    In this video, I show a real client's brand identity design process. From sketch, to vector. The ultimate aim for any brand identity is to tell a story and use it to distinguish the brand from competitors.

    Great video, it's important to know that being consistent across all touchpoints can significantly boost brand recognition. A study found that consistent brand presentation across all platforms can increase revenue by up to 23%. Keep that in mind when applying these design principles.

    Your logo with the R and the flag is giving me vibes of Polo Jeans by Ralph Lauren logo. Which is a very huge fashion brand and can cause some confusion with the two brands.

    Hey Will, Absolutely loved the process and the outcome, I have a question though, when designing a logo or a brand identity there are two sides that we need to focus on, the client preferences and the target audience preferences, this itself might be long topic to discuss and I would love if you share your views and process on this!
    Best,

      You're so right, half the 'battle' is educating the client on what is best in your professional opinion (this is why they're hiring you) finding a balance can be great, but we do explain to our clients (depending on the project) that it's not always what is to their personal taste but what is best for the brand, in terms of target market, future proofing, being appropriate, unique etc :) being able to explain this is key to a good experience for all.

    Great video but the process is not a brand identity process, it‘s a visual identity process. It lacks of brand story, brand personality and verbal identity. All that is a brand identity. A logo is just part of a visual identity, which is part of a brand identity.

    If you’re a creative agency and you can’t design your own logo, there is no way I would trust you to design mine. If it’s easier to design someone else’s logo than it is your own, then that IS the creative challenge. It’s why designers ARE designers. If you can’t solve your own problems, how do you expect to solve other people’s problems? This is why there’s so much bad design out there in the world today. Creative agencies have forgotten how to be creative. Additionally, if an agency that has 3, 5, 8, 10, whatever designers working there can’t come up with a decent logo by itself, then the owner hired the wrong people to work there.

    • @willpatersondesign
      @willpatersondesign  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      An agency doesn’t have to do all their work in-house for a client. Your argument is based on the idea that the agency must do everything themselves for their client, instead of facilitating the need for them.

    • @timz9862
      @timz9862 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@willpatersondesign An agency can outsource work, but it should NEVER outsource the design of their own brand and marketing assets. If they can't do those themselves, then they don't deserve to be in business as a creative agency.

    • @willpatersondesign
      @willpatersondesign  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      I'm not sure who wrote that rule in the rule book... From experience - designers and creatives collaborate with each other not because they can't do the task, but because they can get better results from it. @@timz9862

    • @timz9862
      @timz9862 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@willpatersondesign There is no rule book. What I'm saying is that if your agency has more than a couple designers working there and none of them can come up with a logo that works for your own brand, then you don't deserve to be a creative agency, you've hired the wrong designers, and/or you've failed as the agency owner in properly teaching your employees what your company is all about. Or, you don't even know yourself, and again, should not be a creative agency. You shouldn't have to get "better results" for your own brand if you know your own brand and have hired the right people. I'll stop now. Thanks for replying.
