    Thanks to you, I finally dared to disassembly my Nitro 5 far enough to clean the fans and the heatsink. Cleaning all that dust inhaled by fans during 3 years really helped to keep both temperature and fan noise down. Thank you for this guide! :)

      How difficult is it to clean the fans? My nitro 5 CPU fan stopped working today and looking through the vents on the bottom i can see its filthy. The fan was running fine but now won’t spin at all, stays on 0rpm. Since i got it 3 years ago it ran hot even with both cpu and gpu fans turned all the way up

      Cleaning the fans is easy. Remove the bottom lid your laptop like shown on the video. If you have HDD-drive installed to a slot that is opened at 0:16 in the video, don´t forget to unplug it before removing the bottom lid. Now there is 2 ways to clean the fans; 1. Cleaning without removing fans (the easiest way) 2. Removing the fans (the most effective way). If you decide to remove the fans, here is a good tutorial; th-cam.com/video/jR2MONxmrhc/w-d-xo.html .
      If you want to clean the fans without disassembling your machine any further, you can use compressed air and any kind of small brush to remove as much dust as it is possible this way. Clean the inner side of the bottom lid as well before re-assembling. And the last but not least; Once the bottom lid is back, don´t forget to re-attach HDD-drive. ( Like I did :D )

      @@markoman1988 i honestly wasn’t expecting a reply especially so fast so I really appreciate that, also such a detailed explanation. Honestly so helpful and so great, a real top person. I definitely feel confident giving it a go myself after your reply and seeing a couple of videos after I commented on your reply here. I should have a screw driver that’ll fit laying around somewhere so I’ll give it a solid go myself. Thank you so much for replying though it really means alot especially considering its on an older video. Hope you have a good day/night/week.
      I did get a toothpick and go around the outside vents prior to your reply and got alot of grime out but the fans are gunked up. Definitely needs a good clean even around the USB ports, definitely will get a can of air and go through it. Might even treat myself to a ram upgrade while I’m at it considering i have 8gb ram but could do with an upgrade to 16gb. Once again thank you for your reply and genuine help. Really grateful of people like you in the community ☺️

    What model is yours? I have an Acer Nitro 5; acquired about 5 months ago in Mercado Libre, model AN515-52-71A4 from the year 2018 but since the laptop turns off after 5 or 10 minutes I was reading some posts that there is a button on the RAM cover that must be pressed to activate it. The laptop can work, I just have never opened said lid because I don't know if it voids the warranty.

    Lmao u dont show how to disconnect the adapter to the chrome part. How can we even do it without knowing yhe proper way. You made people destroy their system only with that little mistake.

    • @srtghfnbfg
      @srtghfnbfg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That "chrome part" is called the HDD enclosure. He didn't show it because his laptop did not have an HDD, and hence it was already disconnected; so it's not a mistake.
      Every time I do it, i also unscrew the hard drive enclosure and slowly pull on the plastic (NOT THE CABLE/BUS) to unplug the hard drive. The whole thing comes out easily

    it might not be anything important. but i cringed watching you bend something just trying to open the thing up. these are not cheap toys, nothing should be getting bent for carelessness.
