I made a separate video showing how to crochet the strap & top edging of the Summer Days Daisy Bag! You can find it here: th-cam.com/video/0xreUQ-n_tI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=A576UYbUSOHg4ruw
I’m having problems too as this is my first crochet project. Everything went fine until the strap attachment. Do you have video on this, Stephanie? Thanks in advance.
@@AllAboutAmiBlog yes, I’ve read it several times and still having problem with attaching the second end of the strap. Appreciate all help from you. Thanks
Hi do you have a video connecting the granny squares with the slip stich. I bought the pattern I'm just more of a visual learner and I'm having a hard time putting it together. Also we crochet them together on the wrong side correct?
Yes you can see a visual of the slip stitch seaming here: th-cam.com/video/0xreUQ-n_tI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5mtXJZEd1uHMh02e The wrong sides are facing you when you’re doing the seaming!
Are you using the same yarn and hook size that I am? Sometimes you can pull the initial yarn end a little tighter to completely close the hole in the middle!
You can check out my video called “Troubleshooting the Crochet Daisy” - this helps explain why sometimes people are ending up with 13 stitches! It’s for my daisy blanket, but it is the same pattern for the daisy bag (first couple of rounds are the same but they differ later on)!
I just started this and I’m on the fourth square. I was wondering what is the layout to sew the squares the part in the video is a litttle hard to see. Thank you!
You could definitely try going up a hook size or two! The stitches of the granny squares might not be as dense though (larger gaps), so your overall bag will be larger and might stretch more!
You can use acrylic yarn but I find that it is not as strong and may stretch more! The yarn I used (24/7 Cotton) is a very strong and durable mercerized cotton, so it doesn’t stretch or fuzz up easily. I like using this yarn for all my crochet bags as it holds up very well!
Dis is awesome! I understood d tutorial of d granny square. Got lost at d stage where it is to b assembled as a bag, can u pls make a separate tutorial on how to connect d granny squares together to form d bag.... Please!! Por favor!
Some of my pattern testers have lined their crocheted bags! I use a bag organizer insert for my own bags. I try not to load them up with too many heavy items to prevent too much stretching! I find that using the smaller crochet hook and mercerized cotton helps to prevent too much stretching as well.
You need 15 granny squares for this bag! I connected them together using the slip stitch seaming. I am hoping to work on a video showing how to make the strap! You can read more details in the pattern on my blog!

Thanks for this! I'm relearning granny squares - and this is very easy to follow - and I love your sweet voice. Thank you!!

You're welcome!
I would also love a video on strap and edging. Struggling with the instructions.
Thanks for letting me know! I will see if I can make a video for the strap part in the future!
thank you so much for this, is there a way you can show how you laid the bag out to assemble the bag together and the strap?
Hey in the written instructions for the bag on her blog it says how she does it with pictures to help.
Hello! Can you make tutorial on top of the bag and strap? Thanks!
I will try and work on that video tutorial! Thanks for letting me know 💕
❤ thank you
You're very welcome!
Do you have a video on how to finish & make the strap?
I currently do not, but I will see if I can make a video about the strap of this bag!
I love this bag, but where can I find the pattern for free?
The free pattern can be found on my blog here: www.allaboutami.com/summer-days-daisy-bag/
Can u use a 4.5 mm yarn with a 7 mm hook or does it have to be smaller?
You can check out the free written pattern on my blog to see which hook sizes I used throughout the bag!
My magic ring has a hole in the middle. Is this a tension problem or a hook size problem?
Are you using the same yarn and hook size that I am? Sometimes you can pull the initial yarn end a little tighter to completely close the hole in the middle!
Is it everywhere the same yarn size (4mm) or does it change
And is it always the same hook (size) = 3.75 mm
It varies in different sections!
I wish that I could get my middle as tight as yours is. Mine is just not tight.
Did lion brand discontinue the shade succulent?
It’s currently out of stock, but hopefully they will restock soon!
Somehow on round 2 without fail I end up with 13 single crochets when I’m finished the round. Where am I going wrong?
You can check out my video called “Troubleshooting the Crochet Daisy” - this helps explain why sometimes people are ending up with 13 stitches! It’s for my daisy blanket, but it is the same pattern for the daisy bag (first couple of rounds are the same but they differ later on)!
@@AllAboutAmiBlog thank you, I will
All is clear now 😂 thank you
You’re welcome!!! I’m glad to hear that!
hii, i was wondering the measurements for these squares because i want to make a cardigan out of these ☺️
Thanks for asking! Each granny square is: 3.75” (9.5cm) x 3.75” (9.5 cm)!
@@AllAboutAmiBlog thank you so muchhh 🫶
@@Whatifiuhh hi how many squares did U use for ur cardigan wondering as I am making one myself
Do you have a video how to join the granny
How to do the magic ring?
I have a separate video showing how I crochet the magic ring ☺️👍🏻

You can check out the pattern on my blog to see how to lay out the squares and attach them together! I have graphics that you can reference ☺️
I couldn’t find that is it in the summer days Daisy bag post or a separate one? Sorry!
No worries! You can search for the “Wildrose Shoulder Bag” as that one shows the layout! I link to it within the Summer Days post too ☺️
Thank you so much!
It was a 13 square pattern so do I add the extra 2 on the side in the bottom? Sorry if that is confusing
Would it be possible to go up a hook size or 2 on the granny squares to make a larger bag (and also save my arthritic fingers?)
You could definitely try going up a hook size or two! The stitches of the granny squares might not be as dense though (larger gaps), so your overall bag will be larger and might stretch more!
@@AllAboutAmiBlogHow about using a bulky yarn with larger hooks?
Please make a video on how to assemble bag and make strap.
Is it ok to use acrylic yarn or is cotton best?
You can use acrylic yarn but I find that it is not as strong and may stretch more! The yarn I used (24/7 Cotton) is a very strong and durable mercerized cotton, so it doesn’t stretch or fuzz up easily. I like using this yarn for all my crochet bags as it holds up very well!

At what point are you changing crochet hooks? Are you just using the 2.75 to weave in ends?
I change to the smaller crochet hook when working the strap to get tighter and denser stitches there!
Do you line your bags ? If not do they stretch a lot ?
Some of my pattern testers have lined their crocheted bags! I use a bag organizer insert for my own bags. I try not to load them up with too many heavy items to prevent too much stretching! I find that using the smaller crochet hook and mercerized cotton helps to prevent too much stretching as well.

Please show the layout of the squares
You can see the layout of the squares in the written pattern on my blog!
Hi! How much yarn did you use?
I needed 2 skeins of the main color, 1 skein of the petal color and 1 skein of the center color (4 total)!
how much yarn did u use?
How many daisy granny squares do you need?
How do you make the strap?
And how do you connect all together? I’m a little bit lost…
You need 15 granny squares for this bag! I connected them together using the slip stitch seaming. I am hoping to work on a video showing how to make the strap! You can read more details in the pattern on my blog!
How many skeins of each color did you need for 1 bag?
