The musical creativity and flashes of genius of the protagonists back then are still unsurpassed today. Brian Auger is one of the great geniuses of the heyday of rock history. The whole band are brilliant musicians.

From the age of 11 I listened to the beat genre, from Dylan to The Who. At 15, listening to Brian opened my mind to more advanced music. The following year I was lucky enough to hear Auger live with Trinity

It's MUSIC, where EVERY musician has possibilities to express himself and EVERYONE from auditorium FEELS IT. No heaps of gadgets, no couple of moving dancers, NO ENORMOUS POMP on stage. PROFESSIONALITY only. Strictly PUREE MUSIQUE. Normal ROCK must be alike CLASSIC MUSIC! CREAM, EL&P, JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE - alike classic trios, so BEATLES were classic quartet and so on. Certainly, every kind of music can exist, but, there were times, when millions of young peoples, after hearing of something like Love Me Do, opened their eyes wide and started to learn chords, looking for something special in this extremely NEW feeling. It exist very good professipnally groups, but where are this previous freshness of feelings, where are real hits, that ride around the World, alike, hm.. Venus by Shocking Blue, Epitaph, Spirit In The Sky by Norman Greenbaum, Child In Time, Immigrant Song, If You Go Away, Je r'aime..,Stumblin' In etc etc. So, Rock On!.

Rare and fascinating footage of OE with Robbie McIntosh on drums. Other than that, although very high energy, it's actually pretty dire, what with Jim Mullens' tuning issues and Auger's vocals - he just doesn't have a good voice. Interesting quote of Mahavishnu's 'One Word' at 8:40. Not their best moment, though...

Whilst Jim later became a fantastic jazz funk guitarist his playing during this time was pretty dire and Brian always knew he needed a more funky player, which he eventually found in Jack Mills.

@@worksrider6812 Really, please explain in detail why rather than just throwing out cheap insults??? And btw, it was Brian in an interview who said this exact thing, he needed a more funky rhythm player and when he stumbled across Jack he knew he had found his man.
