as a person who has almost the exact model, gotta love lenovo. struggled to find a budget gaming laptop that can offer a sweet performance, but this model came along, and is easily one of the best purchases i made. spending little for such a good laptop for its price is amazing.

@@houssamelgharbi2235 It can last for 4 hours in my experience, but if you add another stick of ram and a nvme ssd, it's gonna lower to 2 hours in balanced mode, there's also a battery saver mode which I never used because I use it plugged almost all the time

Gotta love Lenovo. Got the Ryzen 5600H version of this laptop with the same 3050 after seeing the positive reviews you guys gave it and I couldn't have been happier. It was 700€ in Italy at the time. Paired with my Wacom Cintiq and a RAM upgrade it's been the perfect little gaming and Digital painting set up.
How does that 5600h performs? I'm in doubt of buying a Ryzen 5 5600h or i5 11300h
@@wildercastellanos1188 Just perfect for my needs. Those CPUs are pretty similiar, but Ryzen has the upper hand on multicore as it has 2 more cores, which helps with productivity. But all in all I don't think you can go wrong with either for general use and gaming.

i've got the 1650 version of this laptop with the r5 4600h and i gotta say it holds up to all the games i wanna play on it (even warzone 2), i've also installed an extra 8gb stick of ram and i gotta say the dual channel made a massive difference

I was thinking of the Acer Nitro 5 on amazon for around $900 since its almost equivalent and comes with 1TB SSD and win 11.
i picked gigabyte cuz it looked sleeker and i could change the battery without having to take the whole bottom case.
downside with these two laptops is their battery. which is why i picked gigabyte 🙏

Lenovo always been crazy in the budget gaming laptop market. My first introduction to "PC gaming" was a 1080p lenovo with SLI 750m's. Was a killer deal too. Back when the 7 series was Nvidia's newest line. I remember looking up so many videos about its performance in games weeks before I got it. I haven't gotten anything Lenovo since as I build my own towers now and get much more premium laptops, but I will always appreciate and respect what Lenovo does.

You need to check to make sure u used a 3200mhz stock with jdec specs to be out of the box not like those other ones where u upgrade and it runs like 2666mhz . I would of just upgraded the whole matching kit
Nice. Definitely a great value. I still have my old Lenovo 960M 4GB gaming laptop. I never upgraded it from 8gb of ram and that would've been an easy move for more performance. Now it doesn't make sense as I upgraded to an Alienware with a 3080 and 32gb of ram but I still sometimes fire up the Lenovo to see what it can do in 2022.

@@Keler477 at the time I got a good deal as with a bunch of discounts it was a little under $2K after tax and shipping. I'm not of those people who has brand allegiance. I would've gone with a Legion but an equally speced one was about $500 more. I got the laptop a few months after the RTX 30 series dropped on laptops so there were less deals than now. However, it's been an absolute beast of a laptop in my experience. I know some people hate Alienware but so far so good.

Hell, I'd went with a Lenovo Legion but it was out of budget. So far so good with my Alienware. Can game up to 4K on it depending on the game whereas my old Lenovo now shits the bed at 1080P low settings 😂

almost got this but i settled for legion 5 11400h 3050ti, so happy with the purchase.
I bought this when it was $580, and returned it in favor for a refurbished Lenovo legion 5 pro for $850. I didn’t like it because it was i5 but only had 4 cores. The 16” 165 hz, 2k resolution, and 100% sRGB plus advanced Optimus was worth on the legion for me. Apparently the 165hz modes have much better response time according to jarrod’s videos. Also came with intel 11700 processor and rtx 3050, 16gb. Should have better cooling and comes with rgb keyboard. I also had a $750 idea pad from Microcenter that had ryzen 7 6800h and 16gb ddr5 4800 memory. The panel upgrade was also worth to me there.
2K/QHD with RTX 3050 for $850 seems like a very good deal, but how was QHD play?
I was under the impression that RTX 3070 Laptop was minimum for decent QHD.

I have a Lenovo Gaming pad 3 with a Ryzen 5 5600 I think and a 3050 ti. It’s great, quiet, sleek but one major bug I’m finding is that the USB’s don’t work sometimes when I plug something in. I would have to go to device manager, disable and enable to usb driver and it would work. It’s kinda a big deal for me that the usbs are funky but I’m new to gaming laptops and it was $599 usd at best buy
Recently bought a Lenovo legion laptop for 539 on eBay. 4600h 1650 ti 8gb rams and 512ssd. Never been happier. Lenovo makes the best bang for the buck laptops. Also they aren’t to flashy.

Dang I wonder if there is an RTX3060 Variant. I snagged a Dell G15 Special edition that they had a deal going on that brought it down to 1079.00. It came with the 11800H, RTX3060 ( 130 watt version ) 1tb Gen 3 M.2 ssd, Thunderbolt 4 port, and a 1080P 360Hz GSYNC display.

I got an older version of the Ideapad Gaming 3, with a 1650 but with a Ryzen 5600h, and a 512gb ssd. It's an amazing laptop, but I bough it at the time last year for $750, not a bargain but a well balanced laptop for work and gaming

i have a same one but with amd ryzen 5 series progressor and invidiea gtx 1050 ! and 120htz screen and a keyboard with more color options ! i have it since 5 monthes and i still cant believe how good it is !! just to mention that for 7 years i had an hp laptop with intel i3 with 1.7ghz without external video card ! i and i was playing lol with 40 fps or less :P

Is there a particular reason all USB-A type ports are on the right side for many laptops?
I much prefer having one on the left to plug the mouse and have the wire go behind the screen to use the mouse on my right without the plug being in the way when using it.

Ive had gaming laptops for a long time. One major issue is the keyboard for me. Depending on the games u play you'll be spamming certain keys a lot which overtime may definitely break and need to be replaced ( which u can do purchasing the key online) but another is the GPU. At some point this once really good computer will need a upgrade and many gaming laptops are difficult to upgrade if u plan to play more higher end games. Overall i personally switched to a gaming PC

I've seen where other people say that he HDMI port is on the motherboard and not the graphics card and that would result in the integrated GPU being used rather than the RTX 3050 when connected to an external monitor. Can you confirm either way? I'm looking to get one but want to be able to use it on an external monitor.
I have the GTX 1660ti variant, excellent machine. Very fast and great for 1080p gaming.
I recommend buying whole new ram when upgrading, rather than adding on to what's already there. I've ran into this problem twice now where I'd get random blue screens. Sometimes a couple days apart, sometimes several weeks. The first laptop only had 4GB of its OEM, and I added another 4GB stick of crucial. Got BSOD's until I finally figured out by only running one stick and it ran fine. Whether OEM or Crucial. I bought another crucial 4GB and used that instead, never had a BSOD.
A few years later, my next laptop had same exact issue when adding RAM. Had to remove mismatched brands. All primary timings were the same, but I'm guessing sub timings were not.
Walk me through what you’re saying. The ram already there is a different brand so it doesn’t work well with the new one, so you want to replace it with one, still keeping the ram at 8g. Then you can add another on with the same brand to make it 16g?
Great budget laptop! I paid a pretty penny for my MSI GS75 Stealth back in 2019 ( i7-9850H, 32gb RAM, RTX 2070, 1Tb ssd, 17” 144hz FullHd).
But 3 years later and it still rocks in 1080p. I can play the newest most demanding AAA titles on High/Ultra settings and still get 60+ fps.
And of course with a couple exeptions like Cyberpunk 40-45fps on Ultra, RDR2 45-55fps on Ultra, with DLSS on Quality, and that’s still impressive for first gen RTX mobile gpu.

@@masterrudy2996 at that time back in 2019 I spent $2k for the laptop. Now for under $2k ($1800 to be exact) I built a 3090 rig that offers me more than double the performance at higher resolution lol. I would most likely never go back to a gaming laptop unless I really need to portability

This laptop has the 4-core/8-thread i5 11300H, not the 6-core/12-thread 11400H - big difference, and you need to update your video description accordingly. Also, when you took it out of the box, the battery was not dead. Lenovo laptops will not power on for the first time unless the charger is plugged in.
I thought that laptop had the Intel Core i5-1135G7

got this same lenovo 3 with a 5800h 512gb ssd and 16gb of ram from micro center over a year ago for $800. It looks like micro center has an upgraded version with a 6800h available now for $750. Definitely would recommend that model especially since this laptop does not have a great battery and the 6800h has great integrated graphics. I was able to get a yuge battery bank and just use that when on the road because this laptop only lasts 4 hours on battery even under a light workload.
(and that 4 hour runtime is when i disable the 3050 and set the processor to run at max 20 watts, I do have a 2.5 inch 2 tb mechanical drive which probably doesn't help but the battery life is kinda garbage. Great Laptop though.)

i have the same laptop but the i7 variant. its a good laptop but the display is really bad. out of the box the screen had small lines that could be seen. the lines are more visible on apps with white backgrounds.

So I just got.an.msi katana with an i7 12800hk 16 gb ddr4 32000 ram. 1 tb solid state HD and a 144hz refresh rate for 900$ brand new in box. Did I get a good deal? I got it last night ans didn't have much time to play with it because I had to be up at 4am for work..did I make a good.buy? And is it overclockable? I just really hope I made a good purchase to playe AAA games at high frame rates.

Unfortunately it's using the i5 11300H which is their 4C/8T 35W CPU. Although it's fine for the most part it can bottleneck some games if the GPU gets any higher. If you want to buy this machine I suggest getting the Ryzen 5 5600H variant.

I have the model from 2019. Mine has an i7-9850H and a mobile GTX 1650. This is a great machine aside from some plastic chipping due to the lid being opened and closed.
It annoyingly was $1,300 with discounts.

You should probably buy 2 matching sticks of ram. I think the stock ram speed is also slower than the new ram as well.

I know this doesn't apply for all Acer laptops, but I've had my experiences with Nitro 5 2018. Poor build quality, quality goes downwards even with proper care. Echoing from above comment, Acer is a no go. Long term speaking.

have same one, just with Ryzen 5600H, only bad thing about this laptop is screen, brightness in particular, it simply isnt bright enough. iv noticed that in some games and some youtube videos, its like parts where shadows are at that are to dark, only way to make it bright enough is artificially play with gamma values, as well as with red, green and blue ratios, which makes picture later more bright, but u can say it is unnatural. most ppl wouldnt notice it probably, i just work in computer repair shop so i could tell the difference between display qualities, it feels kinda cheap tbh, but for that budget i guess i couldnt expect more.
also one more tip, iv heard rumors that this year model of this laptop (with Ryzen 6600H) got that problem somewhat fixed, reviews are saying that brightness of display is better) so people should probably concider that one instead. only thing to pay attention in that case is that ull gona need ddr5 ram memory, which is more expensive at the time i was writing this
