In her 14 years of career, she experimented and tested her limits. She reinvented herself with each album. Made her album more like an era. She stepped into 3 different genres- country, pop and now alternative. Taking such big risks fearlessly and making masterpieces. I dont find any reason to not stan her! Its a bliss to be born in the same era as Taylor and listen her music. Stan her forever cause i'm a swiftie for evermore.

Taylor's touched on everything in this song
"Is it romantic how all my elogies eulogize me?" - People saying "she bashes her exes in breakup songs all the time!"
"I'm not cut out for all these cynical clones, these hunters with cellphones" - Addressing the Kimye feud/general haters on the internet
"I've come too far to watch some namedropping sleaze tell me what are my words' worth" - The "worth" of her records before Lover that got owned by Scott and Scooter resulting in a feud
"A red rose grew/ with no one around to tweet it" - Her privacy, and the fact that her personal life is not "up for discussion" means it's all going so well because it's away from the public eye
    Wow, Taylor, wow 👏

As a huge fan of Aaron Dessner of "The National" I had been hearing about Taylor Swift's "Folklore" album for a little while but I had not taken the time to listen to it in its entirety. Just listened to the whole 16 songs and had a great time so I shall buy it. Not having been a long term fan of Taylor I don't have anything to compare this album with. However, I really enjoyed a great many of the tracks. Great lyrics, especially "Peace", "Invisible String", "August" and "Illicit Affairs". Aaron Dessner's fingerprints are all over this album and the tracks he co-wrote can largely be distinguished from those that were written with Jack Antonoff and Justin Vernon. Aaron's influence is particularly noticeable on "The 1", "Cardigan", "Seven", "Hoax", "Invisible String", "Mad Woman" and "Epiphany". You can often hear his influence in just a few keyboard notes. Just listen to "Light Years" the final track of The National's latest album "I Am Easy to Find" and you will hear what I mean. I also loved the Taylor /Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) duet "Exile" track too.The National's trumpet player Kyle Resnick also features on this album as does Aaron's twin brother Bryce. The icing on the cake for me is "The Lakes" bonus track which is written about the Lake District in north west England. It mentions the Romantic Movement poets (Wordsworth, Coleridge) as well as lake Windermere. Such a clever use of Wordsworth as a homograph of "words worth" too. The Lake District is a place that holds many happy memories for me as I used to climb its hills in my teenage years eating Kendal mint cake. Thanks for this wonderful album.

"Is it romantic how all my elegies eulogize me"
*Elegies*- sorrowful poems/ speech (in her case, her songs)
*Eulogize*- praise someone in a speech or writing
Meaning of this entire line- She is saying, isn't it beautiful how all her sad songs (about her and for her) end up embracing who she actually is.

With this song, Taylor has created a mythical realm of melancholy. We all now have some idealized image of "The Lakes" in our minds. We long to go there, wading through flowers and grass up to our knees under a high sun, caressed by a light breeze, bringing the scent of lilacs and memories of a distant love...almost out of reach.

    Here's my opinion :
This track solidifies to the rest of the world what true Swifties have known for years, she is more than a singer shifting through genres , a chart topping name or a record breaking artist etc, she is a true writer /poet / storyteller. Her works might be shared to us through the popular medium of music but her words and stories create true timeless literature.
Also I love that this is the closing track to Folklore because after her mourning the loss of her "stolen lullabies", she realizes her past repertoire could never truly be owned by anyone else regardless of how much money they throw at it, purely because she created for the art of creating and that in itself is priceless.

this is one of my fav songs in Folklore. I can say that it is also a very underrated one. “A Red Rose grew up on some ice frozen ground, with no one around to tweet it” That line claimed that she used to be so present in socmed, tweeting posts and beautiful moments. But in that scenario, she’s living in the moment and just lets her eyes witness that beautiful moment. It also means that she just wants to run away from the life she has here with her muse and just cry out on the windermere peaks as she refers to it as the perfect place to cry. She wants to run away, but she can never escape the life she has here. It will always haunt her because she is Taylor Swift. Despite not being famous, I love how people can relate to this song, including me. The thought that you want to run away from all those things that is bothering you and that our social batteries can be drained too. The song speaks for ourselves. Sometimes, we just want to let it all out and escape social media and everything. She is truly a genius and can make our vocabulary broad than what the school does /j.

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
    A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
    They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
    In such a jocund company:
    I gazed-and gazed-but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
    Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils.
    William Wordsworth

When Taylor says 'I want to watch wisteria grow'
Wisteria is a vine/shrub it symbolises immortality, love, bliss, tenderness sensuality, expanding consciousness...and she says she hasn't moved in years and she wants it to grow under her feet.. as in the place she currently stays that is where she lives in..in the limelight under the horrible world and the internet. She hopes for kindness among the people of the internet era
