That is the Enterprise! It brings back so many memories. I was greatly abused when I was young, and watching Star Trek was one of the few times we had peace in our house. You have nailed it. I hope you have a great autumn this year. Have a great day.
That’s a sad tale man, but Star Trek took us away temporarily, layed out good from evil, and just let our imaginations run wild for an hour. I have all 3 seasons on DVD, all the original movies, the newest movies also. Don’t have Next Generation, but I can watch it on Netflix whenever I want! This replica is a piece of art and beauty! My brother has every single ship from the series and movies, made out of Pewter! They are absolutely beautiful, and when I say every ship, I really meant it! I’m very Jealous needless to say,but I get to look at them sometimes when I visit. I too was raised on Star Trek, and I still watch originals at least twice a month! Thanks for sharing your comment.
Gristle Von Raben Your story really breaks my heart. Just thinking about a little boy with a shitty childhood and being able to escape every once in a while by watching Star Trek is so very sad. It’s crazy how much our childhood effect us even decades later. Hope your life got better and wish you well
I was abused also by my father. Spock showed me that a person despised by his father could be a great person worthy of respect. Also, Star Trek showed me that people could be calm and work together. It influenced me to have a career in the Air Force. Although a fictional character, Spock was my true father.
i have original series and this greyish while he and the smithsonian say its the colour i wonder if over time it was atmospherical that caused it to grey a bit cause it looks awful white in series
This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in a long time. I absolutely adore this ship, and this is one of the absolute best builds I've ever seen. That paint job is exquisite. And that lighting is phenomenal. I particularly like the choice for the interior lights.
I have been following you for some time, and just had to say that your work is beyond amazing. You have refined the craft of model building into something going well beyond an initial interest in a hobby. Your work is 'living art' and anyone fortunate enough to have a skilled craftsman with the passion that you have for this building their model should count themselves blessed! Thanks again for the many wonderful, informative and inspiring videos!
OMG! What a beautiful ship! She's perfect! The Constitution class and the NX Enterprise have always been favorites of mine. The later versions are great as well but these are my favs!!
That is beautiful. I just pulled mine out of moth balls. I had the original light kit for it and thought i lost a bunch of parts but low abs behind i have everything so i hope to finish her up soon! The lights make all the difference!. I will say i think i like the motorless nacell lights. The motors are very noisy.
That would be a huge ship when you see the scale size of the windows. I always liked the maritime Port / Starboard red and green navigation lights. Great work! Accurate color !
A very nice build, Boyd; I must say that the heather grey looks superb (and I had always assumed that the Enterprise from STOS was *white*). I LOVE the way you've gotten the model lit up - your friend, Ryan, must be delighted! Oh, and I can't wait to see your Great White Shark, plus diver, from Pegasus.
Awsome! I'm just purchasing my first and would like to know what is the most important build tip you could give to a newby? Painting may be secondary as my vision is poor and this will be a challenge. Thanks!

Star Trek TOS will always be my favorite show. That is a beautiful model of the old Enterprise.
Again man I think this is the most faithful rendering and build of the TOS Enterprise. It looks just like the show. Just like it! Amazing work buddy.
It's actually better than the original used for the show. I've been to the Smithsonian and saw the original model - this is many times better.
Rich Kronfeld since they refurbished it?

I have no words.... except this is just perfect! So beautiful!
Holy hell that's a thing of beauty
OMG! That is the prettiest thing I have ever seen! When it was all lit up, it looked just like the TV model. Well done!
From one model builder to another:

You are a master craftsman Sir! Your TOS Enterprise builds are second to none.
Thanks, I do my best and put a lot of effort into them.
This is absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Words are woefully inadequate in describing how beautiful your build of The Great Bird of the Galaxy truly is!
Gene Roddenberry was "the Great Bird of the Galaxy", not the Enterprise.
The Enterprise never looked better, really nice build, great job on this one!....Bill

The sheen on that thing is beautiful! Nice paintwork, Boyd.

Great job 💘 it!
Looks just like the one from the show!
Awsome! I'm just purchasing my first and would like to know what is the most important build tip you could give to a newby? Painting may be secondary as my vision is poor and this will be a challenge. Thanks!
Yep.. the acrylic works. Lookin good buddy!
Thanks Chuck. After trying the craft paints on two big models now I'm sold on the stuff. A little slower drying than I'm used to but not a big deal.
Beautiful!
Where do you buy the model kit that has the sound along with lights?
Curious do you build beta canon ships
Beautiful.
Wau, great. Where can buy the modell?
As Mr. Spock 🖖 would say: “Fascinating!”
Super awesome!
Beautiful job. It looks excellent. Well done
