating buckets
And this was the answer all along 😂
Appreciate it bro!
Thanks a million this fixed my PlayStation it would constantly turn off when I play fortnite but now it stays on 👍👍👍
Thanks for your comment man. I’m happy this helped. Just Air Blow it once a month with a can of compressed air and you should be safe.
Dude, thank you so much, I did all the first steps and it never worked and I'm glad I clicked on your video becasue you helped me so much with my ps5 now I can play my games in peace!
Unfortunately it's not a overheating issue or dust issue. The system software is bugged and you have to reinstall it using a usb drive. Basically it will restart the ps5 brand new and download the latest software. Worked for me ! Now all my ps5 games are working perfectly fine.
How do u reinstall it

Bro, thank you so much I’ve been struggling with that issue for such a long time
Awesome video thanks a bunch I got my PS5 on release day and this just started happening in the last month over two years I play it everyday watch all my TV through it thanks a bunch for the help
Elden ring is exposing our ps5s man😂 Mine was fine till 90 hours of it.
Every post I've seen during my own research has lead to elden ring being the start. Not blaming the game outright but maybe it being so huge has something to do with it. It's reminding me of what Rdr2 was doing to base ps4s back in the day. Idk
I used to be able to play destiny for eight hours at a time if I wanted to and then one day while I was grinding out some Elden ring, it crashed on me. I rebooted the system and started playing again and then after an hour it crashed again and now I can only play a couple of hours of destiny until it crashes. Definitely did not have any issues with my P5 crashing until I played Elden ring.
I can totally see Ratchet doing the same thing. I'm sure dust could be a factor but ik many people have tried to vacuum theirs and still was having issues until they flipped their console on its side (me included). Also got mine at launch so maybe thats a factor too. This Is having me worried about the average life span of the ps5 however...
Nah I had the PS5 day one and had these issues way back then
I cleaned the console regularly with air spray and as much as I could without taking it apart. The console looked super clean and dust free as far as I could see through, but it was shutting down randomly. I took the console to have the liquid metal changed and cleaned, when he opened it up I was amazed that I could even turn it on as everything was clogged with dust. Problem solved! No more random shutdowns, horizontal or vertical, hdmi device link on or off, rest mode etc. The console barely warms up even after really heavy gaming. TH-cam just has too many "experts" for ps5😀
Are you still getting random shutdowns
@@Nycluigi Not for a couple of months. Works like new. It barely warms up.
@@Nycluigi Without disassembling the console, you cannot clean the power supply, which is completely clogged with dust and causes random shutdowns.
@@rp4all584 where did you exactly took your ps5 to get it fixed
@@rp4all584 it’s crazy how ps5 works it randomly shuts up when playing ps5 games but when playing ps4 games it doesn’t
Just rearranged my setup and placed it horizontally, will update with the results after a week or less!
Edit:
Day one: not a single restart but damn my desk has no space due to that massive PS5 being horizontally placed lol
Day two: not a single restart either, this time I played for 6+ hours and even used rest mode, no shutdown to be seen
Day three: got a bit of compressed air and lightly tried to clean it without taking it apart, I even decided to place it vertically again and not a single restart so far, been playing PS4 and PS5 games, even some PS3 via cloud but those aren’t demanding at all
It's been two weeks and it hasn't restarted or shutdown a single time
I placed it horizontally and vertically and it works great either way, on both PS4 and PS5 games
Cleaning the fans with some compressed air without taking it apart and reinstalling the OS fixed it for me
Things I tried before:
Rebuilding the data base, it did nothing
Using another set of cables, nothing
Disabling one touch play and HDCP, did nothing
Reinstalled the OS via the internet, so far it hasn’t restarted since I did that alongside cleaning it a bit and placing it horizontally, it’s been three days and will update with new info.
What I think is going on:
The PS5 is not overheating because I’ve never gotten a single message of that happening, and PS5 tells you on screen when that’s the case, I’ve never seen that. Some pins of the APU (the PS5’s brain) are getting dislodged with the heat during gaming and that’s why it crashes and won’t turn back on, this was also an issue with PS3 so it doesn’t shock me, it can happen again therefore
However placing it horizontally will reconnect those pins with the help of gravity and heat will resolder them internally, fixing the problem
This has been an issue with many electronics such as the PS3, some MacBooks and my OG Xbox therefore that’s my current theory
Things still good??
@@FTFJohn absolutely
I made sure to reinstall the OS, clean the fan and placed it sideways and it hasn't frozen or shutdown a single time
And I use rest mode 24/7 now
@@aaaaea9268 great. What’s the purpose of rest mode?
I love the way he explained the physics of the air 😮💨

This definitely helped me. Just got my new ps5 and I was a bit worried. Thanks
It did it to me in a rank game 6 times:(
Did this video help you bro? I hope you get to play now without crashes.
Sounds like your advice is working for a lot of people which is good. Personally, when I played Hogwarts Legacy maybe 8 months ago and experienced my system suddenly turning off, I only felt the front of my system near the power button and the disc drive and there was definitely slight overheating. I'm sure the rear of the system was just as warm, at least. Since I had no warranty for my PS5, I took it upon myself to disassemble my system and clean dust that was lodged primarily in the fan and especially in the heatsink. I don't recommend anyone to disassemble their PS5 unless you're experienced enough to work with disassembling consoles and other computers but after clearing the dust, I could sit my PS5 vertically again and play Hogwarts Legacy with no overheating or instant turn-off. Cleaning out the dust from the PS5, depending on where you place your system (meaning the inside of your system will accumulate dust more rapidly depending if it's in an open-spaced area or not) can be something that needs to be performed at least once per year or even twice per year. I don't recommend letting the PS5 just sit in something like a cabinet, though. I see a lot of people online making videos of their console (I'm talking about any modern console now) as it sits in a cabinet and later wonder why the "jet engine" sound happens so quickly.
Thanks man! Here today dealing w this situation and it helped so far appreciate uuu
I tried this today and so far so good been able to run about hr straight no cut off 🎉🎉
So after a day and 3 different gaming time frames this solution has worked for me thanks again man
guys I found the solution to the problem, I removed the cover of the playstion 5 and since then it hasn't turned off anymore, believe me it works 100%
What i would recommend ps5 owners do is turn the air conditioning on when playing your ps5 or buy a usb fan for your ps5. Or Remove the top face plate when playing & put it back when you're done playing. This is to avoid heat from building up inside the ps5
“I’m tryna play Elden Ring” Man 😂😂
man i havent tried yet, but i never enjoyed videos people talking that much, and I dont know whay You makes it satisfying!! haha thankjs man appreciate it !!
Same thing happened to me. I saw your video and my ps5 started working again thank you for the advice.
I've always had the PS5 set horizontally. Never had it overheat. But it does give out some serious heat. I have my controller plugged into the front and my headphones plugged in the back of the PS5. The USB plug for the headphones is right near the heat exhaust coming out of the PS5 and it's hot to the touch, it will burn your fingers if you touch it for more than a second. I don't use Bluetooth for the controller (I keep bluetooth off on the PS5) because those signals are harmful to the human body (same with wifi).
I think your wrong man. PS5 Dualsense controller is wireless connection only, even when connected with wire.
@@Dorian_Barber I'm correct. You can test it yourself. Turn off the bluetooth in the settings. If your controller is plugged in via the USB on the PS5 (how you also charge it) it will work. But unplug it (with the bluetooth turned off) and it will not work (your PS5 will notify you when this happens).
I just downloaded nfs unbound, & in the process of trying to unlock the hellcat the ps5 shuts off… making me lose ALL progress 3 TIMES🤦♂️
Dude I tried all of that too and finally, something that makes sense!!! Thank you for your video......i did this yesterday and not once has my PS5 shut off on me yet.
