  • This video covers the use of a Helmholtz coil to deflect an electron beam as JJ Thomson would have done to determine the charge to mass ratio of the electron.

    Hi Paul. Great experiment. The basics of the physic. I wonder is there any way and right equipment to replicate the most successful failure Michelson-Morley experiment?

    what was the math that gave us the ratio? Is there an article I can read on it to better understand the mass?
