This is the first Henry Cavill interview I have seen where the interviewer didn't make him uncomfortable. So many interviewers are so focused on his physical atributes that they forget that for Henry, the CHARACTER is the big picture. He's well-read, intelligent, has deep and well-loved hobbies, and is absolutely chuffed to talk about them. Yet interviewers, especially female ones, seem to always creep on him, which makes him visibly uncomfortable. WELL DONE THIS GUY.

It left me being insular about my passions, I would try to hide all the sci-fi I would watch and read because of how harshly I was judged.

Cavill spoke of the late, great David Gemmell. He is a relatively unknown in the mainstream fantasy world, but perhaps the greatest heroic fantasy author of all time. I'm tremendously thankful that Cavill has introduced potentially millions to this man's work. You're doing yourself a huge disservice by missing out on Gemmell's works and it's a shame he doesn't get more notice by the fantasy community. It's likely most don't know of him. @@to1620 I would start with Legend. Definitely read the series in publication order. It has been my experience that Gemmell's world has more meaning and impact when you move back and forth in the timeline. After reading the first three books, take a break and read the John Shannow/Jerusalem Man series for a palate-cleanser. It's basically a western/fantasy/sci-fi trilogy. It was my first introduction to Gemmell's work. In fact, according to Gemmell, all of his books exist in the same universe, so there's that. Also, you won't need to take notes at all. This is one of the best interviews I've ever seen. Two intelligent, funny and interesting gentlemen are talking about juicy geeky stuff in a polite and fun way (oh, and on the way talking about some of Cavill's projects, but really, these are just the side notes :P ).
p.s- even a greater delight to see an interviewer knows what he is asking, or talking about in general regarding to the other person.

After watching S2 I, once again, realized, that literally no one on this whole planet could play a better Geralt than Henry. It's not only because of his acting skills but especially because he's literally a walking "Witcher Bible", like Freya (Ciri) has said recently. This role was really made for him and only him. 🤍
