You should save the old carpet and use it as templates for the new carpet. It makes everything a lot easier.
I was initially going to do that but the old carpet was so bad, it was coming apart as I pulled it up.

Sweet $300 anchor. Carpet is all huh? Rent a backhoe and dig a big hole in that corn field fill it with water. When it sinks refill hole.
