Videos like this help us to buy quality Payware and to ignore some reviews of sceneries pumped up by the developers friends! Fell for it yesterday with Barelli Malaga for €21. Total garbage. After complaining to Simmarket, they very kindly gave me a credit for the money spent. Lastly, a big shout out to those developers who provide a decent discount if you had previously purchased the scenery for P3D. RF Scenerybuild only ask €6 euros and Justsim will be at least half price. Keith
The FlyTampa Copenhagen Airport also defiantly deserves spot, I live in Copenhagen and the airport is 1 to 1 replica. Although Orbx has also just released one and I bet it's even better.

Was just about to suggest FT EKCH as well. One of the airports where I truly feel like being there for real when taxiing around the airport. Didn't know Orbx released a EKCH? Or do you maybe think they did because they are selling FT's EKCH in their store?

Thanks. Will check these out. Of my smaller airports, my favourite is Ljubljana by Scenic Routes. I’m a bit biased because I’ve flown there a lot in real life, but the airport is well detailed and the surrounding hills, mountains and countryside so beautiful for landings and departures... all the more so as Slovenia is in the latest World update... but it certainly isn’t a mega-airport, and still a sad RIP to Adria Airways 😢.
Amazing video can definitely agree with a vast majority of these airports having them myself especially LGAV and LXGB. Was surprised EGSS and LEPA was not in there some grate payware airports with amazing detail plus the visuals coming into LEPA are just incredible. Thanks for the video 😊👨✈️✈️
LKPR Prague by Aerosoft/Tailstrike designs.... Very well done, incredible detail also inside the terminals. Much better than ORBX, I purchased both. And yes, I am Czech 🙂
@@Mich8DB The performance in Prague is really good for the airport size (in my opinion). Prague is not that small. The fps in Brussels are much worse, while the airport isn't so much bigger
Only thing I'd say with Toulouse.. very good airport but night lighting needs desperate work! Bristol I love especially the coastal approach! A few other special mentions I think.. Edinburgh as its the OG Pyreegue! MK Studios V2 Dublin Aerosoft Brandenberg It can be a bit hit and miss on performance but inibuilds Heathrow Redwing Sim Geneva
I would place ESSA on this list. The ammount of detail is nice but what I mostly like is the typical scandinavian jetways. FlyTampa ENGM would also be one and (O)Porto just because of the landing over the city.
Flytampa haven't done ENGM - they did EKCH. ENGM was done by Orbx, and there is possibly an even better version being made by Jo Erlend Sund for Aerosoft.
As always Gavin a very informative and interesting video, although there is one thing I must take you to task on, Belfast is not as you have on the banner in the Republic of Ireland it is in fact in Northern Ireland which as far as I am aware is still in the United Kingdom, I know I live there!
I think that the only top airport from MM is Tromso. About Pyreegue, totally agree. I miss ORBX ESSA in that list. And maybe EGBB or EGCC from Macco. And we also miss LKPR from Tailstrike Designs. Also Cuneo from Saviart seems to be a good one, although small.
I agree with many of your choices, but you need at least a Top 15 list so you could include Orbx ESSA, MK-Studios EIDW, Aerosoft EDDH, Aerosoft EDDM, Redwing LSGG, and so on.
ESSA and EIDW are two of worse airports of the entire list, perfomance wise. Bad optimization, which is a shame as i love those locations. I think they waste lots of resources on terminal interiors, which has nothing to do with flight simulation. Same with Orbx ENGM

i own so many payware 🙄. Anyway, usually the quality is way way better. You just dont have the generic feeling you ve got in most asobo airports. You just need to do a quick research to be sure, it might sometimes be better to stick with the original or a freeware. I usually go to flightsimto first when flying to a new place. I check which freeware are available, their ratings and their last update date. I also check wich gsx profile are available, it always gives a good idea of which addon are the best for this airport. And then its up to you to purchase or not. But at least i would advise to always check with freeware are available for this particular airport. And an addon manager is a must have for not loading 100 airports at each msfs start.

So I got the Dublin airport however when I go into it there are no static aircraft it’s just empty, is there a way you can change that or add static aircraft? Thanks

Hi Gavin just to ley you know that traffic does no longer cross the Gibraltar runway a tunnel now runs under the eastern end of the runway only pedestrians and bicycles are allowed to cross when there is no aircraft movements.
I still think the new EGNX by pyregi is better, more modern, better textures and overall details stretching far beyond the actual airport. Good list overall
I bought RDpresets Gibraltar for £16 on the marketplace and it has never worked on My series x or my pc. The terminal is great but the runway is sunk aswel as the surrounding water level making any ships underwater. Cant spawn there either for CTD's.
Hey Gav, quick question; when you are setting up a flight do you load all your add on airports or do you just drop the departing and destination airports in the community folder in an efffort to keep it clean and reduce load times? Also thanks for this, there are a couple of these I have to check out in the near future.
I really wanna get msfs and learn it all! But I'll be starting from ABSOLUTE scratch inc. PC I've added it all up and and I'm looking at £4500 ($5800) That's including £500 ($650) for payware. Does this sound like the cost for a FULL set up?

If you put a payware airport in the community folder but the same airport iexist in Asobo handcrafted version, is there any conflict? In case how we can remove the asobo handcrafted airport?
Through the content manager (not sure if its called exactly that) inside of MSFS. There, just type in the ICAO-code of the airport and uninstall the version from Asobo.

Tell me you only fly airliners without telling me. What a bunch of boring airports with 3 mile long runways and instrument precision approaches (apart from Gibraltar). For people who enjoy looking at the screen while the autopilot is following the magenta line.

Which LEPA do you mean? I think there are two addons

awesome airport but too much heavy on frames for such medium size airport if performance was better definitely a 9-10
