+Kes Cholo the faster the particle, the less time the force of the magnet or the force of the plates has to act on the particle to change its velocity. if the magnetic and plate forces are equal in magnitude, they cancel each other out because they are in opposite directions. with a net force of zero on the particle, speed becomes irrelevant
