I'm not sure if it's me, but EVERYTIME I have something going on with me, shoulders, rotatorcuff, ankle, heel, etc.. the next day a video comes out in this channel.
Yes!!! I woke up with severe pain, never googled or let Sundar Pichai know that I had such pain, but this is what saw in the suggested videos lol, nonetheless very useful video!
Thank you!!! I’ve struggled with plantar fasciitis and multiple bone spurs for about 30 yrs. My mobility is limited and painful!!! I’ve bought inserts, heel cups, orthotics, you name it! It’s a major challenge for this 71 yr old woman!! I’ll watch the video after I go to my physical therapy session. Thank you!
Thanks you guys! This is very helpful for me! I walk with a cane and now can use it for foot and heel pain! Your videos and products have been a life changer for me!
One thing briefly mentioned in this presentation was something akin to "running through the pain." I endorse the "don't be stupid" doctrine here because, of course, some years ago I had knee (no heel) pain and stubbornly if somewhat angrily decided "I'm gonna run through the pain." Visions of me as Chuck Norris, tough guy, danced through my head. Off I went, ha, no problem. Then after about a half mile the pain started. Great. Run through it. About another half mile and each footfall was like a red hot poker on one knee. I thought "your body is telling you, warning you with big flashing red lights, continue on this way and you will do great damage to yourself." I stopped running. By the time I got home, I was limping. A trip to the doctor, X-rays and a welcome to the wide world of arthritis. I'd like to say I took the news well, but, wanting a graduate degree in stupidity, I didn't. Much later on I decided I had a basic choice. Exercise, lose weight, pay attention to signals your body sends. About a week ago, I hurt my back. I thought no big deal, I'll still do the exercise class. It hurt to walk, not a lot, but enough. I didn't go. Took a couple of days off. Back is good as new. Lesson: Listen to these guys. And don't run through the pain. Pay heed to what these gentlemen say.
My pain is on the back, center area, of my heel. Kind of around the calcaneus area you pointed to on the skeleton in the video. It gets aggravated if I try to run, do any kind of impact exercise that requires being on the ball of my foot, or even just step wrong when walking. I've had this pain off and on for a couple years now. When it gets aggravated, the pain is so excruciating that it feels like someone took a ball peen hammer to the back of my heel and I can sometimes not even walk for a few hours, or barely walk if I need to. It started when I heard and felt a big "pop" in my heel while going up a hill with my lawn mower. I had an x-ray done on it before, but they never really showed or told me what they saw. I do lawn care for a living so I have to be walking all day, so not walking and just staying off of it are not really feasible options for me unfortunately. I hope I've explained this well enough to give you some kind of idea as to what I might have. Please help me 🙏. I want to continue to be active in my life as I am only 35 and love to play/compete in disc golf. Thanks.
I would add one thing about the cold therapy on the heel for plantar fasciitis: after keeping the heel on the ice pack (or frozen water bottle or in ice water) it’s VERY important to warm up the heel again before standing on it (which will cause more tiny breaks in the fascia), so just prepare ahead a little pan of warm water and put it on the floor beside your ice preparation, then put your foot in the warmth, after the ice, for a couple of minutes before standing or walking on the heel again.
I have had PF a few times, and every time it was related to over striding while running. However, I am dealing with it right now, and I haven’t been running at all for the last few months.
I have heal pain in my left foot and it started when my left calf began to atrophy… a calf tear later my calf packed up its bags and is gone. No doctor has a clue what to do to help bring my calf back… it doesn’t respond to anything including TENS units.
I have imfemation in my anlke for years. Tried a few things.. It painful. Stops me walking far. And wakes me up.... Any ideas please. I got heal aches. And had injections
I have been diagnosed with Insertional Achilles tendonitis and was told not to stretch it. I also have tight calves. I ice my feet nightly. I use a massage gun. I wear lifts so they aren't stretched. What else can I do? This has been 7 months without getting better.
AGREE!....stretching an injured muscle OR tendon will make things much worse!!, stretching IMO does no good even if you are healthy, I have caused more injuries by stretching than anything else....with all the stretching Ive done in the past I should as a 64 year old man have the flexability of a 16 year old gymnist!. NOPE!, your flexability is controlled by genetics.
Good morning, I do not have heel pain but thank you for the video. Thank you for all the videos over the years. They're incredibly helpful and I recommend them to friends all the time. Now I am 63 and here is what I'd like to ask you to make a video about suddenly and the last few days my knees just seem stiff when I'm walking. It feels like my knee isn't bending the way that it used to when I'm sitting. It's fine driving the car going up and down steps just when I'm walking. And they hurt ever so slightly. I don't look to be inflamed. What could be a cause of knee joint stiffness like that and what can I do to help it? Thank you
We can add your video suggestion to our to-do list. In the meantime, here is a video you may be interested in th-cam.com/video/K20WzoD6NZQ/w-d-xo.html. Take care!
Okay. What about pain in one spot on the inside surface of the heel bone toward the back? Not extending downward under the heel. Not up into the tendon. Very tender to touch. Painful to walk initially in the morning but diminishes and goes away after about 50 paces. But pain returns upon walking after sitting for a while. Chronic for 8 to ten years. Responds to ice pack for twenty minutes. Any ideas?
@richardnugent7035 YES! ME TOO! you described it exactly and no, its not plantar fascitis. I came here trying to find out what to do. Dealing with this the past 6 months. I'm happy it goes away when warmed up but it would be nice if I could not have to Frankenstein walk every time I get up after sitting a while. I hope you find a solution.
If you haven't figured out what you have yet, it sounds like "Retrocalcaneal bursitis" to me. More commonly known as "heel bursitis", which is something that I'm suffering from now. It sounds like your pain is in the same area as mine. It's caused by an inflamed "bursa" that exists between the achilles tendon and the heel bone. When your foot bends when you walk the tendon is stretched and tightens and squeezes on the bursa, and aggravates it, causing sharp pain. There are youtube videos about it that describe what it is and how to get relief. So look those up to see if it looks like what you have. I've only had it a couple days so far. I have found the most relief by adding foam wedges to the heel area inside of my casual walking sneakers. This raises my heel, which creates a foot angle that loosens the achilles tendon, so that it's not smashing my bursa when walking. Ice pack was also recommended. And don't do stretches! Bending the front of the foot upward, as if doing a "calf stretch" is what causes the problem. Mine started shortly after i was doing some work in a squatting position, and in that position the feet are bent at an acute angle and the heels are stretched. That's never bothered me before, and didn't know that it even could til now, but I guess my age is catching up with me. Fortunately, only my right heel was affected. I'm hoping that the relief from the heel lifts and generally resting the heel for a week or two will lead to its healing. From what I've read, it should heal within a few weeks at most, certainly not years. If yours has lingered for that many years, this may not be the reason, but it's worth a look to see if it if it matches your symptoms or not. Maybe you have a heel spur? Good luck.
Don't forget Fibromyalgia. I was having extreme heel pain. I couldn't get out of bed in the morning w/o hitting the ceiling. My rheumatologist gave me my first pair of Tulis. Pain was gone in short order. She said heel pain is one of the most common complaints with Fibro patients. I get the sports Tulis now - have ever since I found out about them. They were and are a Godsend.
sorry, but if you have achillies tendonitus from overuse you will only make things worse by stretching the tendon. Ive done more damage to my body by excessive stretching of hamstrings and achillies tendon than by any exercise. ( stretching over 5 minutes a day.) the tendon is injured/hurting becouse of overuse/too much stress. ONLY rest and cutting back on walking/running will heal it. the biggest lie in exercise today is EVERYBODY should be doing 10,000+ steps every day. most peoples bodies WILL get injured on such a high rate of activity. the older you get the less your body can do, thats ageing that nobody can stop.

What work for me was going keto!! Sugar is liked to inflammation. After stopping sugar and grains my pain disappeared 100 percent!!!
THIS!! ⤴️⤴️
Yes, it's true
Thank you- you always provide great information in a way thats easy to understand
Thanks for watching!

I have all 3 going on, thank you!!
I spent to much time on the treadmill and now I have planter fasciitis .very painful at times.
What about having a spur on the heel?
Can you show how to apply the ticky tapes for heal and ankle swellingness and pain in the heel and above the heel?
I use compression stockings for that. Watch how much foods you eat with oxalic acid and drink more water.
Thanks
No problem!
I have bought HIKE shoes from England. It has relieved foot, knee, and some of my back pain. I'm over 65.
Didn't mention bone spur pain?
I have heal pain in my left foot and it started when my left calf began to atrophy… a calf tear later my calf packed up its bags and is gone. No doctor has a clue what to do to help bring my calf back… it doesn’t respond to anything including TENS units.
What does it mean if the pain starts closer to the base of your toes and moves to the heel? Is that still typically Plantar Fasciitis?
I have the first 2. Agony
Brad and Mike have such great healthy looking bare feet! Mikes been working out his calves and thighs. Love his tan lines 😅
I have imfemation in my anlke for years. Tried a few things.. It painful. Stops me walking far. And wakes me up.... Any ideas please. I got heal aches. And had injections

I have diabetes neuropathy in my feet and they go to sleep and they numb. What can I do?
I think perimenopause for women also causes heel pain. Estrogen is quite mean to woman as we age!
Can bone loss in your heal cause heel pain??
Good morning, I do not have heel pain but thank you for the video.

this is the exact pain i have, im 17 and play sports and i am looking for ways for this pain to go away
The video describes and explains this clearly: it’s plantar fasciitis. Follow the healing tips in the video. They work!!
