If you still want a heavy hitter green dial but can't swing for the GS, there's still the Seiko Alpinist. That's the great thing about Seiko, there are many great watches at different price points.
And then if that's too sporty then there's the baby alpinist

I bought my brother Grand Seiko spring drive for his 50th birthday. I was a little shocked by how much more expensive they are than normal seikos but the Finnish and craftsmanship is 2nd to none.

A _watch_ has one function. Literally any watch does the same, one job. A _smartwatch_ does more. Primary function is to tell time, but minimizing the need to interact with your phone for menial tasks like glancing at notifications, skipping songs, declining calls or setting timers is equally important.

Grand Seiko is definitely better quality wise and more accurate but the accuracy differences are negligible, I'd probably get one but for now too expensive for me too

i agree with Pewdiepie. smartwatches look kinda ugly. i get it that some people want these features. but in my opinion. for that price you can get a nice watch that looks better on you and classy. thats not something that you get with a piece of technology like a smartwatch. a classy watch is timeless and doesn't get old for many years to come. i don't own a smartwatch. but i can imagine myself having one and thinking its cool. and after a couple days i get bored of it.

We’d all wear Casios. Casio is amazing for sure, so are Times and Pulsar, but they aren’t near the same mechanical perfection.

@@gold-6680 I am a watch collector with serious intend. With each watch that I want to purchase, I think very long and hard. Each piece must be something I will want to keep forever, it must really speak to me, I have to have a connection with it. Always when I see a watch, I think “is there a different brand that made this style before?” Often times the answer is yes and with that I usually am no longer interested. For instance, I really like the Tudor GMT Pepsi. But I cannot get over the fact that the Rolex GMT Pepsi is the original. I can’t get passed the fact that the Maurice Lacroix Aikon is an homage to the Royal Oak. When I look at a white dial watch, I often think “oh! That’s a nice watch. I want it”. And then I think “but what you actually want is a silver dial Rolex Oyster Perpetual”.
So I often times don’t buy a specific watch because it’s not unique enough to me so to say. Grand Seiko is so far the only brand that has watches that really make me forget about Rolex completely and don’t see a GS as a substitute for a Rolex. I don’t have that with other brands (yet). I’m not saying that GS is my favorite (my favorite is JLC) but I am very positive about GS.

@@gold-6680What's not is a better question? Basically what I wanted for my first grail watch was a really good watch that had great fit and finish and excellent movement that highlights impeccable craftsmanship. Also if possible all that and good for the money. GS has all that and more.

Smart watches are very ugly in my opinion. I used to wear an Apple Watch every day and I just got tired of it. It never did what I wanted it to and it was always doing things that were more annoying than helpful.
He's a big fan of Japan's craftsmanship, who isn't tbh they make high quality everything
And cheap! I got fridge worth $150 but has insanely low power usage, massive storage volume, iceless freezer, whopping 7 Years warranty and already 6 years running nonstop with occasional power outage and NOTHING is wrong so far. It's called AQUA idk what the series are.

If you’re gonna get a GS, the only movement worth wearing is the Spring Drive in my opinion.

My father and I love to collect watches, last week I saw him wearing a very beautiful watch during a big meeting that I never knew he had, he always wears his best watches when he goes in a meeting and he thinks it gives him luck. I asked my dad when did he buy this beauty and he replied it was gifted to him 2 days ago and he hasn't took it off since.
The watch was actually gifted to him by one of our workers' child as my dad helped this worker get the custody from the child welfare by providing him a free apartment. This kid knew that my father loved watch as he had seen him wear different watches to work everyday. And he collected some money to gift my father a Seiko watch (I would give the reference later if I find out the model number) he touched my father's heart cause that kid whose father was having such a hard time collected money by not taking lunch in the canteen and he gifted my father just to thank him😢 such a pure soul.

Grand Seiko makes some of the most beautiful dials you'll ever see on a watch. Better quality than some luxury brands, for 1/3 of the price. And their proprietary Spring Drive movement is probably the most accurate automatic movement ever, combining the accuracy of quartz with automatic mechanism. Get a Grand Seiko. You won't regret it.

If you don't wear what you like you are doing it wrong. I have both Aqua terra and a gray Seiko V158-0aa0 i got for 60 bucks. I wear it because i like it.
