You won't regret it , I changed my 23 Crosstrek limited after just 10 months for a white 24 Wilderness and never looked back. I enjoy driving the crap out of it.
So far i only get 24 MPG, and there is an unknown rattle somewhere in the passenger seat area, dealer wanted $1000 for a trailer hitch, getting one from etrailer for less that $200 and also getting one of those devices that turns off that start and stop nonsense
Love mine in Sun Blaze Pearl. Being in Las Vegas, the oversized radiator along with the oil cooler and added transmission cooling fins really help in the summer heat. BTW - the heater steering wheel is only available in Canadian models even though they are made in the same factory as U.S. models.
To me this is the perfect car for someone who wants an off road vehicle, but lives in the city. Good enough for tight city streets and limited parking, but rugged enough to take on dirt roads, snow, sand etc.
Had my crosstrek limited for a year, then traded it in for my wilderness. I drive about 120 miles a day for work. Mix of highway, city, and rural back roads, and i average 28-31MPG (typically around 380-430 miles on a tank) with my wilderness V.S. my limited i was getting about 32-34Mpg and saw a handful of times where i was just under 500 on a tank. I live in WV, so when I commute across the state a few times a month I'll see my mileage drop down to about 23-25 Mpg as compared to my 2021 Wrx I average about 28-30Mpg and my crosstrek limited averaged about the same as my wilderness in the mountains.
Did you have a lot of negative equity when you traded it just after 1 year? I ask because I have a 2024 Honda Accord and I'm thinking about switching over to this Crosstek tbh.
@peruvianheat2053 traded it in for $26k. I had already had 34k miles on the car in less than a year. Considering i bought it for 34k, I'd say I didn't do too bad. ( I had paid cashed)
Have one. I assure you it does NOT have real skid plates. It has a tiny thin bit of aluminum protecting the radiator and that is riveted to a PLASTIC covering for the engine. Really, the representation that it has skid plates is consumer fraud. Other than that, I like it a lot.
Considering the biggest problem with CVTs in terms of reliability is how they cook their CVT oil, having a larger oil cooler is a big bonus, even if you don't tow. Fuel economy may be worse in the Wilderness model but that larger final drive ratio increases torque at the wheels by 11% and also decreases effort required by the engine to move the vehicle. Low stress on engine and transmission should, in theory, increase reliability. The wheel torque increase also increases off-road/low speed capabilities. Easier to crawl and more torque to get un-stuck. All that in a super practical package. Can't wait to get ours here in Canada.
@@morganarutsatz6736just got same one a month ago. Love it (except battery dead a week after purchase, but dealer replaced it roadside assistance service was great)
Would you buy the CrossTrek Wilderness over the Forester Wilderness? I'm coming from a 2014 XV CrossTrek Sport (5-speed). I'm thinking the boxy proportions of the Forester might make it more useful?
The rear hatch not powered... this is great! Powered rear hatches are way too slow to open and close. Most times you are standing there waiting on it, where a manual hatch can be opened and closed so much faster.
Cannot confirm. I get 31 mpg combined consistently after 12k miles. Driving around town, highways, through the Rockies, etc. The only time I get an mpg that low is when taking it off road.
Wife picks hers up Thursday fully loaded with everything. 34k for the vehicle 2500 taxes and fees 1700 for towing package and cross rails for roof Ceramic paint package 1900. Purchase at dealership in Muskegon Michigan.
Special thanks to our Patreons for their support of the channel! Crosstrek or Forester?
I'm a old fan from d1 are you going to make any more destiny videos ?
For everyone who hates the gold ("anodized copper") trim: tape around & spray with removable rubber paint.
Car is awesome I drive my wife around and wait in the car, and people just look at it like what in the tarnation is that! I love it
I stopped at a gas station to compliment this car😅. Looked like it was customized by the owner with the yellow accents
Trading my normal crosstrek in for the wilderness around Christmas time.
I traded my 18 for a ctw, no regrets.
You won't regret it , I changed my 23 Crosstrek limited after just 10 months for a white 24 Wilderness and never looked back.

I love my 2024 Wilderness Crosstrek
I just got an Alpine green ‘24 Crosstrek Wilderness 2 weeks ago…you won’t be disappointed.
I got my CTW 2 weeks ago and I am not sorry. I’m not an off-roader, but this little thing is so fun even as a daily driver!! ❤

It comes with the Harman Kardon sound system?!
It’s an option on this one as well.
Option 23 Harmon Kardon system, sunroof, power adjustable drivers side seat.

I love it especially the fact they beefed up the CVT

Why didn’t you mention the 4.11 gearing vs 3.7 in the Sport etc?
He didn’t even mention that the wheel bearing’s outer diameter is now 0.0015” larger than the sport. How could he possibly miss that??
The wilderness edition looks so good on the Crosstrek.
Taking delivery of an Alpine Green Wilderness in a month. Cannot wait!
Solid Choice. Reserved the same 3 weeks ago. Just got a message saying it's in country and 1-2 weeks to get it.
@@morganarutsatz6736just got same one a month ago. Love it (except battery dead a week after purchase, but dealer replaced it roadside assistance service was great)
Miss having a five or six speed clutch and shifter versus the paddle shifters
It looks so hot! I wish it had a manual variant.

Mine also has lumbar support drivers seat.
Doesn't the regular trim Crosstrek give you better clearance than bronco sport?
the regular crossstrek has the same clearance as bronco sport badlands (8.6 i think)
$38,000CDN. I just bought one.
Ontario
Heating steering wheel not available in the US.

And less to wear out or break
Super glad I bought a new 2023 limited. While I still could.
I like your gloves, is it good for winter weather?
They need a hybrid version of this
Getting mine in a week!
Did you get it?
@bigheavyshoe I did but after 88 miles check engine light was on having problem with #3 cylinder fuel injector I'm worried
what was your outcome. My wife picks hers up Thursday.
Gotta get the rubber mats in the back of the seats.
Great car. Fantastic, even. I hate the gas cap being on the passenger side though. Who enjoys having to walk around the car to fill up.
How the F there is no Rear Seat VENT for 2024??
I average 29mpg at 8k miles
cladding and badging. the singular most important features of vehicles marketed to outdoorsy folks.
Can confirm. I average 23 mpg after 3k miles
Same I’m barley getting 24
Cannot confirm. I get 31 mpg combined consistently after 12k miles. Driving around town, highways, through the Rockies, etc. The only time I get an mpg that low is when taking it off road.
i just got one and if the gas is that low im going to be mad
Same here.
WHAT. mann I was between this and the rav 4 cause the off-roading...but if that's the case I'll just sacrifice and get the hybrid
Amazing review
Would you say it handles better than the Forester?
for me as a viewer..i prefer to watch the video from the outside versus the driver screen
Best car i ever bought
Really, what makes you say that? I ask because I love cars, I've had many cars and I'm thinking about getting this one
Is it slow or no?
No trail cam? No fullsize spare tire? No locking dif.? WTF Subaru?
Why no trail camera? What the hell?
Crap you don't need

Under 35k maxed out ?? 😭😭 I paid 36,500
It's more like 37,5 fully loaded
@@bigheavyshoe correct
After tax and fees, paid 34.5 with 3.9 interest rate 🤷🏼♂️. Before tax and stuff, car price was 31.8

why the huge front bumper tho?
I got is amazing I love
You cannot get a heated steering wheel. The mats are not standard. It's also not under 35k "all in".
The weather mats are standard. Mine came with them.
Mine too.
Canadian Wilderness models come with a heated steering wheel and the mats as standard equipment.
Love the video but the accents are not gold, they are Copper
The yellow accents are trying too hard. It should be an option. Not everyone wants that much odd attention.
Two words: vinyl overlays. Problem solved
I came to say plastic dip!
They're not yellow, they're copper
Feel free to purchase a different trim.
Don’t get it then wtf is wrong with you
We should move past the 'hand-over-the-camera' thing. It's weak and kinda childish.
Subaru's over-the-top name branding is really irksome. Subaru joins the grand parade of unabashed self-promoters.
Just get a Jeep Wrangler..
And drive it every day? No thanks.
And the huge cost difference
I would like to have the option to give up those yellow spots. It looks kitschy. I would rather have it in sky blue or light gray. On the wheel too.
The yellow spots are why I want one :)
The yellow accents look great with the green color
They do make interior coverings for the copper accents on Amazon
