The "orchestrated apathy" strategy is absolutely correct! These owners tank the team and move them while fan interest is at a low point. Another example is the Rams owner Stan Kroenke tanking the Rams in St. Louis before packing up and heading back to LA. Don't give the panhandling billionaire owners one taxpayer penny!
This owner deserves to never sell a single ticket to a baseball game ever again. Honestly this guy deserves to never make a penny off any business venture he’s involved with, ever again.
As an A’s fan, I want to thank the fans of all the other Baseball teams that have had compassion and support for us. Thanks to those of you who don’t blame us for the politics and blatant displays of power and greed that are transpiring, and thanks to those who will remember our rich history and enthusiasm for the game. I’ve heard stories lately from fans of other teams who have had an excellent time with us as rivals and give their condolences, and it’s appreciated to see that our injustice isn’t going unnoticed by the Baseball community that actually cares about the Love of the Game. I hope this is a warning to you guys that the MLB doesn’t care about fans, and will enable rich pieces of shit who don’t care about their teams and spit in the faces of the people that propped them up. Despite gross mismanagement, underpaying, and disrespecting their players and fans for YEARS, the Athletics had managed to create a legacy of powerhouses and home grown talent that tried their best to stay persistent all the way up until the 2020s and we were there for all of it. We will remember how they systematically and intentionally assassinated one of the greatest teams in baseball. We showed up to a Mt.Davis mutilated, dirty concrete, sewage filled specter of what was once one of the most beautiful stadiums in baseball left to decay and disrepair, with nothing but an overpriced hotdog in our hands, and we threw a fucking party- -with no incentive to go than simply our love for Baseball with our families and a team that resonated with the working class energy we encapsulated. It was grungy, but there was a sort of comfort and familiarity that made it home because we had been to hell and back and raised there with a fire and passion that showed what we were capable of with the bare minimum. Honestly, I love that Stadium, it’s what baseball feels like to me and I never had a problem with it, it just needs a little TLC. It wasn’t a big tourist attraction, A’s fans came for Baseball. I have personally met several fans in that stadium that have been attending every home game for more than 40years. We were never glamorous, but we had grit and spunk. We bang our war drums, we wave, we blow our horns, and we dance, we drive on the field in little cars, and we race giant bobble head mascots, because we were 2 Legit 2 Quit. The Athletics deserve better, the Fans deserve better. We know it, the Athletics players know it (guns practically held to their heads to say nothing I’m sure,) and Fisher knows it and extorts us- and still we crawled out of the woodworks to show that we are here and we care. 27,759 fans came to a reverse boycott to show this motherfucker that his audience is here if he would only put in the effort. Back in 2018 playing the Giants they made the season attendance record with 56,310. People will show up if they think there’s something to watch. The fact that you can solidly place the Athletics as the focus of both MoneyBall and Major League is telling. This fucking atrocity is going to earn documentaries with how vile it is. It’s going to make history as one of the most objectively disgraceful departures in sports entertainment. The only bright spot in any of this is, is that the team being humiliatingly stripped from their fanbase and home can at least have the dignity of playing in a dugout not covered in literal shit.
Thank you Damon for everything that you have been doing for giving us A’s fan a voice and for being behind us. My father and I met you when you came out to Oakland and even got the chance to take a picture with you (I’m the one who had the fisher doesn’t flush sign). Once the A’s are gone my 28 years of fandom are gone. MLB is dead to me, take me out to the ballgame makes me sad now, and I no longer have a team to root root for. Fisher and MLB let greed win and the fans suffer the most. We ABSOLUTELY thank you for everything you’ve done. Thank you
Even Mark Davis called out John Fisher on his bull by squatting on one year leases for years on end. I wish I could’ve seen the A’s play at the Coliseum. I’m a lifelong Braves fan and would be upset if they moved. I hate it for A’s fans. They deserve better. Damon, I appreciate you calling out the facts. John Fisher is a spineless coward.
That’s the problem there I am a Raiders fan and I can strongly argue that Mark Davis is 3xs worse of an owner than John Fisher. Davis coming hard on Fisher is like the pot calling the kettle black. Mark Davis trash along with that POS Head Coach that he hired. For fuck sake Davis supposedly is trying to win, but he hired a coach that at best will win him 5 games this year. Oh here’s my personal favorite Mark Davis moment, so he hires an interim coach that led his team to its first and only postseason trip in Las Vegas. Mark of course hires the guy and give him an okay contract, nope, instead canned him. Call me crazy but I don’t think John Fisher has ever been that fucking stupid, Davis needs shut the bleep up.
Fisher has tried to make it look like he could reasonably move the team. For the last few years he’s raised prices of everything like tickets and concessions. Made the team look bad, in order to have fewer fans going to games. His intention has been to make it look like he had good reason to move the team.
The dynamic ticket pricing (tripled) for the Giants, Yankees, Dodgers and final game was obscene. Should of been sellouts for all games but only the final one was. Their last year they should have made all games $10-20 to pack the place and give the concession workers some work.
Thank you Damon, from an As fan since the 80s. I have said my goodbye to the team when the L.A. dodgers came to town. It's tough seeing the team I loved since I was a kid, looking at the coliseum where my dad has taken me the memories I had with him are gone because of john fisher. I took my kid to games and he became an As fan, but thanks to John fisher our team and history is gone. I wish the Haas family never sold the team, I wish the giants were not that greedy and gave the south bay back to the As. Atleast I got to see my Oakland As win a championship, too bad my son won't see that.
My sympathies to Oakland. Having been abandoned by both the football Cardinals and the Rams, I know how you feel. We loved our teams but they didn't love us back.
I attended my last Oakland A's game yesterday 😞 us A's fans are heartbroken and are pissed off what Fisher and Manfraud has done to our team! We love our players and team, but the owner can go to hell 🔥 F Fisher, Kavel and Manfraud!! Thank you DA for having our backs!
Once again thank you my brother for keeping it a 💯 like always! This is going to be a tough week but we're gonna ride together until the wheels fall off. Until shovels are digging in Vegas dirt or we can land an expansion team there's always a chance for Oakland to have a happy ending in all of this. MLB and KC made kt right for their respective cities. Manfred needs to right this wrong, history is watching...
Thank you Damon. I have been an avid A's fan since the A's moved to Oakland in 1968. Last year during the offseason, I finally had to let it go because it was killing me inside. I could not stand back, powerless to do anything about it, and watch part of my soul being ripped out. I will never forgive Rob Manfred, John Fisher and his lackies for what they have done to the city of Oakland and to the millions of A's fans like me.
Thank you for this. Speaks for all of us. My family and I attended our last game on Sat and we were all crying. I took my kids to the games when they were babies, and now my grandkids. It’s heartbreaking that we are losing our family tradition. I refuse to become a Giant’s fan or to attend any of the Sac games. Fisher and Manfred have made me a hater 😢.
Thank you DA for all your support all this time. Your support has really meant the absolute world to us in this grueling process. That letter was a train wreck. Fisher is a train wreck and this whole process has been insulting. You are a great guy with awesome integrity and we all thank you for all you have done for all of us! - Mike
Thanks for supporting A's fans ever since fisher announced his abandonment. I noticed main stream media in the bay area actually jumping on the kick fisher bandwagon a week or so ago. Would have been nice if they'd been screaming from the rooftops a couple of years ago instead of when it's popular. Local media might have forced another path. They're cowards. Sometimes it feel like a lonely, losing path to protest horrible wealthy ownership. But you & very few others in the media validated the fans when it wasn't pc to do so. For that, I will always be grateful to you. Keep doing good, Damon. Thanks again & God bless. ❤
On September 26, 2024 MLB and I will part ways. I would've had more respect if Fisher had been upfront and stated they wanted a new host city, my hometown would not have wasted valuable time and resources to keep this team Rooted in Oakland. From my first game with dad at a playoff game in 1972 and hearing the crowds cheering from my school yard I was a fan. From my home on 66th Ave I walked and biked to games. Every boyfriend knew my best dates were watching my A's. Doing EMS standby 87-89 with my future husband. Bringing my 3 sons to the games and enjoying attending Black Panther night with the 3rd generation of my 66th Ave family. Eight seasons working the box office and seeing families come to games, not corporate facetimers. Teens spending the day at the park with community vouchers. Dads who bring their daughters and longtime fans with a great story to share. But my favorite is a 15 stuck babysitting brother and sis wanting to see Sean Manea pitch. I got them in with great seats near restrooms and a food voucher. I love what this team has meant over the years and like so many other things I love, it too has come to an end. No to Sacramento, No to Vegas, No to Kaval, No to Fisher, No to MLB.
DA, you've always been a champion for what's good and what's right. Speaking as an Astros fan, it's broken all of our hearts to see our division mate's fanbase go through this. Every part of this is horrific, and thank you for being a real one for having the backs of the A's fans. A's fans, I'm so sorry and I can't imagine how tough Thursday's gonna be. I have some experience being a Houston Oiler fan, but frankly, this is significantly worse. All love, everyone.
You are so spot on about orchestrated apathy. I've been going to A's games since I was a baby. My first autograph was Billy Martin on my first glove yet I wanted Rickey. My dad (he grew up in LA was a big Dodger fan but loved the game) was impressed I got Billy even though I had no idea who the old man was 🤣Fisher has broken my heart and my love for my A's and MLB. Thank you Damon. I very much appreciate you
Let me start off by saying I've been an A's fan for 40 years and also from Sacramento so to say that I'm excited to see the A's play baseball here in Sacramento is an understatement. On the other hand I agree that Fisher is a scumbag and has ruined the team from the start. He's never wanted to invest in the team and he won't if he ever gets to Vegas. But are the other billionaire team owners just as stupid as Fisher? Why would they agree for him to move to Vegas if he's such a moron? I keep hearing that MLB needs to step in and do something about Fisher but they won't do it. Why won't they step in? Are they just as stupid as Fisher?
The photo of Fisher holding the microphone and exposing his bald head has an uncanny resemblance. He looks like a real life Mr. Barlow from "Salem's Lot".
Great take as always, DA. I'm a die-hard Royals fan and remember you from the old 610 Sports days, and you know as well as anyone about mediocre ownership (David Glass). I'm not naive enough to think this can't happen in Kansas City someday, and I feel for A's fans who've been loyal to their team even though ownership refused to be loyal to them in return. I find it disgusting what John Fisher has done. He's scum. And I say that as a Las Vegas resident of the past 13 years. You're right, we aren't going crazy about the A's coming to town. But we also know it's not happening for a few years, so there really isn't any reason to get excited yet. I believe we'll show up for games. Vegas is a great sports town now. I never expected this city to support all these pro sports teams when I moved here in 2012, so I'm confident we'll do it with the A's. But I wish it was an expansion team because it kinda feels dirty swiping the A's away from Oakland.

And THEY AND THE LEAGUE NOT KEEPING THEM FOT THE CITY ? all the best teams , that rich in success ,STAY PUT. Look at the leagues and how many loser teams there are , with bad ownerships, low attendance, not moving
After hearing this, I hear echoes of what longtime Chicago White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf who has been doing the same exact thing in sticking it to the fans. I don't know if anyone noticed, but last week a makeshift field was planted several miles north of Guaranteed Rate in what the team is hoping to be The 78, as in the 78th neighborhood in the city of Chicago. Once again, he is asking the state of Illinois to foot the bill or by 2030, some rumors have been floating around to them possibility moving to Nashville. Bottom line, I feel your pain and A's fans should have deserved better. We'll all see how it goes in 100 plus degree heat of Sacramento. I wonder how many fans will actually show up then.
What happened to the Oakland A’s was the plot of Major League only it wasn’t funny. Unable to shakedown the city of Oakland for taxpayer money for a new stadium he deliberately put a substandard team on the field so they would start losing and attendance would decline to the point he could justify moving the team. Both the state of Nevada and Clark County were willing to provide Fisher the corporate welfare he desired. Similar stuff is happening with the Chicago White Sox. Jerry Reinsdorf is currently asking for $1 billion of taxpayer funds for a new stadium. Sports team owners could teach the mafia a lesson on how to run an extortion racket.
Just a quick hit on the Oakland A's. Worst owner, Worst stadium, worst broadcast team (she is terrible) The worst city. Good luck in Vegas if you ever get there. So sad that they ruined it
As much as I have been a fan of the A's when looking back at games that Mark McGuire has done, Barry Zito during their silver season at the A's and the rebuild of the team since then, I cannot say that I will want to watch the game much after this season. I'll still have the Giants kicking around the area, but this is definitely heartbreaking to see ownership and franchise suffer from what was once a high point of the A's in the 1970's series titles to the 1989 Earthquake series and to the 2000's during their silver years and floundering thereafter with the exception of 2020. Unfortunately, John Fischer probably just wanted to move the team out of the Bay Area from the very beginning and is hiding behind PR speak for a lack of a better term when it comes to announcements. Had the A's moved to San Jose with what Wolff had in store, this exodus of fans would have not happened in the way that it has become. Sure, the San Jose Giants would have been in the way, but I could have seen an agreement where had the [San Francisco] Giants been able to exercise their rights correctly, they could have exercised options such as upgrading the fan experience in San Jose. Unfortunately, penny pinching really made the team suffer more than anything else.
One of my life's sweetest memories is being at that 1972 WS game 3 with my Dad when the A's came from behind in the ninth to win. Angel Manguel, Gonzolo Marquez sparked the comeback. Can't believe I actually remember those names.
Remember it's a business the owners don't gaf about you I told As fans to stop buying merchandise and season tickets same with raider fans until we got a new stadium guess what now we got no sports team 😂😂😂
if they didn't want to stay in oakland they could have built in a suburb like the 9ers or patriots. there's an upper crust town not 20 minutes from oakland called walnut creek in which it's residents swear up and down there's an area (can't remember the street names) they say is wide open and could fit a stadium. however i don't think they ever said anything about a parking lot but they say it's near a bart stop. (bay area rapid transit; for thos who didn't know) if they wanted out of oakland i understand. but why not a suburb? there's more than a few teams from different sports that have done just that.
A’s fans are not victims…… they may have some loyal fans, but they are meager in numbers and always have them…. And Oakland city leadership is pathetic, ask the Raiders and Warriors!
Dream of a new ball park in Oakland when they bought the team in 2005. He just ignored the fact he wanted to move the team to Fremont in 2006. What a clown John is.
I have no idea what the people of Oakland did to deserve this, along with the Raiders move to Vegas, but I feel terrible for them and they deserve much better.

We showed up to a Mt.Davis mutilated, dirty concrete, sewage filled specter of what was once one of the most beautiful stadiums in baseball left to decay and disrepair, with nothing but an overpriced hotdog in our hands, and we threw a fucking party-
-with no incentive to go than simply our love for Baseball with our families and a team that resonated with the working class energy we encapsulated.
This is just as much a move perpetrated by MLB as it was Fisher. MLB not only allowed but encouraged this to happen.
Yup, didn't ding him with a relocation fee.
@@oiler62This part.. this alone tells you how MLB feels about it smh. Absolutely sucks man!! Will miss our Oakland A's
“It’s been harder for me than for you” 🙄🙄
Thank you Damon for everything that you have been doing for giving us A’s fan a voice and for being behind us.
A's forced the Raiders out. They could have worked together and built 2 stadiums on the Coliseum grounds.
The A’s jacked up the price for the final game.
they do this every time they play SF too 😅
Thanks DA, you get it. Oakland forever
Last time Lew Wolff spoke he said, if you win the world series but don't earn a profit, did you really win?
Are you still going to watch MLB?
@@someguy7222 I bet that fan will support the Oakland Ballers, even though it's an independent baseball team that plays in the Pioneer League.
@@joesakic91 I appreciate what the Ballers are trying to do, but it's too big of a step down for me.
Thank you Damon for speaking out for us true Oakland A’s fans. This means a lot to us.
I very much appreciate you
As an outsider it seems that Fisher wanted to leave Oakland the moment that he bought the team.
Believe me, this story goes far before John Fisher even got his hand on the team.
He wishes he could speak to me individually but he won’t come to a game or turn on social media comments!?!
The photo of Fisher holding the microphone and exposing his bald head has an uncanny resemblance. He looks like a real life Mr. Barlow from "Salem's Lot".
John Fisher is a piss poor excuse of a team owner.
Thank you D.A.! Will tune in Thursday if I am able. 🥤
Excellent rant and video, DA. Bravo. 🎉❤
John Fisher = Rachel Phelps
Because there were solutions in the Bay Area that MLB blocked, MLB is dead to me after Thursday.
Wants to speak to the fans, with comments off? What a jerk move
I hope they still decide to sell the team and keep them here in Oakland.
Thank you Dave
When did he work for KC radio?
@@fantasticvoyage262 The DA Show began in KC on 610 Sports in the 2000s. He got fired around 2009 or so. Can't remember the exact year. Was a load of crap when he got fired. He was on right about when Nick Wright got his start at 610 Sports.
@@jonsofen8702 I used to listen to that station. But I don't remember him on air. So he must have left sometime before I started listening. I always listened to Nick Wright on my way home every day.
Thanks David yes A’s fans got hosed Manfred is awful too
Thank you for continuing to stand up for the fans Damon! FJF!!!
I saw another video about this subject and I feel for you A's fans cuz I see the same thing going on in Chicago with my White Sox. JR has a power play give him a new stadium or he moves the team it sucks Fisher and JR ESAD
How bad could he want to speak to us when Caval turned off all comments on social media - our only opportunity to engage. Joke!
They’re are clownish liars until the bitter end
Exactly!
I wish he would just tell it like it is. "Oakland is too poor and too black"
seems nobody remembers the Reggie Group had a higher offer for the A's yet Fisher got the team.... W T F
Oakland A's Forever
Yup, never say Vegas. I have so much A's gear going back 50 years. Will only wear the stuff that says Oakland on it.
@@oiler62 When you said Vegas, you meant Sacramento?
Fisher and MLB ruined Baseball for me , never spending another dime
Thank you I will be tuning in⚾️💚💛

WOW WHAT A GREAT HISTORY and 2 dirty owners.9 world championships : 1910,11,13, 29,30,72,73,74,89 and 6 more A.L. championships: 1902, 05,14,31,88,and 90 . And THEY AND THE LEAGUE NOT KEEPING THEM FOT THE CITY ? all the best teams , that rich in success ,STAY PUT. Look at the leagues and how many loser teams there are , with bad ownerships, low attendance, not moving
PREACH
Will tune in Thursday!
Reinsdorf might not be around in 2030 still 6 years, many things could happen between now and then
I don't get it, the Sox stadium is beautiful
As a CWS fan , will this same thing be happening in 6 years
Always sad when these things happen 😢
Miss you on the radio on my morning drive into work DA. Glad the youtube algorithm finally brought you to my feed
Thanks brother. Glad you found me here too
First and goal at the ten-year line!!! John Fisher-Rachel Phelps gets cold feet!!!
If she's been left by three guys in the same way, are we assuming all the guys are assholes or does that mean she clearly has flaws too.
Mr. Barlow with an A's cap.
just sell it to joe so they can stay in the bay.
👏👏👏 BRAVO, DAMON.... BRAVO !!! 👏👏👏
An A's fan from NYC since 1971.
Thank you, this video is a perfect response. You’re giving JF the respect he deserves.
One of my life's sweetest memories is being at that 1972 WS game 3 with my Dad when the A's came from behind in the ninth to win. Angel Manguel, Gonzolo Marquez sparked the comeback. Can't believe I actually remember those names.
That’s an amazing memory
Get em Damon!!
oakland isnt even close to las vegas. it's a 10 hour drive through the hottest desert in the world.
There could be trains in the future to make the journey 2-3 hours long, but that wouldn't make me go watch a cartel league baseball game live
Remember it's a business the owners don't gaf about you I told As fans to stop buying merchandise and season tickets same with raider fans until we got a new stadium guess what now we got no sports team 😂😂😂
Except for the Ballers.
As Don Corleone said, "Look what they did to my boy"
fisher letter is BS
The fact that the memo doesn't even have a signature facsimile adds to the lack of interest he has for Oakland
if they didn't want to stay in oakland they could have built in a suburb like the 9ers or patriots. there's an upper crust town not 20 minutes from oakland called walnut creek in which it's residents swear up and down there's an area (can't remember the street names) they say is wide open and could fit a stadium. however i don't think they ever said anything about a parking lot but they say it's near a bart stop.
No, A's, I won't be a fan anymore. I wish the players and baseball managers and staff the best, but I have no love for the owners.
John Fisher was BORN leading off on THIRD BASE and the PITCHER just threw a WILD PITCH!!!
So you want them to continue to play in a dump the worst stadium in sport
Are you saying Fisher couldn't pay for a new stadium?
No. I wanted them to get a new stadium at Howard Terminal.
Dream of a new ball park in Oakland when they bought the team in 2005. He just ignored the fact he wanted to move the team to Fremont in 2006. What a clown John is.
Has anyone ever seen the movie Talk Radio?
You NAILED it
Thanks 👊🏼
I have no idea what the people of Oakland did to deserve this, along with the Raiders move to Vegas, but I feel terrible for them and they deserve much better.
I can’t believe MLB and the players aren’t trying to force this owner out. It would be to their benefit!!!!
john fisher's letter is like letting ted bundy give a eulogy for one of his victims.
Im a lapsed baseball fan. Ive really not cared the past 20 years but even I know, on the other coast, what a colossal waste of human flesh John Fisher is.
This is fact!
Hopefully the MLBPA will not sign off on playing in Sacramento because the artificial turf and the horrible idea of playing a in minor league park
That would mean they would have no choice to return to the Coliseum in 2025, possibly
Rooted in Oakland! They got ya good there!! 🤣🤣🤣
Don't forget about Bud Selig who viewed the A's being in Oakland was a mistake and he dislikes small market teams.
