    Just noticed that they have added Tank Superiority as an official Portal mode this week! In the official mode, all ground vehicles are available and you can spawn on the ground - so ground troops are available. Of course you can set this up whichever way you like in your own modes but while the official one is available with full XP I recommend you check that out!

      Is this easy to find? Will the custom experience for Tank Superiority add bots automatically? And do the bots finally come out of their spawn base?

      So, custom doesnt automatically add AI, you need to add them if you want them, and it does reduce XP to the most restricted. The good news is the bots are 'challenging' in this mode if you want a bit of practice! They definitely come out of their spawn :) The downside is the bots still dont fly planes...I really wanted to do a full on WW2 fighter plane battle but looks like I will need to leave that for another day. The official experience this week is pretty good but having soldiers on the ground takes away from it all a bit because not only are you contending with 10 other tanks but you also have to look out for little dudes firing rockets all over the place. Lis is everywhere!

    Stumbled across this when looking to get air superiority working with bots (RIP planes) and it's been so helpful, thanks for creating these guides! This was exactly what I was looking for.
    The Battlefield franchise has so many good memories for me, I really hope they open up Portal more and more so we can really go to town on it. I'll never forget being able to get out of a spitfire mid-flight, walk along it's wing, hop onto the bomber piloted next to me by my older brother, repair it and return to my plane before engaging load of stukas in BF1942. Now that we're all older and are always busy, all I want is to be able to do something like that again but with bots.
    Wonder if the AI update for planes will ever actually come...

      Thank you! I never know when I do them whether they will be useful or not so its good to know someone found it useful.
      As for AI and planes, I honestly think it will happen. I could be wrong but I can live in hope. Can't wait for a good old time fighter battle. Would be better with a server full of human players but I'd settle for AI. I used to play often with my younger brother..good memories indeed.

    Does turning the respawn timer down not work for suisides? Still waiting almost 2 minutes to respawn. Trying to get my server right.

    I'm trying to set up an all out superiority with all games 1942 bc2 bf3 1942 is it possible

      Sorry its taken a while to reply. Not exactly. You need to select the team available in restrictions and you can either have map default or select just one of the factions. If you select default you just get a standard vehicle set for each map. If you select a faction it alters the vehicles you have available. You can have each team with different factions which will mix it up but thats about it really.

    Hi mate. I’m trying to work out how to override locked vehicles in the rules editor. Do you know how to do this? By default, vehicles aren’t available if there are players in the server that haven’t unlocked them.

      Sorry, don't know how I didnt spot this. Did not know that tbh but I don't mess with vehicles much. I will have a look but that sounds pretty intentional annoyingly and its the same with the weapons.

      @@BattlefieldDad hi mate. No worries. I’ve been busy making a load of different servers. I can’t make any more - it won’t let me have any more 😂. Lead poisoning, rinse and repeat, Bob Lee swagger, sniper wars, vehicle wars, these are a few I’ve made. I’ve also added teleporting and freezing for teamkillers - they’re on display to the whole map and frozen for 30 seconds to picked off as punishment 😂. Endless magazines, team switch cheats.. all sorts. I’m having fun making stuff up 😎

    Hey man just found your channel when I was looking for help with rules editor yesterday.
    I wanted to ask you - do you think it’s possible to make a “gun game” mode with vehicles, now that these superiority modes are in the game?
    The rules editor doesn’t seem as robust for vehicle modes, but it seems like there should be a way. I just couldn’t figure it out

      At the moment I’ve not had much chance to really look at what is possible with the vehicle blocks. There’s quite a lot there and then I need to see how far I can push it 😂.
      In ‘theory’ a gun game style mode ‘may’ be possible but I can think off the top of my head a number of problems doing something like that might present in the logic and general mechanics. In short until I’ve messed about a bit more I can’t be sure - love the idea though. Imagine getting five kills in a tank then being transported into a helicopter for five more…nice.

    Can you tell me how to setup an air superiority server for solo/COOP

      I'm a bit of a fool really as I should have mentioned this in the video! First before I give you advice bear in mind AI will not fly planes at the moment, only choppers (as of July 22 anyway). If you only have planes available as air vehicles and you have it set so that on foot deployment is off, no AI will spawn in.
      When setting up the server if you want coop then just make sure you:
      1. Under core - game mode details, put in how many human players you want to be able to be in the game and what side (so if you want 4 friends facing off against AI then put 4 humans on team 1 and 0 on team 2.
      2. Under modifiers - AI, change AI Type to PvE
      3.Under PvE count add as many AI players as you want in the game and on which side.
      Remember when adding AI that there is a maximum number of vehicles (so don't add more players than there are vehicles) so if you have 4 human players on Team 1 and have 48 vehicles in the game (24 on each side) set it so that there are 20 AI on team 1 and 24 on Team 2.
      Finally - AI numbers are playing up at the minute so you might find there aren't as many join as you set.

      Oh ok thanks. I just want to play vs AI bots by myself where they're only in vehicles (& me). So an air superiority mode & a ground one but with no infantry.
      I know it's possible but I'm a new player that got BF 2042 with PS Plus recently & idk how. I've tried a few times but screwed up the settings.
      So yeah I just want an only air vehicles & only ground vehicles matches vs AI bots, thank you & I subscribed.

      Oh ok I didn't even know the AI were like that back then. Guess I got the game at the right time with PS Plus then. That's my view with all multiplayer games now, only play them when they're finished or far along with dev support. And yeah you're welcome your channel seems cool.

    Thanks for this! I noticed that Air Superiority is an objective based mode. I’d love to make a dogfighting only mode. Is it possible to remove the objectives and have the win based on a certain number of kills per team? If so, would there also be a way to remove teams and have it be a deathmatch mode?

      Absolutely possible yes! Doesn’t need much doing in the logic editor to achieve that either. I’d love a dogfighting mode as well - especially with WW2 fighters. The only downside would be the restricted XP but that’s the consequence of making custom modes.

I tried setting “enabledefaultgamemodewincondition” and “enabledefaultgamemodescoring” to false and then setting the game mode target score, but the game ended in a draw instantly because both teams started with 1400 tickets. Do you think you could do a video on how to make that work when you have a chance?

      Ah, ok, I can see what is going on there. I will see if i can put something together, especially if you might struggle a bit beyond that as well. If you want a head start, its basically setting the win before the game starts so in the rule under 'on game mode started', disable the wincondition and default scoring, then put a wait block for maybe 2 seconds, then set the two teams scores to 0, then put a wait for another 2 seconds, then set the score to win. It is a bit weird but it just makes sure things happen in the right order.. (I don't know if 2 seconds is too long or not enough so you might need to experiment)

One question tho, because it’s a conquest mode, will kills count toward the game score or does it have to be TDM for the win to trigger on kills? If so, then I won’t be able to have a dogfight mode like I want using air superiority.

      No, you need to do more customising to make it based on kills. It starts to get a bit more complicated depending on what you want to achieve. There is an 'onvehicledestroyed' event but I need to have more of a look at that because you'd need to work out why it was destroyed and which team it belonged too which is difficult after it has been destroyed so first thought is it is better to just use the onplayerearnedkill event as you would in a standard TDM. If you add one to the players/teams score every time they get a kill, turn off the objectives, turn off passenger seats, and dont allow players to exit vehicles I think you will get close to what you want. I think I might put something out within a couple of days anyway because I am interested in something similar myself.

      Yep, we’ve done something similar in the past. It does depend what you want to do. If you mean a mode that’s like the last circle in a br or the end of some operations in BFV that’s not too difficult but as a mode can be a little dull for the players. This video shows you how to work out if a player is the last one alive. That might help.

    Is it possible to force players and bots to spawn in vehicles only? I have been trying to find information on doing so and really haven't found much. Thanks!

      In the standard settings in the logic editor, under modifiers - soldier, you are looking for the toggle at the bottom that says 'on-foot deployment'. Set that to off and players can only spawn in vehicles - and as long as AI have the same setting they will do the same. Make sure under the vehicle modifiers you set the combat vehicle spawn type to deploy menu only. Also maybe want to set 'exiting vehicles' to off (under the vehicle modifier). I do go through that in the video (starting around 13:30)

      Hi sorry I didnt reply earlier, been caught up with work so not been online much. The short answer is that currently you can't. There isn't really much built in to portal for control over cameras etc. Sorry I cant give you a better reply.

      Yep, frustratingly they still won’t fly aircraft. It has been flagged with the devs but no idea when/if that will get sorted. Kind of makes it difficult to do a coop air battle - maybe at some point. I’ll be sure to let everyone know the minute that changes!

      Unfortunately you can’t. The maps are reduced in air superiority, I guess to cope with the increased vehicles. Be quite cool to have free for all - you’d never know where the fire was coming from 😂. Alas as it is, it’s not to be.

      @@BattlefieldDad i made an air superiority game where if you are killed by a player then you switch teams. I need a code where if you suicide or are killed by the gas then you also switch teams.
      The game gets lopsided without ai.
