You know I love the series too much to drop it at this point so I will always keep up with ngs news especially from your point of view! Let's hope they clarify on the missing story chapters in the roadmap next livestream.
"Is it like A.I.S.?" "Is it like Dark Blasts?" "Is it like SUV weapons?" SEGA: -> All of the above This incorporates a lot of the best aspects from all these systems. Skill trees like Dark Blasts with some customization and multiple options to create a custom form or possibly have a custom setup for each of the 4 primary weapon options? High mobility like A.I.S. and very free-to-use like SUV weapons compared to the limited uses of Dark Blasts and A.I.S. The closer we get to Line Strike, the more I want to play that. Ordinal Tower floor 7 was very interesting, so very interesting to see what it'll do beyond that point. I think LTQs are basically their version of the leveling quests in base PSO2 that cycle over time. However, I agree, the cycling needs to be shifted toward the more permanent additions, like how Leciel changes per day. Nameless-type quests with more elements that change/randomize per day would be exciting; having the Time Extension quests change location more often and so on. The one LTQ I do like is the Sonic one, but I think it'd be better to limit them to actual events/holidays, not constantly swapping them out. I hope story has some kind of unlisted update after they finally released a solid update to it. Chapter 7 added a lot of things that NGS needed prior to to that point, and this is no time to drag on updates. They need to strike while the iron is hot for once. (I'd also like to see other characters get involved in missions rather than having Aina, Manon and now Pharia all talking with almost the same cadence the whole time. They just don't react all that differently in unknown situations, and I wished someone like Glen or Dozer or Nadereh had been along for the ride instead to get some variety in the tone of dialogue.
It's not only the 100 level cap that's the only writing on the wall about the game ending, there's also the entire story being at a point where they can quite literally end it all in a chapter or two. And the roadmap being as sparse as it is just makes the writing even more clear. Hopefully they have something up their sleeves, but I can't help but feel worried about the game at this point in time.
It's hard to tell what's going to happen at the moment. Remember base PSO2 ended up with a ton of different main villains so we could technically pivot to something else once this current arc is done. Level cap I'm unsure on; the Phantasy Star series has never really stuck to a specific level cap (some use 100, some use 200 etc), so it makes it hard to tell what direction NGS is going in at the moment.
To me it feels like the game is speeding to kill off NGS's story ASAP to rewrite it again with "definitely not vael" in march 2025. Now, what that will be? Who knows. End of service? Maybe. Reboot? Maybe. "Episode 2"? Also maybe. The roadmap just gives too much uncertainty IMO. If their plan is to expand horizontally and re-do loot and content again, then i feel that shouldve been conveyed.
This reminds me of the ArchWing systems in Warframe. Very cool concept though!

I'm hoping they just haven't finalised a date for the story chapter and that this roadmap looks worse than it actually is. Time will tell, I guess!

The Mars system reminds me of meteor from Gangnam City
