We went to Micro Center and said “Give us your cheapest PC!”. They replied with the Acer Aspire TC-1750 and honestly it isn’t too bad out of the box. Of course, though, we had to fully load this system and put it to the test by adding an RTX 3050 and then playing some AAA titles!

Just went to microcenter in Westbury,NY. Just built a Ryzen 5500 rx580 16gb Ram b550 for $410. Bought a Sapphire Nitro rx580 on FB marketplace for $50. Very happy with this store.
While the CPU & GPU in toasty bros PC is better than your build. I still prefer your build because its standard connections. You can upgrade your PC easy, assuming your PSU is enough for a better GPU. You can easily drop in a rx 6700 xt for example or a ryzen 5700x3d CPU.
U could get a used 6700xt for about 200€/$👍🏻👍🏻

Again For Fortnite. The two setttings that you could change are in the installation settings for the game itself they are called pre download streamed assests and high resolution textures, also if you just did the drivers obviously play 3-4 before showing results. (if you plan to play on performance mode disable directx 12 shaders as well)

This is a great way to get newbies into computers. My first system was a Dell in 2003. I didn't do much upgrading besides an extra stick of RAM. I got another Dell around 2008 or so mostly to get a relatively cheap Q6600 CPU. I did a bunch of upgrading to that one - GPU 8600, RAM, PSU, case mods to add 2 extra fans. Eventually replaced everything besides the CPU into another system. SLI 8800GTs. Last year I built my first system since that one. Went mini-ITX this time. I learned a lot from tinkering with those two Dell systems.

If your purchasing a computer and intending on upgrading it later. This is one of the most limited routes you can take.
True but they were talking about a specific use case like if you had an existing office pc with similar specs or if your dad wasnt so tech savvy and bought an office pre built, you could add a graphics card or more ram to make it run games.

it's a good starter system with those upgrades, the only other upgrade(s) would be to add exhaust fan, punch holes in the bottom so that the gpu can breath a little more and a better cpu cooler, which if done right should add an extra $50 on top, but you gotta be careful as that acer cooler is mounted through the motherboard to the case itself.

No case fans for cooling, a propitiatory motherboard and basic power supply. This is practically e-waste from an upgrade perspective.

Dude.. There’s a Fan slot open for exhaust. Aside from the basic psu and MB, this is perfectly fine and upgradable. There’s no soldered on bs on it.

Compared to a custom PC for the same price it’s garbage. However you can still add more storage, a better CPU, more RAM and a better GPU when more efficient/performant non-supplemental power cards are released

I'm all about boosting a used work desktop for gaming (and will never get tired of that content) but I wouldn't recommend buying one brand new.

Im new to this pc building hobby but picked up the ryzen 5 7600x with 32 gb ram and a rx6800 . My last built was a i7700k with n7700c 4g so for me this is a major upgrade lol 😆
the budget pc for just over $500 from a couple videos ago was a better all-around unit, i think. of course, had to build it out yourselves, but almost certainly better overall gaming performance than any 3050 6gb-equipped unit - and cost less too. definitely the way to go if you don't need the prebuilt.
THe IGPU also takes 2 gigs of your 8 for video ram so you are using only 6 on single channel to run the actual game. Up grade to another 8 gigs for 16 and the outcome will be a little better.
I am always searching for such deals at my local Microcenter. Look for a refurbished workstation. They usually have a Geforce or Quadro card in their used workstations.
I am looking at a HP Z240 Workstation Desktop Computer (Refurbished); Intel Core i7 6th Gen 6700 3.4GHz Processor; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB; 32GB RAM; 1TB SSD+3TB HDD for $479.
I've used that hp desktop with the ryzen 3 5300g from bestbuy, parents needed a new office pc, upgrading from an i5 4590, that 5300g is surprisingly good, minecraft at 1080p maxed out settings, I got 75-90fps on 8gb ram. Temps never got above 49c either

Wow not bad. I get 13326 3dmarks, but I am waiting for the 5090. Have the PSU and all set up for it....BTW my 3070 came out when the prices were ungodly high, think 1000.00 for a 3070 back then.
There are reasons why business pcs only have a single stick of ram. If your budget only lets you get exactly what you need and your apps run fine under a single stick of ram, a year or 2 latter as ram demands increase you can do a mid life cycle upgrade to boost the system by adding just another stick of ram to double it. If there are already 2 sticks of ram then on the mid cycle upgrade you have to rebuy all the ram instead of buy have of it and then you have a pile of e-waste dims that are too small to use. Rebuying all the ram just adds cost to your budget.
It is more cost effective and can cause less ewaste.
here in canada the rtx 3050 6gb is 249.99 before taxes which is another12%

Personally, If I was in your shoes I would go for a cheaper 13600k and use the extra money for a 4070.
$200 is a expensive GPU for me. Cool upgrade though. I'd be fine with a cheaper one for those games.
Too bad the power supplies are so limited, a refurb with more options/power might be a better option and you wouldn't be limited to a no external power GPU.

16GB is a minimum for gaming, and to prove that point, I would have loved it if you guys ran the iGPU with 8Gb & with 16GB, then also run the 3050 with 8GB & with 16GB.

i know its random but like i bought a lenovo t5 10 months ago rtx 3060ti i7 13700f 1tb 1 stick 16ram 4400 for about 1650 dollars at a discount the original price was 1840 but now i saw the lenovo official website and its good really good discounts and way better stuff for cheaper do u think i should return my pc or sell it and buy a better one from the lenovo official website i dont really know about pcs but i know it is a way better deal should i do that?
if that's US$ and you can return it, i definitely would. i'd want a faster gpu than the 3060ti and two sticks of ram, preferably 32gb. in that $1500+US price range, i'd be looking for a system with a ryzen 7700x/7800x3d or i5 13600k (13700k or similar is fine too, but might be overkill - i5 is still great for gaming) and a 4070/4070 super gpu, with 32gb of ddr5 5600/6000mhz ram, and hopefully a 2tb gen 4 nvme ssd for storage. definitely doable if you buy the parts yourself & you or someone you know can build it. on lenovo's site right now, for around 1500 you can get a 13700f & 4070 computer and it would most definitely be better than the one you have now - but i still think it's too expensive for what you get compared to building one yourself (or with a friend). whatever you decide to do, good luck! there are a lot of options out there & it can definitely be overwhelming.

Why are people so ungrateful for the limited upgrade path?
3050 6gb is a "good card" in the same way that getting stabbed in the gut is preferable to getting shot in the head. when there aren't any other options, it might seem like it's good - but you're still getting a raw deal. nvidia could absolutely afford to make better cards for similar prices & use-cases but refuse to because they want to anchor their prices as high as possible. i know it's what they're supposed to do as a for-profit company, but i'd like to see the entry point for decent pc gaming as low as possible so more people could have fun with it.

I'll join you on the hill: RTX 3050 6GB is a good card for what it is. Shame Nvidia don't much care about the market it targets, they've got a whole stack of mobile GPUs that would be good in SFF/bus powered PCI-E card form but since they don't the 3050 6GB has its place and is a good replacement for the 1650.
Nvidia makes better GPU's than the competition. They cost more as well, so, you get what you paid for. Their not interested in fighting over the low end gaming market because A. It's not very profitable. B. They won't lower their standards to offer competitive pricing. If you want to save money, you get an AMD or Intel., if you want the best, you get the Nvidia that suits your needs.It's that simple and bashing Nvidia for it is unfounded.
Dang it i have a $2000+ ( 13700k 4080 super )gaming pc and i use a dvd drive dang it. Although its external but none the less i do use a dvd drive
Yeah I tried got Beamng Drive to play on my dad's Dell but then it steam wouldn't load anymore because of hardware requirements.

You should notice a bit of a performance boost with more RAM and that CPU upgrade. That CPU is probably bottlenecking your 4060!
