Thanks for the video, it has dispelled what I have been told. I have a C&C37/40 with a walk out transom. The off set install will work just fine. I do have davits with solar panels that may have to be adjusted and the dingy can be place on the foredeck for long passages. Has an installation be done on this yacht before?

Will it work on my 1989 Island Packet 35? Potential issues a) rudder comes right aft b) there is a dinghy davit crane but it does have a gap (dinghy can be stored on foredeck) but solar panel are mounted on the cranes c) the cockpit has a bimini and dodger...hoes does this affect airflow? d)main rudder is direct quadrant steering to wheel. Are they available in the USA? If not not, what is the price with import duties?

Hi Snake - for sure! None of those are issues for the Hydrovane: a) Install the Hydrovane off center, b) We will specify the proper length Shaft Assembly so your davits can be operational while using the Hydrovane, c) No problem, d) The main steering is irrelevant - you will simply lock the main wheel (main rudder) before you engage the Hydrovane to take over. Have you got an agent in New Zealand or can I buy direct form the UK or Canada? What is the cost of a Hydrovane for a small 8:5 meter yacht flat transom.thanks

Hi Peter - apologies for the slow response - just noticed your comment. We deal direct. All manufacturing is done in England and we would ship from there. The cost depends on the nature of the boat's transom (determines which shaft length and brackets are required). If the transom is flat, you can use two of the H (Hinged) Brackets - very simple. Hi Terry, The only bolt sets not included are the Mounting Bolts (Bracket Flange to Transom). Each installation needs either 4 or 6 of these and the length required depends on the transom thickness, spacer thickness, etc, so hard for us to spec. Cheers, Sarah Curry.
